Just be careful if you are to buy a euro now... FACELIFT is coming in like 3-4 mth so your euro's 3 yr resale will take a dive because of it...
Don't be surprised if Honda starts to push their existing stock at $31k driveaway
The auto tranny of new euros should be better than the pre 2011 stock. since it now runs on a new ATF fluid. The ATF-dw... A synthetic based fluid to counter common issues with dino ATF-z1 (more talent to stress and most importantly... More tolerant to tranny heat)

I don't know.. I don't think the facelift model will influence much on resale value of the existing one, compare with next generation one... When honda release 3rd Gen accord Euro, possibly in anotehr 2years time, yes i would say it would affect the current gen resale value. I don't know how many of you guys bought the CL9 for good bargain just prior to honda released the Cu2 in Jun 08..
This is just my view anyway... Another example subaru was selling the gen 4 liberty in Jan-March 09 with free leather seats and loads of feathers for 32k driveaway for auto as the Gen 5 liberty was released in sept 09..
-
Fredoops, all CU2 models, including the Acura TSX models, are built in Japan.
Honda have a Chineese assembly plant, which builds about 2500 Euros a month since late 2009.
They are called SPIRIORS in that market, and are the flagship of the range.
The facelift is very minor,3rd generation Euro due mid 2013.
-
The mid cycle facelifted version is already available in Japan. Goto to Honda Japan website and click on Accord for pics.
-
The facelift is allready in the US markets, and is being launched in Europe at the Geneva auto show this week.
We,as well as New Zealand and South Africa cannot be too far behind ???

Just noticed today in honda website, honda reduced the driveaway price for Euro all ranges by $1000. Now the base auto driveaway price is 35290... Not sure how much dealers can reduce much from this special price. THe standard accord price still remains same..

Considering that both Accord Euro and Acura TSX come out of the same factory in Japan Lets throw some numbers around... just to make things interesting.
1. The Accord Euro Lux Specs are pretty much the same as the base model Acura TSX (leatherseat sunroof, all the jazz)
2. The come out of same factory in Japan. product cost difference should be minimal.
3. Tariff: USA, 2.5% AUSTRALIA 5% (DECREASED FROM 10% LAST YEAR, kudos to Rudd)
On-road costs aside (which in USA is like $500 bucks... in total, compared to $3000 here...)
Distance between Aus to Japan and US to Japan is pretyt much the same, due to volume, it's probably cheaper to ship to USA than here...
Lets ignore the onroad costs and just focus on the listed car price (average on road cost for car in USA is $500 odd... compared to $2-3000 here)
Listed RRP base price of Acura TSX Auto: $29,610 USD ( which is $29102 AUD , Exchange rate: $1USD=$0.98287AUD)
Listed RRP base price of Euro Lux Auto: $41,290 AUD (which is $42,009 USD, using same exchange rate as above)
Now adjust the Acura TSX price to show how much it would cost if USA has the same Tariff rate as Australia (5% instead of 2.5%)
$29,610 USD * 1.025 = $30,350 USD (which is $29,830 AUD, using same exchange rate as above)
SO after adjusting the Tariff. A Euro Lux Auto is $41,290 AUD, a Acura TSX Auto is $29,830 AUD, thats a $11,460 difference!!
Even if you do count in the "specials" honda australia is givign out at the moment... which is $2,090 (source: discountnewcars.com.au)
It's still a $9000 difference before looking at onroad costs...
And dont give me that ADR compliance rubbish. it doesnt cost 10 grand car to comply with ADR, not a Honda, and not at this volume.
I'm telling you, Honda makes s*** load more money selling Euros here than USA or Europe for that matter.

Showroom condition. It had $38990 on the windscreen which was designed to be "squeezed" to $37000. After another two hours of me not giving them a decision, they eventually gave me $4000 more for my trade than it was actually worth, in order to finally close the deal. I still have to pay $1100 in rego transfer, so I guess it cost me about 34K on the road, which I would class as excellent value, but maybe the 2nd-hand deals are there to be had at the moment. I pick up the car tomorrow.
Were tinted windows standard on the 2009 Euro Luxury or was that an extra that was added to mine?

I've now been driving my car for a day - it is wonderful! I will never know why the guy before me spent in the vicinity of $10K on accessories, but I'm certainly not complaining - it looks pretty amazing (I haven't seen one like it on the road in silver) and the sports steering wheel and sports pedals are great! (Even so, exchanging a leather steering wheel with another leather steering wheel seems ever so slightly loopy to me). The car drives like a dream (actually a lot better than a brand new one I test drove) and better than I remembered. Once I reset the hi-fi to flat, with just a touch of extra sub, the sound system is very nice, even against my fairly unreasonable standards (I have a home sound system with the replacement value of a small car). Inside, the car it is almost indistinguishable from new. Outside it is completely as new.
I was pretty sure I had scored a bargain. Now I'm sure of it.
By the way, looking at the new Accord styling on the Japanese website, I think my car looks sexier.

CONGRATS, now before you pickup ask the dealers to make sure they use the new transmission oil ATF-DW in the autotrans instead of the leftover ATF-Z1 old oil, because ATF-Z1 is discontinued so when it's up for oil top up for auto transmission it'll get the ATF DW so you might as well have them put in th better oil in the first place.
Also think about swaping out the dino oil to the honda ultra syn full synethic oil on your 1k service.
They should haven an issue with it since we're charged a $10k premium on them euros compared to the states.
