D16Y Stalling

Ok so i have a D16 in my EG and now and then it like to stall straight after starting it up and you cant accelorate or anything to stop it it just stalls then you try start it again and it just turns over its like the fuel pump is on it way out but i read somewhere it could be the fuel regulator?? anyone had this problem or know how to fix it

When cold, or warm?

Are you giving it enough time to prime the fuel lines?

mainly when cold but it has done it when warm and yea i let it prim all the time still does it

Main relay, common fault. Engine will start and conk out. Won't restart. Leave it for 5-10 minutes and it's starts no prob. Sometimes will start OK, then after a short drive to the shops or somewhere, then does the same.
Next time it does it, turn on the ignition without using the starter and listen for the sound of the fuel pump. If you can't hear it circulating fuel(whirring), it's the relay.
