doesn't matter where it comes from, you need that negative to complete the power circuit. You also need to make sure the correct wires are going to the correct pin outs.

Just ground that wire with the crimp at the end.

Ground it to a good grounding source.

That harness u got is that the one that came with the HU in the box?? Or did u buy dat from elsewhere?
