you should be only using 10/40 oil on the racetrack or for summer. Any other time , IMO , use 5/30 or 10/30w ( thinner at operating temp. than 10/40w)

    Ur getting 9.7km per L not 9.7L/100km

So u can drive 97km with 10L of fuel

I am averaging around 10.1km/100km. I guess its not too bad.

Yea then your fuel economy is not bad at all. Just for some reason you fuel light is coming on too early or your fuel gauge has on uncalibrated.

Yeah my fuel needle doesnt move from full until i hit around 110km. The first half of the tank usually goes 250km and second half goes around 150km. Is it easy to recalibrate the fuel gauge?

    Try castrol edge 5/30
Most of the year I use calibre 5/30 full synthetic from supercheap auto - made by caltex and similar / same as honda feo fluids
But cheaper. Summer or track use i use castrol edge 5/40 (i think
It is! Alittle thicker for protection from excessive heat)

THATS BLOODY GOOD! But ur doing highway kms right?

When did ur light come up?

My light came on and i drove for another 10km until i filled up. I filled up 38.9L. Havent filled my tank to full for a long time but i added up all my km and got 9.55L/100km

So i am guessing light comes on with 12L left?

Yeah I do approx 70-80% highway driving. 100km zone on the highway... the light came on at 524km. Filled up at the closest BP, which was only 2km down the road.

I quickly calculated all the lt/km's that I have kept a record of:
    44lt/495km
    48.3/531km
    44.4lt/500km
    43.97lt/523km
    39.2lt/457km
    41.7lt/517km
    46.6lt/526km (latest tank filled)

The average lt/100km for the above 7 tanks works out to be 8.67lt/100km.
If I calculate that into the latest tank filled, my light came on with approx 3.4 litres left, which is about 40km of travel on reserve... Which sounds about right?

Hi guys. Didn't notice this thread as I started up another one in regards to fuel consumption...

I'm currently on about 360km with petrol gauge just above empty. Petrol light isn't on yet. From what I've been reading here it seems I should be expecting better economy than what I'm on. Granted I have been engaging vtec a few times. A bit excited since I just got the car... And I do a lot of stop start driving.

    Should I be concerned?
