    intake air temp wiring..

hey guys.. ok well i have had the conversion now for a while.. but im trying to find out bout hooking up the intake air temp sensor..

    B18C7 with EK4 harness S300 which is in P72 A01 ecu..
does the harness have this sensor or do i have to hook it up directly to the ecu.. any help would be great.......

the EK4 harness will have the IAT connector near the Dizzy connector on a length of wire wrapped in conduit. the IAT on an EK4 goes in the Intake Tube not the Intake manifold. The connector is a black 2 pin connector.

You have to change the connector to suit the IAT on the manifold of the B18C and lengthen the wire to reach it.

any chance of knowing the colour of the wires?? i have a feeling that it is connected to something else but im not sure what.. the ecu is not bringing up any error codes so thats why im a bit confused... there is a 2 pin round connector sitting on the passneger side of the intake mani doing nothing, what would that be?

black/yellow usually denotes 12V,so its prob for one of the emiision control solenoids like purge or something.
u cant find a red/yellow wire in a 2pin plug plugged up to something else?
what about near the intake arm as ecu-man says?

even check for a red/yellow wire at the ecu end,if its there it will appear at the motor end.

if u have a look at the ECT,it will be red/white + another green/??? wire, the exact colour of that green wire will be the same as the IAT,its a common ground(same green wire appears at TPS as well)

depends how u want to setup your emissions gear, whether its spare or not, thats your choice.

if spare plug fits your IAT sensor then with a little wiring reconfig it could be an easy way to sort out your lack of real IAT plug if its been removed for some strange unknown reason.

ok i had a look and i do think its hooked upto some sorta purge that is sitting under the TB with hose going into the carbon canister....black square plug (red/yellow and green/???? wires.. im taking that is the IAT plug, now when wireing the plug up is there a certain way its to be wired? and is the purge going to be dramas when not connected or is there another plug floating around for that too???

you should really do a continuity test back to the ECU to ensure you have the correct wire before connecting it. you dont want to blow the ECU

doesnt matter which way iat plug is wired, its a thermistor(temp sensitive resistor) so polarity dont matter.

the other spare plug u found is prob the purge plug, see if u can see what pin the red wire goes to at ecu end to confirm.

not sure what obd2 will do with lack of purge solenoid hooked up,i assume it will CEL,but ecuman will know.
