Legit HID system on a normal halogen set-up will cost like 2k. At least you'll have peace of mind that your claim won't be rejected if you crash and the other driver claims he couldn't see you or something.

Yup, you will need to install the HID washer (NSW legal requirement)

+ auto leveller (legal requirement for all cars fitted with HID / Xenon / BiXenon)
+ correct HID headlight projectors from the Luxury model
    + correct bulbs (under 6000k I think?)
    - the HID washer is apparently not required in the USA and IMO they don't really do much good unless you drive on dirty / muddy / unsealed roads or never wash your car.. it is also annoying when your car is recently washed then you need to spray your windscreen and the jetwashers also spray water onto your headlights.. and bonnet!

somehow Autobarn in Underwood Brisbane sells these HID conversion bulbs and in order to protect themselves they put a sticker "NOT FOR ROAD USE" and they also sell wheel spacers too!

it annoys me when i get blinded by an oncoming car with illegally fitted HID bulbs in their halogen headlights... and unfortunately the a lot of them are Jazz / Civic / widebody Accord...

The worst thing about the aforementioned cars is the reflector setup of the HID's. They cause way excessive glare - the HID's in these cars don't make you look cool, they make you look like a wanker.

The V6 Accord Luxury does have the reflector housing but it was specifically designed to cut out glare (surprised me as I most cars have projectors).

Don't even get me started on 55W HID fog lights.

I was surprised whenever I read this kind of message because aftermarket HID on those cars are not that bad compare to an OEM HID on a 4WD SUV coming your way... I was blinded by Q7 and the likes (big tall car) eventhough I'm on a CX9. I blink at them (because I thought they forgot to turn of their high beam), but they blink at me back (which prove that I was blinded by their OEM HID low beam)

12000k high beams would just be purple wouldn't it? Not necessarily bright?

6000k is the whitest. The higher you go, the more blue/purple it gets. I know 2 people with 12000k low beams, it's purple lol. Can't see sh*t
