It's not required but I'd recommend it because the original end links are the biggest pain in the arse to remove so it'll make it easier in future if u wanted to part out or adjust it etc.

Carbing front strut tower brace. J'sracing rear strut tower brace and j's racing c pillar brace. Made the car feel extremely solid. A rear subframe brace is a good upgrade aswell. I run a Function7 one.

I don't have a front strut brace because i've got a gruppe intake and from what I know, only the J's racing strut will fit over the Gruppe M.

and to be honest, the J's racing front strut doesn't really look appealing to me when it comes to doing anything. not sure why, but that's the feeling i get when i look at it.

I've already got a C-pillar.

What I'm thinking, is there any braces for under the car? like one of those 4 point braces or something?

hehe hence chiming in. I can't articulate the feel very well.

I have driven an EP3 without the brace but it's not like I was hooning, I was just driving around.

Even just driving around there was a difference with the brace - it wasn't a HUGE difference but I could feel a change at lower and higher speeds.....

When I initially got my EP3 it had oem suspension + brace.

After a while I installed Tien HA's to the car.

The front felt tight before installing the coils but after adding coilovers the front did feel a fair bit more precise, tighter and responsive.

Mind you, I still have to play with my suspension settings

hey guys,

I'm in the process of importing an EP3 with Iron Chef Imports. I'm looking for a black FL model, but am willing to get a Pre-FL if it takes too long to find a Black FL, since they would be pretty rare.

Has anyone driven both the Facelift and Pre-Facelift model? I know Honda made some good changes with the FL version. Is there much of a difference between how each drives?

Will it be worth the wait for a facelift model to pop up?

Cheers

stienerv2

straight from wiki

"2004 saw this successful CTR updated with many improvements - revised EPS with quicker steering, revised suspension settings, projector headlamps (JDM came equipped with halogens only while the EDM came with an option for HIDs with self-levelling motors), lighter clutch and flywheel assembly etc.; based on Honda literature, this facelifted (FL) model was targeted at addressing customers' and critics' feedback such as understeer on the limit (due to the front MacPherson strut setup), numb steering response and lack of low end torque."

Currently building up a brake refresh on the EP3 but trying to line some details up, ive googled around but just want to be sure... It all says to be the same.. But haven't found no AUS info mentioning our JDM EP3..

Would then Brake Pads also be the same?

Either way just ordered in some Project MU NS400's from Racer Industries, great upgrade over the base dixels in there atm.. Was looking at the HC800's but the car doesn't do any track/hills so just seemed excessive.

I've owned and EP3 for about a year now and i have some issues with bump steer.
At slow speeds, over bumpy roads the cars steers violently to the left and I hear slight knocks.
Also the steering wheel is not centered, (pulls to the right, when i try and center it)

I have had the wheel alignment done twice now and it corrects it for a while, but after a couple of weeks it goes back.

So far i have done the top mounts, sway bar end links and wheel alignment.
Nothing seems to have fixed it for good.
Wondering if it is worth doing the steering rack slider and ball joints? as these can cause issues as well
Or maybe just go somewhere and get a proper alignment?

The car is running stock suspension and aftermarket wheels 17x7.5 +40

Any advice would be much appreciated :)

If wheel alignment isn't fixing your issue, you may need to check out for worn bushing and suspension components.

If wheel alignment isn't fixing your issue, you may need to check out for worn bushing and suspension components.

For the record got the wheel alignment done today, all four wheels. The rear toe was out by 3mm and front was out by 1mm.
It feels better, but there is still slight bump steer at slow speeds.

I think you are right though. So far I've replaced the front sway bar drop links and top mounts.
I've had the suspension checked and there is no play in any suspension components.
I suspect it is the steering rack slider due to the play in the steering wheel when the car is stationary.

Finally i was able to have the steering rack slider replaced. Had the rack regressed as well.
It has made a big difference. There is no play or slop in the steering anymore, it is alot more direct.
There is heaps less bump steer and the wheel self centers easier.
It drives in a straight line nicer as well, without having to adjust the wheel so often.

Got my mechanic to show me the part, it was cracked, basically fell apart in his hands.

It has taken while but finally got to the bottom of it. Just thought id post this up in case anyone else was having the same issues.

Torque Steer is like 1/2 the fun of owning an EP3/DC5.

How much did the parts cost and how was the labour cost expensive?

Thanks

The part was like $50. I bought it from Tegiwa (http://www.tegiwaimports.com/genuine-honda-steering-slider-civic-type-r-ep3-integra-dc5.html)
Labour was pretty good too @ $160.
It does involve taking out the steering rack. Or at least moving it into position where you can get a spanner to change the part. There are a few DIY tutorials on the web, but i wasnt game enough to try.

Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has used depo headlights for their ep3.
I've found a pair on eBay from US and just have a few questions:
How are they to install?
Will it make a difference to the strength of light because they're designed for driver right-hand side or will it be ok to fit to our models?
Cheers

At 90km/h mine sits just above 3200 RPM. Pretty sure that I have the standard final drive installed.

installed bc br coilovers on my ep3 last weekend. its currently on no.24 dampening setting (8 from the hardest) all round.
just wondering what everyone else has theirs set at? im still playing with it to find the best comfort. only down point currently is that my front driver side tyre rubs on slight bumps. if i go stiffer on the front, will it prevent the scrubbing?

also the driver side seems to be slightly lower than passenger side, maybe by like 8-10mm. is that coz of the engine weight being on right hand side?
any input would be good! thanks!

Does anyone know part numbers for door lock actuators for EP3 (pre-facelift)? My passenger side has stopped working and the drivers side seems to hesitate a little, keen to replace both.
