is it possible to keep a FMR layout with an engine of such size (and weight) put in there?
i would imagine it would take up more space and therfore not fit exactly where the old one went.

still i like the idea of a 4cyl 4 stroke revving up to 9k.
that and the double wishbone suspension is the main reason im looking into buying one rather then an rx7.

Yes you can still keep the FMR layout with an LS1 engine. The LS1 is about 390 pounds, the F20 (i heard) is about 330 pounds. So there is a 30 Kilo difference. Not much. But as i said, i think the idea of the S2000 is a nimble, responsive roadster with a high-revver.

i love how theyve done all that to the engine, and kept the original cover on.
as if they are trying to keep it innocent ahaha, amazing output tho.

    F20c is about 170kg, ls1 is about 208kg.

So about 40kg difference, which is a 10 year old kid.

Sent from my custard cannon like Peter North.

    Guys..

Im waiting for someone to use a Heartly v8 in a s2k, (Google h1v8) keeps the 9k theme.

This is the only other motor that should go in an S2k.

I wish I could but I'm not that rich.. Haha.. anyone with deep pockets on this forum might be interested..

It's 2 hayabusa heads on a custom v8 block, revs to 9k (possibly plus). Have a few options in capacity. 2.8-3l puts out 380-500 bhp and only weighs about 90kg.. Its been developed for a few years now..

Attach it to a quaife sequential and it would be an unbeatable combo in the S.

If I'm not mistaken it's being used in the Aerial atom v8 and in the Caterham v8 Levanté.

The motor will only set u back about 30k. And the box about 15k.

208 Pounds? Maybe you getting mixed. My sources are quiet reliable. Plus minus some kilos.

Impressive, but without wanting to speak for the OP $45k might be a tad more than he is budgeting for.
