Also why is the reviewer I read gave it 3/5 ratings? anything bad about it? it sure looks good to me!
Can't really comment on the VTi-L price as I bought the Sport.
But as a yard-stick I got my Sport for $30k driveaway in Dyno Blue, genuine mats, front and rear mud-spats and the extra 2 years genuine Honda warranty ... ended up being over $3k in savings off list price with the extras .. thought I did OK, I was pleased with the deal.
As for reviewers giving 3/5 or whatever .. personally I take any of these reviews with a pinch of salt, particularly ones like the Performance Drive one mentioned in an earlier post, any review that quotes the Mazda 3 as "offers a lot more kit" compared to the Civic obviously has some sort of bias toward the Mazda product for whatever reason ? ... or just hasn't spent much time in the Civic ?
When I looked around I found the Civic to be far superior overall to anything else available at this price point (particularly the Mazda 3)... and no, I'm not a Honda fanboy, in fact this is the first Honda Iv'e ever owned.

Didn’t look at Mazda. Honda family, third Civic, always been happy with brand. I hear once people buy Honda they generally buy them again. As the Civic is based on older generation platform and mechanicals it gives confidence it will last well into the future and be reliable. 7th Gen has proven to be a great car.
Considered Golf, didn't drive. Just sat in and looked at specs. Golf would of been mid 30's. Then there's question mark over servicing costs and reliability of DSG. VWs technology wise seem ahead.
Tested BMW F20 118i auto. Slight lag down low and great handler. Back seats not enough room. Mid 50's by time options are added. Value wise Civic stands up very well to BMW. Civic for every day use stands up very well performance and handling wise.

Er... Oh okay... I've got 7 gen, 8 gen and Euro but now driving CX9...
Anyway, for 30k, i prefer a CU2. The only good things on Sports that I see improved from the 8th gen is the leather. The one on 9th looks more expensive and lux

Bye2 Honda... Hello Mazda family

I had a look at the mazdas, they have 5 models with different trim levels with optional extras like Bose sound system xenon lights, leather seats and GPS navigation. Oh and a 2.3L turbo engine if you are so inclined.
Hope a Type R would join the line up soon
Nice deal you got on the sport by the way! Loved the dyno blue.

don't know if its been said, but the taillights are from the toyota camry 2002-2004 :LL
and i'm guessing they will just release a `refreshed, updated' civic in 2013-14 by altering the taillight pattern, going from red white red, to white red white just like the 04-06 camrys!

I would try for $23 000. walk out a couple times show them you dont care if u buy a mazda 3 or holden cruze go to all the honda dealerships do the same thing. I paid $22 000 for a manual vti-l and full tank no extras, add another thousand for auto, floor matts are less then $200 for realy good ones and mud flaps from china $40 delivered on ebay all you need is a battery drill to install im sure theres a how to install guide up on the net. With the extras i wouldnt pay more then $23 500. If your gona pay $24 500 give me the difference ill haggle with them if your in sydney.

Hi, guys I recently bought a Honda Civic 2012 VTI-L auto model... to my surprise it didn't come with rear parking sensors and was told to add them it will cost me $780!! to me that's ridiculously high price!
I am new to the car market, so I am not sure if the one Honda uses is any superior to the one after-market people use (is it?)...Any recommendation on where to get a reliable rear parking sensors done that is cheaper (I need it to be installed aswell)? Is there any risk in getting in done with someone else beside Honda?
Will it void any warranty with Honda?
