EK4 chassis any difference to EK1?

Is there any difference between the EK4 chassis and the EK1 chassis?

I'm referring to structural differences in the unibody,

i.e. things like thicker rear wheel arches, more spot welds like the Type-R's

Or are they the same shell bar the sunroof?

Example of what I'm referring to (this is for EK9 tho)

    P.S can anyone translate

Should be the same, only difference would be the sun roof. If the chassis was different, facelift conversions would involve welding and cutting.

EK4 rear subframe has a thicker plate for RSB mounting vs. EK1 chassis. in terms for the unibody, should be same.

Yeah - its just a tiny piece of threaded metal either side so that the swaybar mount can join onto the subframe. Apart from that - afaik the chassis is the same

    Do it

You will change everything ....brakes , engine , rear swaybar + bracing etc....
Might as well start with a significant saving on initial cost !

I'd say go with the EK1 shell, unless you really want a sunroof. The extra plate on the rear subframe on the EK4 will be redundant as you would probably get a brace for your bigger RSB anyways.
Also, if you get CXI model, you'll probs change to discs, so bigger brakes on the EK4 wouldn't justify the extra cost for one.

Go with EK4 because 4 is a bigger number than 1

Never cared for sunroofs, actually would rather no sunroof.. that extra weight would suck

EK4 interior would be nice tho and the engine looms are getting harder to find.

Only concerned about differences in the shell as almost everything else will be getting replaced
