A quick Google comes up with a few comments about Mobil being the oil provider for Honda. It doesn't surprise me.

I am with Buddha on the oil changes, I am waiting however until after the pinging issue is resolved before touching it myself. From then on it will get full synthetic though and not the Honda oil, I believe, like most manufactuer brands such as Nissan and Toyota its just relabelled crap.

Oh and only turbo diesel and all my turbo performance cars are the same, except the rotor which is every 1-3,000km depending on use...lol

I would rather do it myself than leave it to the 15 year old first year apprentice at the dealership. They probably pay the apprentice $10 per hour, but charge us $50

Changing engine oil is not exactly rocket science. It's just yucky and inconvenient. It's easier to pay a prole* to do it. It gives someone a yucky job.

    * "The Party's slogan in regard to proles is Proles and animals are free......That is mostly due to a fact that proles were not considered to be human beings. They did not have the intellectual power to understand that they are exploited by the Party (as a source of cheap labour) and were unable and/or unwilling to organize resistance. Their functions were simple: work and breed. They did not care much about anything else than taking care of home and family, quarrelling with neighbours, watching films and football, drinking beer, and buying lottery tickets....."

A little oil on your hands is no big deal, it's not as bad as playing in the garden or cleaning fish. A little laundry detergent to wash hands, 30 minutes work & you have saved $100 +

Lol! Go for it. As I said, it's not rocket science but I'm over changing oil in my old age.
