Hey guys just installed Injen CAI, and the sensor grommet they gave seems to be too small (and doesnt match the instruction diagram).. so when the sensor is in, the sensor sits loose. Is that normal for you guys? Also, where did you guys mount the ground wires, there seems to be nowhere to put them.. so I just left it in the stock position and put the vibra-mount and bracket over it..
yeh the gromit is shit but still works fine cause when there is suction it pulls the sensor in but no air is being pull from the the gromit and the reearthing just follow the instructions, unless u got very hard to see pics on ur instructions like i got lol

no difference US made or AU made, all do the same shit so just get some endless or green stuff locally, im assuming your thinking because its made in the US it must be better?

Not that I think US made is better, just that I have only used two brands of brake pads, Brembo and Hawk. And I really like the Hawk pads, that's why. Thanks for clarifying!

hi guys,

any idea how to take apart the back plastic bits around the trunk so I can adjust my coils T_T

lol

All u need to do is to take the small plastic trim that cover the coil. Hard to explain
1. first put the 2 back seats down
2. You should be able to see the middle trim when the seats are down the covers it right next the middle trim just give it a small pull it should come off.

there are 2 small round plugs (1 each side) u need to pull out b4 u pull the trim off.

to do that, use something to push the inside circle in and it should be free to pull the plugs off.

i'm on SS but i'm not too low. my car measures around 64cm from top of guard to ground.

doesn't scrap anything but i have 18" wheels with 225/40/18 so the car is raised slightly.

c01567

tein springs are around 1.5" lower... its mainly cos of the after market exhaust i think that it sits pretty low
clearance looks like 10cm

I pretty sure mine 1.5" lower (20mm) n the exhaust does scrub a bit. Just gotta be careful over speed humps.

Im not sure how low mine is but if your measure from the outer tyre to the guard front is 1 finger space gap and rear is 1/2 finger space for a me its a good clearance since my car was dump on its asss before.

anyone here knows how to pull the door trims off? need to adjust my window glass on the reg, they r a bit loose atm.

thx guys

Push the silver trim off from the door handles, there is a small hole at the base where u can use a hex key to push the silver trim out. Which then exposed some screws. U need to undo those screws, then pull off the black trim near the mirrors. Do that very carefully as the clips snap very easily. Then check if there is screw near the silver door catch thing, undo them if there are some and I should be able to pull the door trim off.

Pull from the bottom and side, there should be a few clips around and make sure u don't damage them. Then u should be able to lift the trim off the top. Also make sure the door catch is clear. U will then need to unplug the power window plug and the trim should now be free.

If your after 2nd parts u have to travel out of MK now unfortunetly or grab a mag from the magazine stand option mag or something like that they usually list the parts there.
If your after new parts some shops in MK might sell them.

i dun have hasport but i have engine mount inserts (which is less hardcore) and u only really notice the vibration when u stop, however u'll hear a lot more rattles and they tend to come and go depends on the rpm.

places in MK are just normal prices.....dun the exchange rate between Jap Yen and HKD.......plus you need to know them to get some good price....

If you travel to YL you really need to know where to go...there are million of places have 2nd hand parts but not everyone have parts for EP3.......and if you are just some random ppl walk in believe me their price ain't cheap too.....unless you know them......

im pretty sure they dont get any softer, ive had mine for awhile and still the same, if they were to get softer then wats the point in hasport innovative etc making stronger engine mounts if there gonna get soft again? prob best go with poly inserts like phillip

if u want the softest ones id be looking at 60A, 70 + will kill u unless u wanna track. if i were u go for the 60A, hasport only make 62A so id be a tiny bit more stiff but i doubt id be that noticable

i was more asking about using wider tyres on one axle than the other

no i dont see any problem. If you choose to put thicker at the front for that bit of extra grip by all means go for it. Howeva when i was looking up tyre sizes when i was shopping for some rubber i found out that the 205/45/17 was more expensive then the 215/45/17 nfi why. Weird

Hi guys I recently got buddyclub racing spec coil overs installed in my car and there is a clunking sound whenever I come 2 a complete stop or excellerate hard. I've checked over all the bolts and they seem tight. I think it mainly the fronts that do this. Is it normal? Or is it the camber tops making the noise? Thanks

i use to have noises with my RSD's after driving for awhile, they just kept loosening up a lil and just needed abit of tightening. Just take it back to where u got them installed and show them the noise. They problem didnt tighten something up enough. Also check that ur spring doesnt freely spin. It should sit pretty firm in the coilover because if its not and when u turn the spring turns and move hence creating a annoying noise :S BUT i could b wrong ! lol Best get it checked out by the people that installed them

what headers do u have?

Tri y 4-2-2 headers with skunk2 exhaust

just get a high flow cat on stock exhaust with ur headers, should be fine until u can get enough for rmo1a, maybe u should try the new range from j's racing?

How much are rm01's going for these days?

Or alternatively, anyone want to swap my skunk2 with something more quieter?

I love the sound, but as an everyday car waking up the entire unit complex every morning is no longer sustainable.

hey guys finally looking into getting a ep3! :D waiting for the next one to come in at img next week or the one after for a test drive and hopefully get it. opted for a s2k/dc5r to avoiding another lux car but nah i started with a civic gonna drive another civic ahahas. both those cars were appealing but after looking at ep3s around sydney, the body grew on me. rarity or so is what i think is good about it not many around unlike dc5's for the same price.

anything i should be looking out for ? i mainly know of the package c and probably need to buy new mounts is that right?

for ppl who run inverted tie rod end, do you have play on the steering wheel after a while?? (read that on clubRSX forum), has it been reliable? does it need regular maintenance? do they really improve handling?

i am running Tein SS and lowered by 2cm (running 225/40/18 so only 1 finger gap between guard). the car starts to develop slight clicking noise when i turn the steering wheel at low speed. before the SS, the clicking noise barely happened. i think my steering rack need some lube but i wonder if i should also get some tie rod ends to reduce the steering arm angle to reduce stressing the steering rack. however after doing some research, it seems the rod ends will wear and develop play in the steering.

i think my car doesn't have bad bump steer but it definitely tramlines a bit. will get wheel alignment sorted once the springs have settled and if i should get tie rod ends, i'd rather get it done b4 alignment to save $$.

also anyone installed steering arm bracket?? do we need to replace the washers and rings? can we buy them locally?

thanks

Hey philz,

Like i was talking to you b4 when u were down in sydney im also after the brackets and all i can find on the net is the one for the rsx. I read alot about the inverted and even though it seems no one in australia has had any problems im still paranoid about putting my set on. Ahhhh, everytime i look at the angles of my tie rods it makes me scared, i gotta do something >_< i did read about people putting mods on their inverted tie rod ends to stop dust and dirt getting into the ball joint. That might help abit

I got the bracket delivered just yesterday so when I find time to put it in, I'll let you guys know how it is. its not exactly cheap and installation may not be exactly easy, either. I'm going to be ordering new washers and o-rings for it too, possibly new OEM tie rod ends too.

BTW, bump steer is not when the steering wheel moves as a result of hitting bumps on the road. Bump steer is when the suspension compresses/rebounds and any change in toe that occurs as a result, so much so that the cars trajectory is altered. (Thats the gist of it, from what I gathered)

Hope that helps!

no silencer for skunk2??

Rm01s around $1200 from traders.

It does have a silencer, at idle its pretty quiet as I can sneak home late at night without waking the neighbours, but from a cold start, the first few mins as the engine is warming up is too loud for the mornings.

Will I most likely experience the same problem from a Fujitsubo, I've never heard it from a cold start before?

if u don't mind, how much did the bracket cost shipped? did u buy from 0857 off clubRSX? also please let us know what washers and o-rings u got. very much appreciated.

yeah i'm aware what constitute bump steer. at the moment, the handling seems predictable so i'm not too concern but i know my alignment isn't ideal as i did a temp one after installing coilovers and waiting for the springs to settle.

GO OR NO GO?

The Aragosta company was founded thirty years ago in the Netherlands. Following a series of setbacks, it was taken over by the Belgian company Suspension Technics which continues to produce shock absorbers today.

Originally, most of the production was for motocross and GP racing bikes, two disciplines in which we became world leader.

Building upon this success, we subsequently expanded our product range. Today, all types of vehicle can be fitted with our shock absorbers. We are present at National and Worlds Rally championships, in Autocross, Kartcross and Touring car events. We even set records in the Paris-Dakar Rally, in both the T1 and T2 categories.

Hey guys,
another Coffee Meet to be up soon for this Sunday 24th January.

But thought I'd throw the option of another potential place to consider for coffee. That is, Parramatta Park?
Reason: Seeing some of the other EP3 owners are out west, thought this idea of another venue might also suit as it may be closer.

I personally am happy either way. :)

Anyway, majority will rule, so please indicate which you guys prefer.

1. Homebush

OR

2. Parramatta Park

i drove alone last time and did 4 stops in total (1 x lunch, 1 x refuel, 2 x toilet break/rest). i left from Bondi at around 7:30am and arrived home (Brisbane southside) around 6pm. i reckon 11.5 hours (factor in day light saving time).

Well when i bought my ep3 it came with this piece of shite pioneer gps/dvd and junk player, doesnt work as its in japanese and the previous owner lost the remote, lol. id take it out but its wired through the car and everything and im a massive noobcake when it comes to technical stuff... massive ball breaking machine.

welcome, nice to have another EP3 owner on board. :)

The wiring should not be too hard to 'unwire'. Most of the wiring is situated close to the HU, so it's just a matter of following each wire to see where it leads and simply cut off/unclip the wires where unnessesary (<--did I spell that right?).
Very easy to DIY, but if you are not sure then just get a pro to do it for you. :D

Yes, stock is 205/45/17.

No one had any good 205/45/17's tyres in stock for a reasonable price, so I opted to get the more popular 215/45/17's Goodyear Eagle F1's DS-G3 at St George Tyres. Got em for $180 per tyre, balanced and fitted. It's made in Thailand though, which is a big difference to the one's made in Germany.

Coming from 205/45/17 (RE-01R's) to 215/45/17, the ride comfort is a lot better, but I do feel a lot more flex in the sidewalls of the tyre, especially when going around corners with a fair amount of speed.

there are really only power, illum, ground, ACC and speaker cables.

if it was running an aftermarket HU previously, generally the colours of the cables should match up with your new one. (disclaimer, double check this is the case before you start) and if you are not 100% sure what you are doing, get a pro to do it.
