it makes sense so that means the Gov't will do the complete opposite of that.

Buy the model recommended in your manual (NGK iridium IIRC, but I don't know the model number).
$5 or $25, over the span of 100,000KM, you'll still end up paying the same price.
I've heard people recommend copper over iridium because it sparks better, but didn't have anything to quantify that claim....."it just sparks better".

Agreed, you get what you pay for. Iridium spark plugs might be hard to come by. Normal spark plugs are quite easy to find. But in the end, between the two options, you get the same value. Copper plugs are for racing application as far as I know. They die pretty quickly. As for FDs, its hard to get to the spark plugs so get iridium spark plugs if you can LOL

it's based on theory. Cooper is the best conductor of electricity (well actually gold is.. but yeah)

iridium is produced with higher manufacturing tolerances and produces a more consistent spark

Errr. What tool did you use? Its cover is like under the black part at the bottom of the windscreen. So hard to get to LOL well, for me at least. For other cars, I just had to pull the cable and get a socket down. Done. For FDs, different story LOL
