Nope, I have tried. I have a set of DC5 brakes although haven't got around to fitting. the red brembos would look great under our white rims.

Don't like the look of the brakes on ebay, sorry

the interior is big enough for 2 adults + 2 kids.

we have another 5 door hatch tho....

interior space is exactly the same as the 5 door hatch?
have used a baby seat in the EP3R?

Wow, you have some bargaining skills if you pull off that price, surely you won't get it. It would be hard to import at the moment for that price wouldn't it. The prices of our cars should be going up due to the dollar as shown through prices of parts.

... i would imagine they would have payed for it b4 the dollar had gone up.. its a fairly low price to start off with so theres no harm in trying the bargin. if its not this one it will be another one, im not in a rush, things are going to keep going down cause no one is buying nething cause there scared of there jobs etc etc plus its not advertised nemore for some odd reason so i wont have any competition

not really as price in Japan has dropped.

well yes there is less demand but also less supply as hardly anyone is importing atm.

but unless the dealer is desperate for cash, i agree that it won't be easy to pull such a deal.

I had this problem b4. Turned out to b when the window was on its way up it was rubbing against the rubber inside the window guides which was enough to make it stop and go back down (Must b a safety thing just incase someone hand gets caught the window would stop and go back down mayb ??). My mechanic found it and sprayed something from a can i cant remember sorry.

REAR PARKERS ANYONE?? ahahaha

nps bud. As for the rear parkers. They are designed so that u can click them to 1 side and they should come off and u can replace the globe but beause its plastic the clip i think gets stuck and if u try to push it to the side u might crack it. My mechanic replaced it by taking the plastic cover off the hatch door and going in from behind. Or do what i did for ages, at night time b4 u take off, turn ur head lights on, walk to the back of ur car and tap the parkers till the filaments touch and turn on hahaha

hi Perry, thanks for your reply. it's ok, just a discussion so nothing urgent.

Kaz (steven), in order to change the rear parker lights, yes you need to remove all the internal plastic covers (on the inside of the hatch door). Starting from the top of the rear window, by yanking that out before removing the side plastic covers off. Then, finally you need to unscrew/remove the two plastic clips on the bottom of the hatch (you will see them as you lift the hatch door up) and then yank that plastic cover off.

Once that is all done, you can see the two parker light leads and it just takes a matter of patience and time to reach in and twist the rear parker housing out to change the parker lights. :)

Does that make sense?..hehe...otherwise PM me for further details.

Neither will feel soft, even if you get the 60A. Unfortunately you'll get a decent upgrade in vibration through the car :(

Steel or billet no difference in performance, just looks and material.

Hey mate,

i just done my yesterday took me about 40 mins i was fully lost ive been asking about it for a while but yeah you need to...

-take off the top plastic part from the top rear brake light x 4 white tabs

-then the left one x 2 or 3 tabs

-then the right one x 2 or 3 tabs

-unscrew the screw in the inside handle to pull down the boot

-unplug the 2 tabs from the bottom of the boot then rip off the whole thing x 6 or 8 tabs

it will be very hard to rip off the plastic parts dont be scared just rip them off i did break about 4 or 5 tabs i think lol but yeah and also some other clips but had to be done i think lol

and that should be it un twist it and bam

hope that helps

Hey all, I was saying i was going to try and get the Ep3 for around 20-22, looking at the condition of it i now realise 24 is around the offers he is taking so ill c how i go, it was a grade 4b import and is immaculate, even comes with the red floor mats sl quite pleased with the car, only waiting on the reply on my offer and see how we go from there. Gavin the dealer was a real nice guy and plesant to deal with, although seeing the 5 r35 gtr's there did sway me from the ep3 :p

8" with +44 probably won't fit (hit the sussy) at the front or very close. my 7.5 +48 is very very close.

+32 might be too far out at the front, so probably +38 would be the best.

i guess do a test fit to be safe.

Had both gruppem and cai. Not as much difference as you think!

Theres about 2 or so kw mid range less with cai but theres about 2kw above 8K so realistically, CAI is good for top end power without losing much in the mid area.

And yes, thats on the dyno!

Yeah, I can't understand paying that much money for an intake and you also have to slice up your car which you can't put back to standard

Philip Lee
31-03-2009, 05:04 PM
you buy performance cars and fuel economy is a major concern???

re mods, spend around $1k for a ECU reflash and you get 40ps & 50nm (at fly). $1k can't even get you a Gruppe M CAI for EP3 at the current exchange rate....

service cost might be more expensive but interval is longer (15000 km vs 10000km).

anyway the mk5 GTI might be over your budget by around $5k but it's a great car. not saying EP3 isn't great. as i said i love both for different reasons.

you buy performance cars and fuel economy is a major concern???

anyway the mk5 GTI might be over your budget by around $5k but it's a great car. not saying EP3 isn't great. as i said i love both for different reasons.
Define performance car ! :p i understand what your saying, but compare an EP3 to a ferrari or r35 GTR and its a shopping car :) but im getting 13-15 litres per hundred (boost, what do u expect) so fuel is a major consideration in the buying process and unless your doing "spirited driving" above 5500rpm the fuel consumption is good :) but i guess you could call it a sliding scale more performance more fuel etc on which the EP3 is in the good side of the scale

As for the Golf, most of my past time is working on cars (i grew up in a servo, and past experiences have detered me from the Vw's BMW's and Audi's of the world which is comming from a servicing/fixing part of view cause they go like a bat hot of hell, its just little things that i think about that turn me off that other people dont really think about. That and i will never buy a turbo again....too many things that can go wrong

yep, and im 23 aswell
OOOOO i like that, thanks for the reply, there quote system is down atm so ill ring them up and c what they give me :)

i'd think EP3 and GTI are in the same market. similar size, hatchback, around 40k (3dr) etc etc. so we're comparing apple with apple here.

13-15L/100km?? that's higher than what i get from the GTI (average 11L/100km). but i'm on about 9-10L/100km on the EP3 so i guess you have more fun than me :p

Yep fuel economy sux... boost comes on low and strong so fuel is there to back it up = crap fuel consumption

Yeah i like the look of the golf but the turbo is what wrecked it... Would deffinately buy an R32 golf if it were in the price range :p

UKDM is cheaper cos it doesn't come with recaros, momos, and different engine tuning and I believe different ECU tuning as well. (JDM is quicker at top end and higher revving, while UKDM is good on low end power)

JDM EP3 Championship White wins. (in my opinion)

No matter how few silver etc there are in the country, Championship White is the colour Type-R's are renowned for and will be worth more than the other colours.

Red Line is too expensive for daily use though, just use FEO and change it often.
