Megane RS250 is one of the few cars that I would buy if I wanted a fun car and was willing to put up with the european reputation of reliability. I'd buy it over a Scirocco.

    There's European, then there's French. Surprisingly, there's a difference.

I used to think the scirocco was cool, but it was meh in the flesh..its very small. I think they waited too long to bring it here.

DSG... mmm yes there have been issues with the 7 speed dry clutch DSG, found in lower Golf models.

the GTI / R use the old 6 speed wet clutch DSG that has been around for a while. the same one found in Audi S3. in stock form it is designed to handle up to 350nm.. but a lot of ppl are pushing it hard. i have not heard any major dramas with Mk6 owners in both wwatercooled and vwgolf.net forums.

this is currently the fastest Golf R in Australia, 300kw atw and 855nm of torque:

and this is currently the fastest Golf R32... R36 actually, and his is DSG:

    http://www.vwgolf.net.au/showthread....R-BUILD/page74

but both of these guys have upgraded clutch pack and DSG tunes.

VW group is now the biggest car maker company in the world, no doubt you will hear more problems compared to other manufacturers, given the number of cars they make ;-) yet there are still months of waiting to get certain models with specific factory options.

defeats the purpose of wanting to turbo a honda.

    some people just wouldn't understand.

there's a difference in buying a car factory boosted, and buying a naturally aspirated car and boosting it.

    the latter = win

    Not when you consider ownership.

Remember whatever you do to boos a NA car. The pre boosted can do better at the same cost.

The same would apply in terms of tuning in general.

    you still don't get it

it's not about having the fastest car, or the easiest/cheapest way to getting a boosted car..

its about being able to enjoy the rarity of a boosted VTEC-equipped vehicle, all the while having luxuries like sunroof, leather, creature comforts, great styling, etc.

Try getting a WRX with sunroof + leather + cruise control + CD stacker, etc.

Why do you even need VTEC if you are boosting? It defeats the purpose of having Vtec altogether, FI would make Vtec engagement obsolete

Serious question, because the other honda turbo (K23A1 in the Acura RDX), actually removed all exhaust Vtec components, and intake side is not a true vtec operation either.
