Out of the dealers I think Rick Damelian is the best in regards to logos. A few of my friends bought Hondas there and they got no logos on their car except for the license plate holder.

They got the best looking license plate holder too. Its actually a logo, not just block letters saying their name.

now i am normally a patient guy who would defend honda with most issues, but seriously they cant just change what i ordered to suit them and then delay the order time....

my currently dealer is nice one, their sales ask me want do the testdrive b4 nego the price, and after i drove it, i make the deal with them. Good dealer should be like this, not just try to mess u up~

The Mazda 3 was in my top 3 cars when I was looking around (Civic vs Astra vs 3) and I didn't go for the 3 because while it was a decent drive the level sof equipmnent you get in the base model 3 is far inferior to the Civic, you don't even get power windows in a 3!

well, initally before i bought my civic vti, i was looking between corolla, yaris sedan, mazda 3 and nissan pulsar ST-L

then nissan pulsar changed to tilda which i don't like.

corolla then too common, no point getting

yaris is decent for the price, but looks crap too.

that left with mazda3, but things getting funny with it. initally i like 3 a lot, sexy and in fasion, but the more i look at it, the more ugly it gets.

i narrowed my choices down to the 3, the focus and the civic. the focus was first to go on styling and interior quality (cheap). i was looking at base models only (VTi, Neo, CL).

i chose the civic for ABS (should be standard on all cars), power windows, cruise control, mp3 and interior quality. the 3 goes a bit better. styling was about on par. its getting hard to find a bad small car nowadays.

We bought a mazda3 over a civic, only because mazda offered better trade in and my wife likes the look more. Comparing base to base model though, i think civic is a better buy, though it also depends on which dealer is more willing to give discount. The updated 3 now is better value with a few extras.
I think the 3 may have better road holding and a sportier drive, but very nosiy front suspension, the 4 speed auto is not the best, and the fuel consumption could be better for a small car. The Civic on the other hand rides smmothly, has good interior space, good fuel consumption, but too soft/not sporty/youthful as it once was, limited and boring colour choices, and the paint does not have the lustre of others, eg euro. Just what i think.

Have you seen how many Mazda3s are out there lol. No seriously, my mind isn't made up yet but I'm leaning towards the Civic because it's newer, has much better fuel economy, better interior and the 3 did seem a bit noisy and less refined (should be better with the facelift).

But I change my mind every couple of weeks so it doesn't matter. Last month I was set on getting a Mazda6, before that it was a VW Jetta, before that it was an Accord Euro and before that it was a Skyline V35. Now it's the Civic. I don't plan on getting a car till the end of the year at the earliest so my decision will probably change again lol.

I saw a black VTi on the road yesterday, it looks so sweet I considered calling my dealer and seeing if I could switch colours (from silver moss) but then common sense kicked in and I remember how much I hate washing and polishing every week.

All they told me was that the car would be at their dealership on the 18th and that it will take them about a week to fit the accessories (tinting, sound deadening, alloys, bass works are pretty labour intensive I suppose).

i used to do that:
-microfibre cloth
-gold class wash
-quick detailer
-paint cleaner
-wax
-polish

and that kept my car clean and when i did get water marks/dust all you need you really do is just wash it down and give it a light clean to make it shiny again :D

dude, you need to know how to deal with these sales people, in general all they really are after is your money and their commission. It is hard to tell which salesmen are honest, but then again, there is no such thing as an 'honest' salesmen, so you just need to bargain and throw things in for a good price, sounds hard but actually is easy. Most I find are friggen bullsh*t artists so to get something you want, you need to know how to negotiate with them, ask them many questions to see if they know their cars otherwise speak to another saleman or go to another dealership.
Don't fall for their crap and bargain with them the best you can...

Lancers are great value. 2.4L 115kw MIVEC engine for $19,990? Thats like Korean pricing, except with Japanese quality. Add to that, 5 years warranty, 5 years roadside assist and 5 years free scheduled servicing and you have a great deal. If not for the crappy interior then I'd definitely consider getting one. And when you consider that the base Lancer ES is also faster than the Civic Sport, damn.

I won't compare it to the Civic because the one I tested had some problems when closing the door. But I can say for a certainty that the doors were much better than a Mazda 3. The Lancer has a solid thud whereas the Mazda had more of a sharp clunk. And to be honest, maybe even better than the Mazda 6. Crappy interior designs aside, the Lancer is a very well built car and very quiet. More quieter than a Lexus IS250 infact.

No disrespect to the lancer..its great value car, evo interior.But...the technology that Honda has put into the new r18 engines..could make your eyes teary.The 1.8 can actually produce 103kW...which is like a 2.0 litre engine other car makers produces...yet efficent as a 1.5 litre.The civic pricing is fairly decent and not to forget,,the great handsome looks.Technooly and Class..

both the lancer and the civic are nice, but i picked the civic over the lancer IMO the civic has a more futuristic design and the techonology onboard is incredible.

the civic is also safer in its class. it got car of the year in japan 2006 and a 6 star crash rating (which is eqivilant to 5 stars here).

but more importantly the new civic gives the car and the driver a much more sense of security. the civic is solid, the lancer well.... i guess just like any typical jap car in its price range (no offense to the lancer drivers :p )

Lancer? A stupid car. I guess the price is ok, but the design is about what 7-8 years old and its also a Mitsubishi. That says it all really.The Evolution is great but the rest of the Mitsubishi range? :thumbdwn:

The Lancer is actually lighter than the Civic. The old 2.0L 92kw model managed a time of 9.7s for the 0-100km/h, which is around the same as the Civic VTi.

I doubt the Civic is the safest in it's class. Maybe there's a case for the Sport and Hybrid but not the VTi anyway. It might have a stronger structure but both the Lancer and the Mazda 3 comes with optional side and curtain airbags while the Mazda3 also has DSC.

Don't know about the Lancer but the Mazda3 has a 'Triple H' design designed to help against side and offset impacts and some other design that's supposed to keep the cabin relatively intact.

I use Autoglym car window cleaner. A cheaper alternative is Meguiar's Window cleaner. Spray it on a soft cotton cloth and then wipe the residue off.

I just got a 2006 civic Vti and paid $23,900 on the road (manual). but i got extras such as floor mats, accent lighting, head light covers and side step garnish. that was pretty much the best price they could give me.
