Same here, except I was up till midnight hoping I could catch it then I went to my Honda dealer yesterday hoping the new Jazz's would be hiding some ware out back unfortunately not. I did however managed to take home one of Honda's advertising packages for the new Jazz.
It really is marketed towards women I think or highly feminine men because the pack contains Garnier body tonic and wipes, awsome little Jazz lollies and the product flyer.

I totally don't understand why they need to directly market towards women. Women love the Jazz already, and I would hazard a guess that most of the Jazz buyers are women. 10 of my friends who owns a Jazz 8 of them are girls.
I think for those guys that genuinely wanted the new Jazz may be put off from their new marketing direction. Honda fans would understand that the Jazz is a nice car, so when they see a male driving the new Jazz they wouldn't think they're "homo" but as tv ads, magazine ads appear in the marketplace with all girly connotations and imagery, those other "motor enthusiasts" who see males driving the new Jazz would think they are pansies!

I'm man enough to drive a pansie car!
Got a test drive organised tomorrow dude... I'll let you know how I go. Think Marlys is going to do it through novated lease with another half dozen birds at her work who are also after one...
so not sure about going together for a bit of a deal.

Where is the new Jazz?

OK, guys, what am I missing? There is so much info on this forum and common people (non-dealers) that have seen the car. Well, not in SA.
I spoken to a Nordic Honda dealer in Adelaide and he told me that they may have the new Jazz in the showroom on 18 Aug, but no test drives until 29 Aug. Formula Honda (also SA) claims no cars in the showroom until 29 Aug. No pricing, no prospects.
Please share your experiences from interstate.

lol the jazz is a chicks car for sure!
im not biased, i just tell it how it is.

I saw a truck with 2 new Jazz's on it drive past today on it's way to VonBibra Southport.
The Jazz is a car for those who don't like spending over $80 for a tank of fuel. Cost me $90 to fill the Euro and $43 to fill the Jazz with roughly the same amount of km's per tank. That's every week so Jazz = huge savings for me and will pay for itself in 5 years assuming 20% rise per year in petrol
Jazz: stock, K&N panel filter.
120 Series Prado GXL Petrol: Pacemaker extractors, Dual 2 1/4" exhaust, 70 series MT STZ's, ARB non-winch bullbar, snorkel, Dimpled and slotted rotors.

The preview magazine thing on Honda.com.au sure is aimed at women. Don't they want guys to buy the new Jazz?

Personally i do think the design of the new Jazz is bit feminine, but so was the older jazz, depends on if your masculine enough to pull it off =P
I haven't driven a Honda in years. :/ Does my honda lawn mower and whipper snipper count?

LOOOOOOOOOL yes when they are working they're fine, not amazing but fine.
however they are the most unreliable transmission put into any honda for the last 10yrs, the last trans to be this bad was the CVT on the HRV
i believe honda was scrapped the jazz cvt for 2 reasons
- the aust market in general doesnt understand how a cvt works and are so accustomed to regular autos it just feels weird to them
- as stated above honda has spents thousands of dollars repairing and replacing cvts, whereas most of their standard autos are very good.
on an interesing note honda is apparently keeping the cvt for the japanese market which i find quite odd as all the other markets are 5AT

as a guy that has driven both cars i much prefer the new one. it's a bit more modern looking and less grandma/girlfriend spec

Yes, very true. Looking at the other forums here for the Civic, CRV etc, no one complains about transmission problems. So I guess it will be better to save face..

Yeah, this was very interesting. I think the JAP drivers are much better. They have a lot more 'mechanical sympathy' than us western drivers!

got a call from dealer few days ago, and told me new VTIS auto is roughly costs 25k on road and man one 23k. and i maybe take a closer look and have testdrive later, but i don't think is good idea to buy it when it just release, not much room to bargain as it is very very new to be introduce.
