i realise i'm stating the obvious, but have you looked into the puddymod diffs...for ideas/comparison or something? they've got very good reputation.
edit: it's about time someone in aus starting looking into s2k diffs. thanks for that. i personally have never had any issues, but if i was planning on modding my car or using it far more...spiritedly...i would want to do something about the diff before anything happened to it, rather than after. in saying that, after reading your article none of the current options you discussed (comptech etc.) caught my attention as much as puddymod's service so you might want to look at that.
