1.) the headlights seem to have a blue section which would seem like a park light..but there are no lightglobes in there..as it seems we have another park light..but i was wondering if anyone knows if we can add some globes in that section?

2.) i read on another forum that we can actually choose a greeting for our stereo..anyone know how 2 do this?...

No offence to OH, but I've found if you're interested in ricing up your car- check out Asian forums from countries where it's expensive to performance modify (eg. Malaysia/Singapore charge tax based on engine power/CC). There's quite a few "fake"/imitation parts coming out now.

Dealer said he'll call within the month of expected delivery as their database is only updated at the 1st of each month. The dealer would only call you then - hope this helps.

the VTi-L doesn't come with side indicator in the mirror housing...on the Sport does. I'm not sure that you can option them in either unfortunately.

any lawyers or legal experts in here? reason being i need advise on my rights to terminate a sales contract with the dealer. the story is, i put down a deposit for my civic almost 3 months ago. dealer still cant tell me exactly when my car will arrive (for the colour i want). his best estimate is at least another 3-4 weeks. i noticed on the contract that it says the buyer may terminate contract if the car takes more than 3 months to arrive (next week will be exactly 3 months).

i understand that this car has a long waiting list and the stocks are limited, but 4 months is just too long. furthermore i've sold my old car already, and now im stuck without a vehicle. dealer does not give loan vehicles. if possible, i'd prefer to cancel the contract with my deposit refunded, then buy another car with immediate delivery. can i do this without incurring any penalties? :confused:

I have been told I will have to wait till September that nearly 5 months.

Should I terminate and renegotiate a deal later since the delivery of the car is not that too far away from 2007? Then effectively purchasing a 2007 not a late 2006.

I looked at the vtil and didnt see much value for the extra dollars. Considering the 6 dics cd wasnt important to me; the alloys really suck! airbags maybe; audio controlls on steering wheel??? (would they interface with aftermarket deck as I looking to upgrade the sound system)

$28400? Well, my mate got his Civic auto VTi for $25300 driveaway; so that means you paid about $3100 for the Fog lamps, Body Kit + Spoiler, and Genuine Floor Mats. I know the body kit with spoiler is around $2500ish (can't remember exact figure) from when I was ordering, not sure about Fog Lamps, and the floor mats are around $200 from memory? In summing up, I don't think you got any major discounts, so if you feel that you can save money by cancelling and renegotiate go for it- will you have to forfeit any deposits, etc...?

Btw I agree- in hindsight, the benefits of the VTi-L aren't really worth the dollars; especially when if I had gotten VTi, I could've used the change to change the wheels- but then, I really do appreciate having a 6 stack MP3/WMA drive and have no intentions of changing the deck- and I like the steering wheel's audio controls. On a sidenote, I believe there are products out there which will let you use the controls with an aftermarket HU.

If I were you I'd just stick to the deal because the car is still pretty popular- renegotiating may leave you carless unless you have another car in mind?

As for the 2006/2007 model issue; each car has a manufacture date in the left door frame anyway so you could always advertise it as say a July 06 model; but then, noone ever really advertises a car as "Late 20xx"...

Paint and cloth protection is a scam that has bitten me on two previous new cars and I'll never buy that crap again. However, the $600odd for the seat skins is money well spent for me, considering I have a dog and a baby I'm sure the value will be self evident the first time I go to wipe spew/whatever off the covers, they look great too ;)

You're right, you can get a full set of seat covers from super cheap auto for under $100 but in my experience they are generally low quality, itchy and ill fitting.

I bought the "Seat Skins" off the description and picture on the Honda website so I can't comment on how they look/feel but they have a number of things going for them:

1) They're neoprene and therefore should be waterproof and easy to clean (I have a dog and a 9 month old baby) and low alergenic (my wife is mildly asmatic but sensative to dust)
2) They're fitted specifically to the Civic seats
3) I don't like the uncovered seats much (compared to the other two cars I drove, Astra and Mazda3)

Whether this is worth nearly $600 is a matter of debate I suppose but I'll be sure to follow up with a report after delivery in September.

Do tell us how it goes in the real world. Even if they are good quality, unless you have an allergy/reaction to the stock seats, I find it hard to justify such a high price tag (as with most dealer-fit accessories).

i bought mines for 25200 vti auto in silver moss inc tints mats and the chrome exhaust tip..after i signed the contract the sales guy even told me i could hv tried harder as the price could be bought down even a bit more but anyway...i am v satisfied with the price i got...so actually you guys could try to get it lower.... 15 rims rrp is like 900 i think and their cost .....perhaps 400 or sth like that i suppose...so its reasonable deal...just remember not to get the aftermarket crap as they hv a big margin
when i bought my previous honda...a jazz which unfortunately should be in some salvage yard .......i looked through the aftersales lady's folder as she left it lying on her table and it wasnt closed....a tint cost them 200 and they are told to quote you 450 a full car protection (exterior. interior and undercar) cost them 400 but they quote 1600....and thats for a euro accord......
u can go to the one i bought tynan motors but u hv to decide if its worth the drive 45 mins for me coz its in sutherland....but i hv to say excellent service...as i have bought hondas b4 and the service is nth compared to this one

Hmm, I ordered a VTi in Silver Moss and was told late september..I suppose the cars coming in to the country aren't put in a big bucket and drawn from as needed, different dealers have different stock levels and different orders in which may explain it, but it's still annoying that the difference in delivery times for identical cars is a over a month.

My three month contract ended on the 26th July 2006. Told it would be able September (dealer months ago). Colour was silver moss vti auto. When I enquired with HA I was told there was a "hold" on them. Shocked with the term hold I enquired further by was then corrected "I mean a delay" Like to know what the hold is about???

Hello Guys

Just a few thoughts. I origionally had a civic on order but canceled it and got a euro instead. If your delivery date is estimated towards the end of the year 0ct/nov/dec. It might be worth your while cancelling your order if dealer is unable to deliver in three months and has gone over the three month period. You are nearly 2007 with a compliance date of 2006. You have effectively lost a year and car has depriciate before clocking up the kms.

This might give you some further negotiating power with the dealer.:thumbsup:

I did see a civic vti that had some nice looking csa alloys 15" fitted, when I walk past the servicing yard for honda. I wish I had my camera handy.

it depends on preference. i drove a base euro for 3 weeks before picking up my civic sport, and yes it is quieter and better handling, but the interior design is boring and the exterior is boring and it doesn't have leather and it doesn't have a sunroof and it doesn't play mp3s and it doesn't have paddle shift and it doesn't have curtain airbags and it doesn't have fog lights.

but apart from that i agree it's a car you should definitely look at if you're in that price bracket! :)

yeah, the euro sport should be a nice one. the good thing about a euro is that since it isn't a brand spanking new model, you can get pretty hefty discounts on em - something the dealers are still hesitant to do for the new civics.

towards the end of this year there should be discounts coming for the civic to lower the civic sport auto price to i'd say around 33-34k after bargaining - however i've also heard reports that honda will raise the price of the civic anyway =\ which doesn't make sense to me. but oh well!

Just got a call from my dealer about my VTI, they said it will arrival around Oct, but not sure is early, middle or end of that month, but it won't late to Nov for sure. also they answer me for my quote about the side mirror with turned indicator for my VTI, they said it isn't a factory option for VTI, so can not give me a offer for that. and they will contact me next monday about the exact delivery date for my VTI, can't wait ya~

i haven't driven both, but from all the accounts i've read, there is not a big difference no. the main difference is in the torque of the motor, the sport will pull away easier from low revs than the 1.8.

0-100 time for the 1.8 manual = ~9.9sec, roughly same as sport 2.0 auto.

Where are u locate and which dealer u ordered from? if they said so, u should require the car should be make by 2007, not late 2006 one. it relate to the better resell price in market for ur car. how much u pay for it? MT or AT? thx for join our waitting list of new civic.
