nah, thats the easy way out, dont you reckon? i would rather learn to drive it properly with throttle control etc. a better suspension balance would help though

Curtis, are you talking about the ap1? I've just jumped into your convo with Bbf lol.

Ages ago I drove my mates ap1 and he had horrible Tyres and his felt floaty. Not sure if this is what you guys are talking about or not lol hope so.

My ap1 has awesome Tyres and that feels great around corners

OK guys lets go off topic.

the Ap1 floaty feeling i get is when u break near the last moment before a turn (or in a turn, if u pussy out) then the weight shifts to the front since the front springs on the ap1 are softer then the rear by a lot! (02-04 models are slightly stiffer fronts but still softer than the rear).
so when u brake there is no weight on the back and it feels like flicking out.

so the answer is to keep power on so that the backwheels are keeping up (not dragging the gearbox/engine), we dont have these problems in FWD cars since the rear end just follows, but in the s2000 the backwheels can start doing the braking if ur foot is off the accelerator mid turn, it leads to lift off over steer (a very easy to achieve lift off oversteer). less experienced ppl will keep the car in a higher gear so the engine braking to the rear wheels is less, if ur good you can keep it in a lower gear and be ready to catch the power oversteer. your basically stuffed either way it wants to kick out at the limit.

I had to 'keep the power on' in the lude in order to avoid oversteering as well

just gotta not let that weight transfer happen

Maybe this thread should be retitled to the s2k discussion thread
