17x9 +38 up front.
cr kais. dish rims can be different as offset and width do not neccesarily indicate clearance.

It should. I have a 50c coin width of clearance from caliper to spokes without extended studs and a 5 mm spacer
Before the 17" I had 18x7.5 cr Kai +48 offset which cleared (just) the calipers with the same spacer and extended studs so I'm sure ce28 will. Their quite concave once you get to 8" with with some decent offset
old set up Cr-Kai 18x7.5 +48 all round with a 5mm slip on spacer. the spokes ran flat against the caliper with like 2-3mm of clearance if that.
current set up Cr-kai 17x9 +38 with the same 5mm slip on spacer. same clearance as above close to the hub, however as the spokes go out toward the lip, it arches out giving more clearance from the middle of the caliper (where "spoon" is printed).
with the 17x9s i could just clear it without the spacer, but i was running extended studs, so the spacer was required to fully thread the wheel nuts.
hope that helps fellow ep3rdian
would 18x8 +15 and 18x9 +10 work on ep3? offset calc says theres more inner clearance but extending 43mm and 60mm from rear.
stock height
would 17x9 +38 on a 215/45 profile tyre work on the rears of an ep3, how much camber would i need to clear the trailing arm?
Planning to run 16x8 +20 on my FD. All guards are rolled and car is on eibach springs, any problems? Also what tyres would suit my setup? Thanks!
i dnt think there will be any problems since u have ur guards rolled but i could be wrong, judging from images i could find :)

Hi Guys,
I've tried doing a search but its pretty complicated and cannot find what I'm trying to look for.
Anyway, I own an EP3 and i bought 4 new Enkei RPF1 17x8.5+30 rims but not sure which tyre size I should be going for?
Can any of you please give me an advise like tyre size and if it would hit the guard etc? The car is standard height.
Thanks!
215/45 for looks
Fattest tyre you can find for track
thanks! :D
Can anyone help identify the cause of a scrubbing noise upfront. Running 17x8 et32 with about 1 finger gap. At first I thought it was the fender lining but further investigating ruled that out. Going straight it will scrub/ make a noise like a creaky door but its not constant, more like one creak per wheel revolution. At faster speeds it sounds like a knock. Only coming from left side and goes away when accelerating moderately or anything that makes Te car squat at the back or lean to the right. In fact I can feel each scrub through the footwell so unassuming something's scrubbing against the chassis for the vibrations to be felt. Not running any crazy camber and I've fit 9" wheels et38 upfront and this hasnt happened before.
Any answers are appreciated cheers
Hi guys. I am looking to purchase eneki rpf1 for my fd civic. they are 18 x 9 +35. Ive got stock suspension. will the wheels fit the car and what tyres should i use.. 225/40/18?? Thanksss
those specs will fit.. i had 18"rims with 225/40 tyres and dropped down by around 2cm and fit fine with no scrubs
Hi guys,
I just upgraded my wheels to 18X8.5+30 on the rear and +35 on front. My car is on stock height, and it seems to rub my guards when having passengers on the back and turning/going over humps. Would you rather recommended changing the rears to +35 or getting my guards rolled?
Also, what's the perfect tyre size recommended? Ozzy tyres gave me 215/35R18, which proves to be too small, but I really can't do anything now, beside buy new tyres...
Cheers.
shouldve went 225/40 or bigger
get ur guards rolled as uve already got ur rims unless u change exchange to +35
it should be no problem, u got ur guards rolled too and stock height would fit those tyres fine
use this http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
compared to ur old setup, 225/40 would raise ur car abit higher than stock, going 225/45 would raise it higher, due to the total circumference of the whole wheel being larger than ur stock
Considering my current wheel setup 18X8.5+35 with 215/40R18. I want to add spacers, what would be the perfect amount without needing to camber? I've also rolled my guards. I'm considering 15 or 20mm? Would 20mm cause to my problems?
Can you guys help me with these question. Thanks

And 1 more noob question. Different off set we will get different looking. Is it true? The wheel 17x9 which offset will you choose? +28 or +38
You would be fine running 17x8 +32. I Run the the same offset and width with 225/45 tyres without too many problems
Suspension: coilovers
Guard Modifications: rolled guards
Issues with Setup: scrubbing guard lining on bumps
As of the 17x9 +28 I'm not too sure but i assume you would need a fait bit of camber to fit that
Car Model: FD
Front Wheel and Tyre Size: 18x8.5 +37 and tyres 225/40R18

Hey guys wondering if the wheel setup would fit without any scrubbing or any problems?
Thanks in advance :)

Rear Wheel and Tyre Size: 18x9 +32 and tyre 225/40R18

Hey guys wondering if I should get 225/40 tyres or 215/40 tyres? I will be rolling the rear guards soon. Will I run into problems with the 225/40 tyres with this setup? thanks :)
Hey Guys,
Stupid question but what lug nut size does an FD civic use?
I have Accord Euro CL7 Sports wheels on it atm and im looking into getting some Rays Engineering
Lugnuts for it.
Or can i just get an set of 20?
Why cant this setup run with coils? Isnt 17x7+55 (195 tyres instead of 225)Quote:
Car Model: FD
Front Wheel and Tyre Size: 17x7+55 and 225/45/17
Rear Wheel and Tyre Size: 17x7+55 and 225/45/17
Suspension: Stock
Guard Modifications: None
Issues with Setup: Cannot run with coils
the standard wheel size?
Okay. thanks
hey guys, got 17x8.5+30 on the rear of my ep3 with a 225/45/17. Question is, im scrubbing on -2 camber and was wondering how I go about removing or grinding down the rear bumper tabs ? (my guard roll clears the tyre)
Hey guys what Will I need to fit 17x9 +35 BBS LMs
I've decided to run 225 rear and 215 front
I know I would need camber arms for rear and need my guards rolled.
Was wondering what else is needed or changes to be made for this to fit
Car currently running 215/45/17 F&R
front; 1.5" drop
Rear; 1.4" drop
Springs
Maybe 215/40/17 just to be safe ~
I wonder what ingers are ;-)
*also hoping to make it to defqon this year*
Heres an update to my setup:
Car Model: Civic FD1
Front Wheel and Tyre Size: 18x9+32 225/40/18
Rear Wheel and Tyre Size: 18x9 +32 215/40/18
Suspension: Buddyclub N+ coilover lowered to tuck one finger tyre
Guard Modifications: Front and rear guards rolled flat. Rear bumper tab shaved.
Issues with Setup: Front wheels rub a little on fast turns and midcorner bumps (thinner tyre might help). No problems with rear even with full load.
Anyone know a good website that sells good genuine Japanese wheels? or someone in Melbourne besides OTR
Preferable in the 17" range. doesnt matter if second hand or not.
Thanks
Hey guys! I'm new to this forum and this is going to be my first post LOL I just wanted to ask if my Enkei RPF1's 17x9 +45 with 225/45/17 tyres will scrub etc. fuel lining, struts? I'm also running the car on stock suspension. Thanks!
Hey guys what kind of suspension setup would i need to achieve a drop leaving a 1-1.5 finger gap? what i mean is how much i should be lowering the car
Currently running 18x8.5 +37(front) / +42 (rear) and tyre 225/40R18
Thanks!
You can just get lowered springs but I would personally get coilovers. My theory is Do it once, Do it right.
I know its expensive but its worth it. You can adjust your height down to the last mm you want it to be. Also has Damper
adjustment which is very handy.
And as for your wheels. I think if you drop your car 1.5" you will most likely rub unless you go for 215/40/18 tyres.
Car Model: 2004 EP3R

Rear Wheel and Tyre Size: 18x8 +45 225/40/18 continental Contac 3 Sports
Suspension: Bilstein Shocks stock Springs Whiteline adjustable 24mm rear swaybar
Guard Modifications:None
Issues with Setup: None
I was stock hight but no problems at all mind you I had camber bolts in front and camber top links in rear with a custom wheel alignment no problems what so ever
I was running 1 deg front and 1.5 rear which is less then stock to improve rear end grip.
Hey fellas, just a quick question.
if i run 17 x 8 +32 wheels with 225/45 on stock height/no guards rolled.
will i have problems? i've had a quick look in this thread, and issues i may expect is just full car/dips or potholes
most probably if i hit a big dip/bump.
how about full car?
need quick response please, thanks heaps in advance, will give rep.
Its almost guaranteed to hit not so much if your car is not full, but when loaded for sure
My setup was about 2mm of the guard from memory

... Just to save people going through the 500 odd posts.
There is a lot more information in there, I've purely quoted the informative posts, there are some post throughout the pages where its been chit-chat over 5 posts with "should be" "maybe" "could" but no definite, I haven't quoted those.
Good work on collating all that info lolmclol
Found a handy "Wheel Fitment, Tyre Stretch, Rolling Radius and Speedometer Error" calculator, which allows you to kind of visualise how your new wheel/tyres will sit, in relation to your old wheel.

Please take note of the note about the positioning of the strut: The strut shown in the diagram is for show only - Don't worry if the wheel looks like it fouls!

Anyone can help me out with this? I want to run 195/50 but afraid it might run heaps. Thinking of adding 15mm spacers on as well.
Quick question guys.
Will 235/45/17 fit on stock EP3 wheels 17x7+45. Have an opportunity to buy a 2nd hand set for decent price. But after doing some research they may be too wide for stock wheels.
Anyone have any experience with this size on a 17x7 wheel?
once i hacked the fuel cell cover i was 100% gravy. 3 people in the back, no probs.
To be honest, I don't know how it will look but the issue I can see is you'll have more tread which will increase the amount of resistance when you're driving thus using more fuel and maybe throwing off the speedo?
I'm probably wrong, but I'm pretty sure that is right.
FYI: The stock tyres are 205/45/17.
would a 255/40/17 tyre fit on a FD civic? 17x8s rim
Please help !!
Thanks
No. The tyre does not suit the rim.
My new setup on pulled guards:
