Sorry to go off topic, but here I go:
Running low on petrol can suck gunk from the bottom of the tank and into the fuel filter or injectors, which I'll spare you the details of why this is a really bad thing. Also some cars (cars with pumps inside the tank) often rely on a certain ammount of fuel in the tank to cool the fuel pump. Your pump could overheat and starts a fire in the fuel tank. In which case you do need the right mix of fuel and air to cause an explosion, but it is possilbe.

You've got an after market alarm don't you? It's the easiest way to wire them up in a DA9 hook the boot and door circuits together, only problem is the boot open light comes on when the doors are open, and the interior light comes on when the boot is open, which I actually like anyway.

All old hondas that I've come across have the magic fuel gauge. No idea why, just get used to it and live with it, my daily's gauge can move about an 1/8 of a tank randomly up and down at any point, which is ****ing annoying and has already cost me 1 fuel pump, well it will when I get around to fixing the ****ing thing.

i get about 500-520 out of a tank and run on vortex and i don't have a door light sensor on my dash to say my doors are open only a boot one and for a fuel light i only think the usdm acuras have them and the xsi or something similar to that

    ^^ this is partially right

as to sucking gunk to the injectors thats why there is a filter to stop the gunk from reaching the filters, worse case you would have a clogged up filter and probably wont get the desired pressure out of the system, or the car just wont start if the filter is clogged up hard thus not allowing fuel to flow up to the injectors, trust me on this one I'm speaking from experience coz it hapened to my car.

and as to the tank exploding I dont think it could, what would actually hapen is that the fuel pump will run hot and most likely sease up and stup working, but by the time this hapens you most likely hear the pump making whynning sounds then next thing you know the pump is farked.
