i hate it when car dealer say : if you are serious we can sit down and work through the deal.
as if they open a shop in the supermarket everyone just walk in with no reason.
btw i've got quote 48k for lux and 40k for standard, after a series of "if you are serious" questions.

Just a quick question about delivery, my dealer won't do it on a Saturday, only during the week. Is this normal?
I was told because of the price I got on the Euro they can't take someone off the floor for 45mins going over the car on a Saturday.
Last Saturday they delivered a Lux Euro to a customer so I guess customer service comes at a price...
Not too sure about that.... as i got mine on a weekday.. But i do know there is a list of things they need to take you through and once the checklist has been done ... you need to sign off that sheet for the salesman.Quote:

I think those surveys have a well hidden reference number on them that enables Honda to know whose survey it is. Be afraid. And also, when you get your new car for a low price, if you go back to same dealer for service, they keep track of how much you owe them and they get it back off you over time. Actually I found the first service on my CU2 quite amusing. I had it booked in first thing so I could wait for it (and keep an eye open on the car). There is a great position for seeing what is happening if toy know where to go. All that was done was my car was moved around to the rear parking lot where it was quite visible. It sat there for !/2 hour and all that was done was the service sticker on the windscreen was changed, they didn't even lift the bonnet. They then gave the car a very quick wash (i had given it a good wash the previous day) so the car was returned to me not as clean as when it arrived.
Oh well, nothing new in that and they will not see the car again as i will do all servicing personally from now on. It helps to be a licensed mechanic.

100% the bonnet was not lifted, no road test. all that was done was change the service sticker & give it a quicky wash, so in fact it was not as clean as when I took it there. The car was in sight the whole time while I was waiting.......they just didn't know I went up a side alley to watch......so I'm a cheeky old bugger.....lol

I recall someone advising me on this forum that Honda use a special Run in oil, hence they do not require an oil change at 1000km Free service.... Which is probably why its free cos they do not change any oil etc.
I was thinking of replacing the Oil at about 5000km or there abouts as well, If not then i leave it till 10,000Km then use Fully Synthetic.
Is anyone able to confirm the Run in Oil that Honda use? Was this the same with the CL9's? and late models from honda?
Hmmm from the log book of my Civic, on 1000kms doesnt stated any oil change. just make sure that everythin ok.
So maybe they did change the type of Oil they use for the run in..... So 10K change and not 1K oil change. Might ask a friend who works at the dealer if you knows..
personally. i would never go 10,000km between oil changes, regardless of the type of oil being used. Sure, many would consider it over servicing, but it is cheap preventative maintenance. For me it is oil change & filter every 5,000km. If you use genuine Honda FEO Oil, Filter & washer its $48 bucks & a few minutes of your time.

Getting back on topic, I picked up in early Feb my CU2 09 Euro Luxury Nav Black Auto with mats, rear parcel tray and rear wing spoiler for $46,300 drive away with 5 year warranty and road-side assist. Col Crawford - Brookvale.
Trust me mate... me and a mate has this problem before with us claiming warranty and the services are not done by Honda (and our service was done with a non-Honda service center, not by ourself) and they try their best to avoid in fixing our problems (note: my problem is 6 CD Stackers stuff up and my mates was the "driver side windows cant be closed", both on Civic and both are very much happens to most civic FD owner).Quote:

:) I know what you're saying. I had a stuffed rotor on my Type R and the Honda service centre tried to blame the car alarm that I had installed by a third party. Through some perserverance Honda took responsibility and changed the rotor under warranty.
I think it also depends on the Honda service centre. I've used two different Honda service centres and one is much better than the other at identifying and fixing problems (one took two goes at fixing the rotor problem with no success and tried to blame the alarm, the other fixed it straight away and I have not had a problem since).

In NSW a mechanic has to be licensed, The workshop needs to be licensed as well. My recommendation to people is that they get the minor servicing done at a place like Ultra Tune (a minor service is just an oil change & i recommend getting it done every 5,000km, you supply genuine Oil & Filter & keep receipts). Then get major services done at Honda Dealer (40, 60, 120,000km etc).
Any work carried out by an unlicensed person can void warranty.
