    I'm pretty over this bullshit regarding rotas; this and that.

    Who gives a shit what rims you have! My opinion is go for the design. I dont care if your clothes are from kmart or myer. If the design is good, so be it!

    And with Rota's, thier actually on the high end of available wheels in aus. Ever seen the bob jane t mart advertisement flyers or wheels from ozzytyres/tempe,,, You can get wheels in with tyres balanced/fitted/aligned for under a grand. Rotas sell for around 1.5K no tires, no fitting, nothing, not even a discount if u get tyres.

    I have rays wheels and BBS, i've had many different wheels including rotas in the past. If your going to look down on other people because thier rims arent as expensive as yours, you really got a confidence problem.

    If you're going 8.5 wide, IMO go with an offset in the low 30's, preferably +30 or similar for flush fitment (but not "hella" flush lol). Absolute minimum of +35 at least. You'll certainly need rear guards rolled.

    Yeah but Rota's are shit... What's your point?

    As for the fitment question. 8.5 +30 is going to look alright... lets just say... at least you won't have any rubbing issues.

    be wary if you go with X9 +35 rear and you are low you will come close to grinding the inner lip on the rear arm without running MORE than 1.5 degrees camber. +30 offset is ideal and i wish my wheels came in +30 instead of +35.

    Steven, if you want an agggresive sussy setup, have you considered getting spacers and then running aggresive camber settings on the rear?

    I'd do it properly change;

    wheel bearings
    use extended studs w/ floating spacer (H&R DRS series [i think its DRS?])

    I will have an aggressive sussy setup when Holland send me a nice package on Monday guy I don't have a huge need for spacers in the rear, i will add a few tenths to get around 1.7 on the rear and the stiffer damper/springs (3.5 times stiffer in the rear than current setup) should alleviate any issues in the future with the rear wheel contacting the arm ever again.

    So did you have to raise your car when you changed from your stock DC5S rims to the RPF1's?

    I actually lowered it a bit when i put the RPF1's on to about 1 finger gap with a 235/40 tyre. The problem is when you have a soft rear spring rate excessive damper compression will cause the inside lip to come very close to the control arm and hit. More camber will increase the clearance but an X9 wheel with 35 offset has minmal clearance to begin with (10mm off memory), hence why i wish they came in a +30
