quick question,
how do you guys mount a single din cd player in your DAs?
ontop or below the tray?
because my deck and tray aint sitting right lol
both slightly sagging and when i hit vtec the deck moves because i have nowere to mount it
any suggestions?
pics?
on top, then ive taped it, to the storage thingy
doesnt move at all,
what i did was take of the bottom of the original cassete deck (bit which is held by two screws at the back) and glue that to the mounting sleeve of the cd player, so it sits exactly were the original sat. btw its a bitch to get off but worth it
I got a stereo install kit from jb hi-fi to fit mine
here's a link to what it looks like http://shopping.yahoo.com/4107516-am...onal-hon-k828/
yeah i got a sterio install kit from supercheap. worked a dream.
you should make up a bracket that screws to the back of the unit and then in to the frame that goes around the back of the DIN area.
Just use a thin metal strip that you can get at any stereo install place ( maybe supercheap?), they even have holes pre punched.
Oh and hi to another Adelaide DA9er!- Ben11
thought I would post up some pics of my $700 beauty-
ahhhh, its time to rebuild my gearbox,
anyone know where i can get syncros from?
and a good place in sydney that does gearboxes?
no worries, PM me what you want and if I decide one way or another I'll get back to you.
ok cheers will give it a go asap
I am sure I had a writeup somewhere....maybe its a some 100 page back when i did my projector fitment i wrote something about it. I used a hair dry and have to be patient when u take lenses out.
using hair dryer or heat gun will make sure you won't melt anything else unnecessary. but that means you can only lift up a section of the lense at a time.
I need some help atm
I need a VIN number for DA9 Integra LS
I did a Brake swap on ED9 Aus spec crx 242mm front brakes to 262mm front brakes DA9 Integra LS
i bought a set of ARP Long wheel studs and need to press out and brake the wheel bearing to fit the new long wheel studs on my hub
If anyone would be nicer enough can you PM me your VIN number for your DA9 Integra LS
Thanks pat
i know i dont have enough rep to post for sale but im wrecking a complete running da3 sx16 if anyone is interested please pm me im trying to sell some parts.
I am not sure exactly what you are after, but if you need a front wheel bearing just go to CBC Bearings and ask them. The part number is HO125A suits DA9 Integra, and should be about $65 each.
I have a spare but if I read correctly you need 2, plus i would be unwilling at this stage to part with it in case I decide to fix up the red car.
BTW- I believe Honda ask about $160 a pop.
just go to cbc bearings in silverwater
that what i have been quote from one of parts i my work who use to work for honda
Thanks for vin number again
Pat :)
I would be happy to part with the steelies off the red car if you are interested.
keeping the stock alloys from my grey car though, they are still in mint condition and I wanna keep them that way.
yo any1 got a da9 wreck? i need front steering and suspension parts to fix my car after hitting a curb
cheers
not yet man been lazy lol. gona see how much it will cost to fix up the bent wheel issue, otherwise ill be buying a SSS pulsar
does anyone know if ek civic rotors are the same size as the da ones?
i think i found the answer for that one
ek civic
f:262 x 21
r:239 x 9
da integra
f:262 x 21
r:239 x 9
according to dba
http://www.dba.com.au/product-search
got my hands on some neat parts.
buddyclub racing spec exhaust from a dc2r
dc2r brakes and 5 stud.
oem dc2r floor matts (all 5 pieces)
and rear lcas!!!
now my question is, where can i get a rebuild kit for the dc2r brakes?
If you are going to do all that then you might want to go the whole hog and do the swap properly-
http://technet.ff-squad.com/how-to/5lug.ef-da/
This is NOT just a bolt on swap, if you bolt on then you will have camber issues that cant be corrected by just a simple kit, lowering does help a lot though
So disappointed, my DA9 failed roadworthy for the second time. First time there was a shitload of issues, this time there are two:
A clunking noise from the rear end. This might actually have been tools in the spare wheel compartment moving around, otherwise it's probably bolts torqued incorrectly.
Other one is a perished 'linkage' bushing from the rear suspension, I'm guessing this is the pivot bushing connecting the LCA to the chassis. I'm going to get all of the LCA bushings pressed out because I don't want to spend 12 hours of my life burning the rubber out and then hacksawing the shells, anyone know a machine shop in the SE suburbs of Melbourne?
Need to buy another fscking unregistered vehicle permit too...
i tried searching specs of fuel pumps, but couldnt find anything
would i benefit if i instaloled a dc2r fuel pump in my DA?
Hey guys u know headlights with the angel eyes, HID bulb black projectors. and they have a hump on the high beam.
Just wondering any of you know what kind of HID BULB it uses?
nope just bolt the whole rear on. it will change the offset slightly i believe, as the DC2R has a slightly wider track (hubs sit wider)
fronts are the harder part.
Also- you only need a fuel pump if you are upgrading to much higher power or the pump is getting old and cant push the pressure anymore.
hi just wondering what ecu i have the build year is 91 and my vin no. looks like JHMEG218OOS######, from what i have read this is the P75 OBD-1?
thanks in advance
On your engine harness are the plugs clear/yellow or grey? The latter is OBD-1.
so i officially hate honda's brake proportioning valves ><
I went through making this swap, good not so long ago (car had just been slammed on itr front knuckles).
you want to get a new pair of front wheel bearings to suit da9.
then you get the front itr hubs machined to suit your new da9 wheel bearings.
and then press the itr hub/da9wheel bearings onto your standard da9 front knuckles.
this will give you an oem alignment at standard ride height.
oh yeah and watch out for gutter rash, this widens the track of your da9.
brake proportioning valve doesn't need to be changed, but the master cylinder does if you want real nice pedal feel.
rear you just bolt up the itr trailing arms and you're done.
Hey all,
Thought I'd throw this open to the forum as I need some opinions. I'm currently riding on Koni Yellow/ Ground Control combo with camber kit and looking to add a bit more to my suspension.
These are the options I'm thinking of:
1. ASR subframe brace with 24mm rear sway (approx$390US ex deliv.)
2. ST combo front (24mm) and rear(19mm) sway bars (approx $280US ex deliv)
3. Some form of front strut bar + just the 19mm rear sway from ST with no subframe brace (approx $300-350US ex deliv)
What do you reckon is the best bang for buck here? Is the front sway worth doing at the same time as the rear? I wish I was made of money and
could just go for the obvious - buy all of them! lol. Opinions appreciated, even more so if you've run any of these parts before.
Thx, Joe.
I was running exactly the same set up... although I dont have experience with all 3 combos above, i did find that a quality front strut brace + rear sway made a real noticeable difference to my handling
Cheers appreciate the feedback. Yeah cars feels really nice once its in the corner but would be good to minimise some of that initial body roll on turn in. I'm guessing the rear sway would help that?
And a little extra stability in the front could be found from the Front upper strut?
Would the difference be significant between say a Megan racing (cheapo) and Cusco Front strut? Oh yeah... did you upgrade the front sway too?
Thx mate.
if u want less roll then u need both front and rear sway bar.
strut doesn't stop ur car from rolling..only stops ur car from flexing while its rolling
strut will make the steering and the turn in tighter
sway will keep the car flatter
Leave the front swaybar stock and upgrade the rear. Roll resistance at either end will reduce body roll, and adding it at the rear will help reduce some understeer.
Strut bars are one of the worst bang for buck mods you can do.
Hey Jon,
have you changed out the MC for a DC2R one? Did you swap the whole Booster/MC combo or just swap the MC? I have just upgraded to 282mm fronts and it does feel slightly mushy at first but when you press the pedal a bit more it bites really well. I dont feel that modulating the brake is an issue at all either.
Just wondering if it is worth the hassle of getting in there to swap it all out (tis a bitch to access)
Hmm thx for the advice guys. Maybe I'd be better off investing a little more in the rear sway ( asr with brace perhaps ?) and leave the front sway and strut for now?
How big do you think you can go in mm before a subframe brace is required?
ST have a 19mm
Progressive make a 22mm
ASR offer a 24mm with subframe brace
Thx for the tips ay.
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53696
Mr_will has a 24mm brace without the asr brace, althought it does have some sorte of bracketing.
Thx for the link, I reckon anything over 22mm I'd need some sort of brace/subframe support. Cool to see people coming up with custom installs although I'm leaning towards this package now:

Cool, just got a quote $75 extra for shipping from the States. Not too bad. Would pull the pin right now if it wasn't rent week .. arrrgghh.
Will definately update when (if) it's installed.
i know i really shouldn't do this but, that was worth a lil rep no ?

hi I have two issues,
when i am turning the wheel hard lock to lock there is a vibration at the front of the dashboard above the firewall?
and also my brake pedal is normally fine but sometimes gets squishy, why is this and would a bleed fix it? thanks for the help
sounds odd bout the wheel man have u got oil in ur p/s?
ur second prob sounds like ur master cly might b buggered. u can try bleeding it but im pretty sure its stuffed
the master cly has a tandem setup inside so it runs 2 clyinders for the braking system so 1 goes to the front 1 for the rear if one fails you will loose half of ur braking system sometimes they bypass inbetween each other. so try bleeding it otherwise replace the master cly... unless u can see it leaking somewhere again unless being there its hard to say...
ive had one i did for a mate his would go straight to the floor sometimes but would come good if he kept pumping it back.
hey aman, how's your little business going with those bolts? found out if you can get them for lexus?
