Yeah the seller hasn't posted any engine pictures, and the interior pictures are very limited. I kinda of want to wait and be surprised to see whats under the hood, but rationally I should ask for pictures.. Either way the airlines tickets are non-refundable and I'm heading down either way.My brain is playing up and thinking of all sorts of goodies under the hood. I have to try not to get my hopes up!

If its the vti accord it should be the F22B (quote me if im wrong) which is the SOHC VTEC engine.
Should be a good horse for you mate.
My parents used to have one and it was where my love for honda began!

Yeah from what I read its the first year they introduced Vtec, its an F22B1 2.2L Vtec. I'm happy for this.. I hope the previous owner put some goodies under the bonnet for me!

Better to just throw the f22 on the garbage and use the entire h22a engine and transmisson

More reliable than swapping heads around.
An unopened well maintained honda motor will give you years of service even with many hearty revs

Ok thanks for the advice. More expensive for the entire h22a engine isn't it? It there many things extra or the change in this kind of swap?

Well it is and it isnt.

Theres more complete engine packages around than seperate h22a heads...

Then you factor in the labour of building the new combination engine it kinda balances out and is easier to just do a straight swap over to the h22a.
Plus the gear ratios will be correct for the h22a,instead of using the f series gearbox ratios

And to make it easier again look for a front cut of a h22a prelude. 4th gen or 5th gen. as you would have all the necessary components there.

Sounds like this car is going to put you further into debt with the plans you have! haha good luck with the car. Don't buy it just because you traveled so far though... If it's not good don't hand over your good money!
