Hey Brett,
Does it slide to the left? Or does the rear slide out?
If it slides to the left, depending on how wide your wheels are already, I would think that getting wider wheels would help with this issue.
*sniff* You are likening me to bags of cement? *sniff*
newpaddy3
15-12-2010, 09:41 PM
Troy, I love cement. Cement it like the best building product ever, I want a house made from it!
Don't need tile or a wooden floor, just get some polished cement and you're done!
It's pretty cheap too. Cement is awesome.
Did I mention that I really love cement?
I know. I can never be as good. *sigh*

Yeah but if you build me a house made from cement that makes cement your bitch.

My last day of work for the year was today. After work I took the Civic to the track and wound it out to 8400 several times. Love the B16a!
Troy, ur earlier post is still in my head. ATM I'm considering springs/dampers vs full exhaust. In any case I am compelled to mod my car. I've been watching too much Best Motoring on the 'tube. Check out EK9 @ 05:55 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rYjiBQ9pp4B16B FTW!

That's mad Mike! I bet that was tons of fun!! How did you go? Did you feel like you could push the car to its limits?
Also, kind of a side note, but with your Injen cai, did you notice any loss down low?
Mikecivic78
18-12-2010, 02:27 AM
Maybe a little lost below 2000 revs, but a noticeble improvement in mid-range power. Once you get I/H/E (or internals, if thats what ur gonna do) get a Hondata( or equivalent) and tune. It'll help power in all of the rev range.

Hey Brett,
Does it slide to the left? Or does the rear slide out?
If it slides to the left, depending on how wide your wheels are already, I would think that getting wider wheels would help with this issue.
If I'm turning left it slides outwards..I've got 215's but they are low as on tread but stil on rights it dosent slide out.

Nice photos Brett, we had a great time, gotta do it again!
I'll put up my photos as soon as I can.
On the way back to Brisbane my driver's side power window stuffed up, it's off the channel. A bit of tint is scraped off the window, sucks. I'm looking into DIY fix. Hopefully I can fix it in daylight tomorrow. Anyway, that's my main focus atm.
However, I am stoked by the EM1's handling with the ek9 swaybar, I can really throw it into the corners ;)
Mikecivic78

Ok, I think I've sussed out how to fix the window. I'll take some photos, maybe do a DIY thread later.

Merry Xmas Beeza!
I fixed my window today, goes up and down better than eva. I took a few photos, so I hope I can prepare a DIY. All Civic coupes have this problem at some stage, so it would help some people out.
Rear sway bar is still shifting around. I cannot explain it- when it shifts back to even, I'll re-torque the bolts. But man, it corners so well! I've been taking corners hard today in the wet (no-one on the roads on Xmas day) and the rear never slips out. Like you said the other day, it is fun to drive. No under or oversteer, just point and shoot.
Just gotta get some better brake pads and I'm ready for Lakeside or QLD Raceway. Stoked!
Life is all about enjoying the corners! :D
Hope you guys all had a Merry Christmas! Cheers.

Yeah EPIC alright! You guys should check it out sometime.
And if you happen to be rich (which I am not) I think he is selling for about $150,000 or so. He spent 2 months in America zig-zagging across the country side before he finally decided on purchasing this one. Imported it to Australia. Converted to RHD himself. Rebuilt the V8. Took 2.5 years to go around Australia with mum on a working holiday. And he says there is so much more of Australia that he wanted to check out, he could easily spend another 2.5 years on the road again. Way to go I reckon.

The EG sedan is one of the best sedan shapes ever. Lol. Lexus copied it with their is300.
Yes I'm a tad biased, but then again I owned one for 2 1/2 years, and it was SOO roomy inside. Plus, I've heard the sedan is only ~30kg heavier than the hatch.
Combined with a B18c and some good suspension it wouXld be an absolutely wicked car to drive! Plus, you'd still have tonnes of room in the back for the booster seats ;)

I wouldn't suggest either IMO.
is200 is notoriously under-powered and 300 only came out in auto.
Can't compare to 3-series. 325i+ are all better value for $$$ and are much better overall. Das Gut.
IS200 is definitely lacking in power. My mum used to have one (it was also auto). But as a car for cruising I thought it was great, handled quite well also.
So what would you suggest Mike? EM1? :D
Mikecivic78
23-03-2011, 10:29 AM
So what would you suggest Mike?
Like I said before, BMW 3 series (E46).
323i/325i/330i all good. Can be had for the same price as the Lexus.
The is200 is a great handler, like u said. I hate the instrument cluster though, too busy and hard to read. Crap hard interior plastics I thought too. Why buy a Lexus when you can have a bimmer?

I don't mind the 1 series. Many Bimmer purists hate them. Personally I like the e46 coupe, like the one in the pic. Silver is also my fave colour.
However my mates dad (a BMW purist) told me about my EM1 that "silver is the colour that you get when you can't choose a colour". I guess for Bimmers it is the default colour though, and he's a bit of a tosser anyways.

Actually I tell a lie. I do like BMW, but only one shape. The 130i seems to have such a tough stance for a small 4-door hatch. RWD too.

Just gotta get some spring compressors and put 'em in.
Props to Troy for convincing me to finish my sussy before any further engine mods.

Yummy!
I've never done it before, so bring some backup dinner just in case LOL
Lol bring the honey sandwiches.
Damper + cream + jam = The best.
Not hard to make Troy so don't f*ck it up hahaha, just bring a recipe. I think its flour salt water...
Lets do it beez, need some relaxing bro time out in the mountains.
Honey sandwiches come if the boys come. In fact that's not a bad idea... well maybe in another year or two for sure!
Like this? http://bruggietales.blogspot.com/2006/04/bonfire-damper.html
What do you mean blocked?
I'm at work. That site is blocked.
Damper
* 2 cups self-raising flour
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 2 teaspoons sugar
* 3 tablespoons butter
* 3/4 cup milk
Mix the flour, salt and sugar together in a bowl. Cut the butter into the dry mixture. Add milk to make a soft dough. Knead lightly on floured board until smooth. Shape into round loaf. If using for bonfire damper, cut into smaller bitys which would wrap nicely on a stick.
If you want to make a loaf, brush with milk, and bake at 375 F/190C for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the loaf makes a hollow sound when tapped.
Copy/pasta just for you Mr Chris. Can you feel the love?
I do!! Excellent. CAAAN YOU DIG IT?

But I have been thinking about the fail cruise to the pie shop, there's a NSW thread in upcoming events. I think we could show them how it's really done! Start near my place, up and over Tamborine (the way down behind is a sweet drive). Then it's not much more to Yatala Pies! Anybody interested in that sometime?

newpaddy3
11-04-2011, 06:34 PM
Neoplasm.
mikey72
11-04-2011, 07:04 PM
Neoplasm is an abnormal mass of tissue as a result of neoplasia. Neoplasia ("new growth" in Greek) is the abnormal proliferation of cells. The growth of neoplastic cells exceeds and is not coordinated with that of the normal tissues around it. The growth persists in the same excessive manner even after cessation of the stimuli. It usually causes a lump or tumor. Neoplasms may be benign, pre-malignant (carcinoma in situ) or malignant (cancer).
In modern medicine, the term tumor means a neoplasm that has formed a lump. In the past, the term tumor was used differently. Some neoplasms do not cause a lump.

Peanut butter bottle? WTF...
beeza
14-04-2011, 12:42 PM
Hey Brett can you explain the point of the peanut butter bottle to me?
That breather valve on the valve cover is a 2 way system - air goes in at low rpm's to cool the valvetrain and pushes air out under pressure.
Normally the blow back goes back into the intake arm,it is done this way for emissions.
There is no need for it to do that and I believe it's extra 'energy' that is not needed.
By running the hose into a vented catchcan,the air can go in and can vent out under pressure no worries.
My only concern was air will not be easily going in to cool the valvetrain at low rpm without that pressure behind it BUT it is not a problem,my engine does not heat up,the set up works fine.
