If you live out on the western side of Melbourne I'd highly recommend taking yours to them though they are quite busy and you may not get an appointment for a month.
so you got fluid change for free?

good point. surely the hose is related to the PS fluid.

For me, I did not pay anything extra during the PS hose recall with Larke Hoskins Homebush. They did not flush the fluid for me (nor did they suggest that I should do so), so all they did was top up any fluid that was lost during the hose change.

Fair enough, this was my initial thought as well.
Why do we need to change it now, and not when it is due to be changed "by the book"?

:\. maybe it depends on the person you deal with? were you just going in to get that done? cause maybethey want to earn something off you while your there. Perhaps you could first ask if everyone is being charged that who come in, if they say yes then you could mention about me I guess, that I got it done and they didnt charge anything.

Was it full with NEW fluid though?
I was just going to get that done, maybe they waived the fluid cost for you since you were getting service (if indeed they did change the fluid for you).

I'm not going there anymore, for the recall they don't have spots for ages.

My guess is that they would've topped up the reservoir with new fluid, as some fluid will definitely be loss during the hose change. This was the case for me - they topped up the reservoir but did not drain out the old fluid, as the PS fluid is still looking dirty as sh*t.

Even if you refused to pay extra for them to flush the entire system, they'd still have to top up the PS reservoir. So if you don't want the PS fluid changed, simply tell them "no" when they ask you for the extra $127 or so!

Personally, given that genuine PS fluid is $18ish per litre (RRP I believe), and you'd only need 2 bottles max (needs 1.1L for a full system disassembly according to the service manual, so you may get away with less), I'd be inclined to change out the fluid yourself if it makes you feel better! There's a DIY here for the EG/EK/DC2, but the same instructions apply to the CL9. The return hose is the smaller hose higher up on the reservoir, and the service manual actually suggests slipping in a smaller hose inside it so that you can drain the fluid outside the car.

Im sure it wasnt new, as said above they probably topped it up. For me the booking time for the service was 2 weeks. I guess then cannot be bothered to book in people only for the recall.
