yes, there is a lag as it is drive-by-wire, maybe the computer does not react fast enough?

Yup, the electronic throttle's a little laggy. There's a 0.5s lag between you press the throttle and when it goes.

read on the 8th civic US forum, that this lag problem ia quite apparent now.Its some dws or sort is creating this accelaration lag.Apparently they want to have a petition so that they can email to Honda America to highlight this issue.Im not aware of how serious this problem since i received my car yet.but thinking abt it, i might i have experienced the lag during test drive.

Maybe we ought to create a new thread.Wonder if any other civic owners felt this lag? does it happen in both the R18 and k20a sports model??

There is a lag, but it seems to be common on drive by wire cars.... grrr.. our euro does it as well as our Mk 5 GTI (although not as much). Unfortunately thats what happens when a computer needs to respond to what you're doing. Thats why I loved the monaro, classic throttle cable yo!

The software running on the computer may need some adjusting but there's just no way that the microchip could be causing lag between foot and engine, it would be software causing this problem and should be easily fixed.

I am ordered my car at 19/7 this yr, so it took around 3 mths to get the car(hopefully, not get the car yet:p ) and I paid $23250 with free floor mat, and added paint protection and window tinting package at $695 just now, also plan to paid $500 for extra foglight, but wait for the reply

Is this how much you got it for? I've been quoted 26500 for vti auto, and 26000 from another for vti auto. My dad is getting the sports manual, hes been quoted 36k, but apparently he's gonna trade in his old 97 commodore and they can get it under 30k for the sports.

I got my 2006 vti auto for $26150 drive away, including rear spoiler, 15" alloys and the car matts (which they throw in anyway to make you feel like you are ripping them off!!!)

All in all, RRP drive away was a fraction over $26000 without the extra's normally. the spoiler is about $700-750 and the wheels were $1300 if you pay full price.

You can always complain to the sales manager at the Honda Dealer you have bought from. The sales managers tend to be quite interested in how their underlings are doing and may take action if you mention how rude your dealer has been. Unfortunately, that's not uncommon for salesman to keep to their stereotypical reputation.

You can cancel your contract 3 months after you sign it if delivery has not occurred. I suggest you do it if you're unhappy and don't like the civic 'that' much. Your salesman also loses out on his bonus :P

ya, in this stage I am just mod the looking than performance part, due to not much choice for performance so far. I am just ordered Mugen kit from JDM concept, and got mugen visor from them, and I will get 17 inch rim next week and fit the HID as well later, then upgrade the audio part as well, after all of them done, i think my ride just enough sweet to myself~ did u order ur ride yet? hope u get car soon~

hard to tell u which company made it, I think just some unknown chinese company make them. I found it from some chinese auto produce website,and brought by my father since he came here from china last mtn. and he told me also got some side step fit for new civic with LED light display which just around $40aud there. If u want to order, may need help from some frd in china, they can find them much easier than here

The price didn't go up. The price on the site is RRP. Driveaway price has 2-3k extra to cover registration and delivery stuff. I always try to negotiate for RRP though.

basically, you can get misty violet with the '07 civic. Apparently everything else is the same (engine, interior, exterior). I could've got the 06 Civic in December, or wait for the 07 Civic in January. For resale purposes, i'd rather wait an extra month, so that i can say i got an 07 model !!!!

VTi-L features aren't really that great unless you really want the climate control and cd stacker. It works against you because if you wanted to change rims, it becomes a harder argument of "do i change my honda alloys?"..

... and then comes the regret later on of "shit i should've spent $5k more to get the better engine, leather, sunroof, etc.. which has far better resale value."

The price didn't go up. The price on the site is RRP. Driveaway price has 2-3k extra to cover registration and delivery stuff. I always try to negotiate for RRP though.

Civic prices are up $500 across the entire range. They might not be updated on the site yet but when I got the mail out the prices were higher.

Mmm well my original quote was a mistake, apparently it was $26500 with no accesories. Just the VTi auto as standard. Trade in would be a 2003 Jazz VTi. Problem with private selling is getting a buyer, and if you sell it before you get the new car you have no car for a while.

get honda touch up paint from the dealer. if its not too bad tht should fix it. i had the same problem with my 05 at garden city and luckily it was under the front bumper and hard to tell unless you were looking at it from underneath. i used touch up paint and it worked fine.

Hey dyljoy, nice to almost be a new civic owner :P I havn't seen VERY many civics on the road yet, which is cool.. will still have a fairly unique car hehe. I ordered the Taffeta White because I think it looks pretty nice, and I have friends with black and silver civics (which were the other two available colours). I ordered the manual, have had auto's since I got my licence and am sick of them haha.

The price was basically the RRP. I visited a few and none of them were willing to negotiate because they basically had the upper hand since they are selling, or putting on order, more civics than what they bring into the country :\.

So, being new to the civic, are there many 2006's getting around brisbane on these forums?

Man, you get your civic real fast. I signed the contract on 2/sept and I am still waiting. Was told that it will be early Dec. The wait was especially unbearable. Mine's a vti auto in silver. Tried to change my color to sparkle grey or misty violet, but that would drag the delivery into next year. Dont' really think I want to wait that long. I got mine for 26305 with free 15' alloys and mudflaps. Located in Brisbane too.

i was talking to a mechanic friend who works at audi and he has said 2 days max but honda is telling me i will get mine in 10 working days... wtf is honda being lazy? thinking about it though i cant see what would take so long. there is no compliancing involved, i dont think honda would have a problem with customs hold ups as they bring in ships of new cars regularly, washing sea salt off a car will take 1 hour , removing wheel chux/taking off foam and plastic bits etc about 1 hour, interior clean an hour.... maybe its just me, but this dealership (prestige honda perth) is starting to really aggrivate me in terms of customer service. if there is anyone from here that works at prestige, your manager is a bastard... *end rant*

RHK....Burswood Honda is NO GREAT either...

I was told my car would have been here by 2nd November(Thursday) and be delivered by next Tuesday or Wednesday. ..So i sold my current car on Monday thinking that the car will probably come in the next couple of days.I called on tuesday just to double check if my car is ready but only to get a rude shock that the car will only be in Perth on the 17th November..and it takes 6-7 days after that to be ready for collection!!.


Cooly, the dealer told me he saw the wrong list and got mixed up with somebody else..i was like WTF!!!...I tried explaining to him that i hv already sold my car..and i needed transport to get to uni.The dealer was reluctant to offer any single help..dun even clearly remember him saying sorry on the phone too.

Being annoyed and frustrated..the only way is to make my presence felt..i had someone to drop me off in Honda on Tuesday ,10th..I confronted him...firm but polite(Everyone makes mistake,,who doesnt) i explained my situation.The dealer tried defending himself abit( he apologised btw during defending himself)..but knowing his on the losing side..he gv up after a while.After 10mins , he decided that he wil call me wednesday to loan me car.

Wednesday comes...at 5pm no one calls me,I then called up the dealer to find out wats happening.Again... and i was told to call back in 10mins...which i did but only to told to call back in another 5 mins because hes with another customer.I called himm 5 mins later and he told hes still looking into it.

This really put me off...i had to go to Honda again.This time i happen to bump into the manager..and i told him the whole story.He was suprised that he didnt know anything abt it.A cover up by the dealer himseld??? possible!

within 5 mins, the manager arranged a car for me to use till my new car arrives.And my dealer comes later comes to meet me saying.."OHH now u finally got the car..DRIVE SAFELY"...what the hell man..

who did you have at burswood look after you? my gf bought her jazz there and got it in under a week and the guy who looked after us was very good and cut off 1.5k and threw in a few extras. (we had the BFRG - big friendly redheaded giant lols... cant remember his name but he was irish/read headed)

I just share my waiting story, I got a sms from my dealer about my car just in the port at 4th, OCT, and expecting get it in 3 or 4 days. so i just wait. then 4 days later, i have to called them back to ask the exactly date i can get the car. and my dealer just said car still in port and got some problem about custom, may come other week. by then, i am start to feel the dealer's lie began, so during coming week, i kept call my dealer to get the car arrivel date, untill 13th Oct, dealer said my car will come to shop on coming Mon. I felt happy atm. but when i called him bakc on Mon, he just piss off and said car just arrivel around afternoon and too many car have to deal with sth like tinting and so on, so my car can't not be given on time, I am start to complain why always they have excuse for their mistakes, he just keep said sorry and nth else. on 17th Oct's afternoon, finally i got my blk vti, but they still got sth can make ppl complain, the dealer didn't register my personal number on my car, and i have to deal with it on next day. For above of happening, I am upset for the dealer's did, and won't intro other frd to deal with them, damn~

They would always keep in contact and ask for feedback after every servicing. Think they are more long sighted than Honda as they would want you to come back to do servicing with them as well and not end with the sale.

Frankly, I get less of customer satisfaction with Honda than with Mazda. I wish Honda would be reading our posts and get their act together.

Went there to confirm the delivery date with the sales rep today. Was told it would be around the 18th dec. Somehow, I got this feeling I wont be seeing it until Jan 07. I ordered on the beginining of Sept and that would mean slightly more than 3mth's wait.

Hornsby Honda is so far the best serviced auto dealer.

I order my new civic on the 2nd last week of September and got it in a little over 2 weeks just like I was promised.. Maybe it was just good timing I guess.

The dealer called up when he was informed the car had reached the port and I would be able to pick up the car in 2 days.. I was impressed..



Lol my car has 10kms, reasonable amount for testing.

looking forward to the drivers window issue and running it in all over again : ).

Hi everyone, new to this forum. Crappy thing is that i found out about this forum AFTER i bought my civic, so i think ive missed out on alotta of background knowledge bout prices, extras etc etc.

Put a deposit down couple of days ago for a black '07 vti auto, 26300 with floor mats, tint, 1st n 2nd service free. Comparing to some of the other deals ive read here... i think i've been ripped a little bit. Dealer said it should be coming in early Jan but from the sounds of things here in this forum i shouldn't expect it to arrive on time?

Got my tint done last week (was a nice b'day present!!) from Tint-a-Car for $250. (actual price is $395 from memory but we've done a few other things there and got a discount) It's called Midnight Express which is also the darkest legal tint... looks mad with misty violet.

bit hard to get used to driving it tho. its got a crazy light clutch and accel. i thought my car was broken but it was just me too eager on the throttle going into second and bogging it haha but now im getting used to drivng it

also the crazy whiny belt noise is :thumbsup:

make sure you ask that "if" you do sell your car, whether you would sell it as an 06 or an 07 model. That way, you sort of know what you're really getting.
