They already moved to new address n if not mistaken: argyle street arncliff.
Thank you. I like the type s side skirt and mugen one looks good as week eh. Hmm quite a dilemma here. How much is mugen wing from Paul?
woohoo! I made the right choice!
what video? linkkkkkkkkkkkkk plzzzz does it play the sound before and after?
any adverse effects of removing ur resonator? i thought it was illegal
did u DIY euroR?
paul is still sourcing mugen wing, waiting for his reply. he had to go overseas on an emergency and came back yesterday apparently
i got a reply from SG people and they said "due to recent soaring fuel prices, shipping cost will incur a 20% surcharge, making shipping more expensive than actual item, continue?"
so im assuming it will be over $300usd for the wing. 20% surcharge...what a crock of shi**. im guessing they didnt give me exact quote becuase they dont want me checking the rates up. i noe its not an official shipping quote. im asking for box size and weight and considering arranging own courier. at the very least i can then compare the rates when the fuel prices go down
i sure did D.I.Y, and the sound of my engine now is crazy, kind of sounds like a WRX with a massive cannon on idle when you step on the gas and rps reach around 3000!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zk0LN...layer_embedded
there's the video defcon posted up a few pages back, VERY VERY HELPFUL!
EDIT:
the video doesn't show the BEFORE and AFTER of the sound, i'll make one if you want, cos i already have a video of me revving my car with resonator on, i'll just make a video of me revving with it off!
what does the resonator do?
pretty much like the "silencer of a gun". since the CU2 is supposed to be a family based car, they try to make the engine as quite as possible.
the resonator is just there to suck air in and circulate in there before it is sucked into the engine, which makes it much quiter
however removing the resonator allows the engine's air intake to suck in air directly forcing the engine to have that aggressive suction noise, it's a free alternative for a short ram intake haha!
thats freakin huge! are u sure ur supposed to remove it? i cant imagine something so big missing from the front of the car. what about the bits that it connects to? those are pretty big pipe holes that are left open! arent there like filters and stuff that prevent random crap from floating into ur car?
i wonder how he managed to get his front lip fitted so perfectly after that video shows it being so wonkipated
o i c,
can upload that vid u have? the with and without resonator vid?
Okay so I slacked off...anyone wanna fill me in on what's been going on since I left? :P I'll be "eternally grateful" :D
Haha really now...tempting...I haven't taken mine out coz I'm gonna be taking it in for it's 10k km service soon...don't want them to think wtf is the resonator hehe.
DRL's arrived and given the wet weather in Qld, got them installed
Pic attached
Think they look alright. Looked at putting them in the fake air slot on the spoiler, but would have had to have recessed them into the bumper proper so opted for this spot.
Would the DRL's fit next to the foglights? Do they turn on without turning on your lights like other DRL - start car, lights off, DRL on -> lights on, DRL dims etc?
Where did you get them from?
Chunsa
Looked at next to fog's but won't fit. Even thought vertical next to the verical bar but no go
They are the smallest I could find - 4 leds wide 20mm high and probably 60mm deep with an angle
Got them form the states, JDM - got the ones with the switch, so ignition on, DRL's on, ignition off, DRL's turn off and when main lights are on, DRL's go off
Hey Kwangstuhhh - count me in
Front of it has more than one scratch unfortunately, grazed the bricks one night and stone chips like you would not believe - booked in for repairs in 2 weeks
haha yeah tony, i wouldn't take it out before the 10k service, i went for mine a few weeks ago with it dumped on the tein's and they were like "WTF?!"
so i can imagine their reaction if they had saw that the resonator being absent from the engine bay.
to those guys on the edge of their seat waiting for the before and after of the resonator video, you guys gotta have to wait a few more days (most likely after new years) cos i'm too busy at work.
which reminds me, HAPPY NEW YEARS CU2 MODDERS!
EDIT
ok, so i had some free time, so here they are:
BEFORE:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXtg7XNdvxo
AFTER:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmSsk6c2pkM
cbf blurring out numberplate, this is for those guys waiting for it, personally i don't think there's THAT much of a difference revving in one spot like i am doing in the videos, the sound is much more pleasing to hear when actually driving down roads and hitting that 3000rps, orgasm to ears :D
how much were the drls? any issues requiring them to be sealed from wet weather? i got a set for $10 which look the same as urs but was advised to seal them
have yet to install them
Can you take a picture of the upper pillow please? Thank you :)
@NSHonda: Thanks for that info. Sounds like some good proper DRL! As fury mentioned where did you get them from? JDM?
@euroRwannabe: Nice clips! Were there any implications with removing the resonator or was it straightforward? Any things that need to be covered up? or is it just the black piping (I remember removing the resonator on the CL9 which was easy and nothing to cover up unlike the Prelude which had some valve thing). Really looking forward to doing this mod just to save "weight" haha
Im not sure exactly is the upper mounts but i had a google on pillow mounts and i dont think i have that??
http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/2737/img0281o.jpg
sorry for the big pic. i should have resized.
A read the manual, it says can use OEM mounts.
or i can purchase the tein upper mounts~
ohwell. oem it is then~
Thats good news, hopefully you can use the stock one:) keep us updated with the installation :)
Fury 3
Won't waste time and money with el cheap, not on my CU2, been there in the past, never again
Basically just had to bolt them in, once I worked out best spot, blue tack is a great thing!!
Got them from the states - jdm toy, but have seen recently that Jaycar Electrics have a set. Not sure how good, but look ok
how much did it cost then?
do u have a photo of the drls before install? so i can compare with mine. its just that im pretty sure jdm toy and jaycar all source similar products from china, which are the same ones off ebay. thats why i decided to get it from deal extreme, cause they look exactly the same but only $10
if u are using blutack...doesnt it melt? i have blutack on the inside of my car and it soften up to become useless, i cant imagine it being on the outside :S
and euroR, that sounds awesome...u need a video of u doing a driveby so we can hear the driving sound. did u get a kn filter as well? would go well together
You can used the OEM upper mounts for tein basic. However Tein super street they provided you complete set include the upper mounts.
Hey guys, does anyone know what bulbs can replace the light for the rear number plate? I wanna change mine to white so they can match my H.I.D's, which are 6000k.
OMFG GUYS.
shittest start to the new year...
here's the story:
so i parked the CU2 outside my girlfriends house and we both cabbed it to a NYE party only because I knew i was gonna get drunk there, so i didn't wanna drive to the party and leave the car there and cab home.
ANYWAYS, during the process of me getting drunk some idiots around my girlfriend's neighbourhood (which isn't known to be a very chaotic, quite peaceful) decided to use some sort of sharp object and draw on the paint of my CU2, definately sharper than a key because the scratches are FREAKEN DEEP!
help me out guys, got any ideas on how i can touch all this up so it's like new again, i'm really praying that i don't have to re-spray the entire car again, my budget is too low for that option. Friends have been telling me that there are places out there who can touch it up with a special spray pen that kind of looks like a tattoo pen. Anyone know about this? If so please let me know about these places, it'll be much more cheaper than spraying the entire car.
here's a picture of the poor thing.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l1...i/IMG_0508.jpg
this is only one part, it is pretty much like this on the other side of my car and on the boot. luckily they didn't touch the front of my car.
Damn that is terrible... i hope Karma catches up with the loser who did this. Hope you can find a cheap easy way to restore it.
Haha yeahh...probably hit 10k at the end of Jan. It's a much deeper "RAWRRRR" without the resonator lol.
I think someone's mentioned this but yeah it's 2 T10 Bulbs, just get the single LED ones, that's what I've got :)
Ewwwwww FK THAT! Happened to my friend who parked his car outside his cousin's house. Cost about $600 with insurance to repair the key marks :S. It sucks even more coz it's a black car :(. That's why I avoid driving my Euro out...usually drive my Jazz out if it's somewhere I park and don't have eyes on :P
Anyways best of luck getting all that fixed man :S
and Happy New Year all :) may 2011 be twice as epic for everyone !!
Eurowannabe
That is not good!
Hope karma hits them hard
Furythree
Blue tack used to decide location only
The ones I got come with a separate mount, screwed up under bar
DRLs can then be adjusted or removed independantly of bracket
ugh
i was stopped on the side of the road on pitt st on NYE to pick up my gf
i stopped and relaxed a few seconds. then BOOM my car jolts forward. i look behind me, the street is completely empty except for one doofus who tried to squeeze a bloody commodore in behind my euro. there was a 1km stretch of empty road for him to park, and he insisted on squeezing behind my car wtff
i got out and THANK BLOODY GOD NO DENT (this is the SECOND TIME ITS HAPPENED!) and the whole time the dude was like oh man so sorry, its not even my car. im like I DONT CARE IF ITS NOT UR CAR< UR STILL RESPONSIBLE!
but he was nice about it and gave me his details and offered to wire me the cost of repairs. There was no evident bumper damage, but there was one deep scratch/hole (his nose nudged my bumper so went inwards and not scrappppppppee along the length, thank god)
the hole is a bit deep as it literally looks like a little crater. touch up paint wont work, becasue its deep and needs something to fill the hole first.
the problem is, im geting a lip installed soon, so it SHOULD cover up the scratch. but since hes offering to pay for it...is it worth going to someplace to get it fixed up and then billing him anyway? and its so insignificant to go to all the trouble of booking in a tiny repair like that...but i hate looking at it!
Sorry to hear that guys, I can feel your pain here :(
wow, sorry to hear about the accidents guys, hope you both can sort them out soon.
there are always some stupid monkeys out there who are not supposed to drive at all... even worse they don't have any respect for other people's cars.
this afternoon i went to my local Woolies and chose an empty spot away from other cars... then there was this monkey Camry driver decided to park so close next to my car, like 50cms away, although there were like 30 other empty car spots everywhere.
luckily i was still in the car and immediately i drove away before the monkeys inside the Camry had any chance of striking their doors wide open into my car.
I feel the pain you are suffering guys...
I have had bad experiences with previous cars.. burnt in basement garage (written off), hit from the back by a driver who was talking on a mobile phone (repaired), crushed by a scavenger truck (written off).
@furythree: even if the lip kit were to cover it, it's best to just get it fixed because maybe down the track you decide to take the lip off and decide on a new kit etc, that piece of damage will eat at you non stop
@euroRwannabe: I think that will have to go under a respray, if your finger nail can catch onto the scratches doesn't sound good. However try speaking to a car detailer and see what they can do first.
Hope these are the last of 2010 woes and onto new 2011 mods and better things!

hi guys,
anyone experienced with installing coil overs for the cu2? or in general that knows how to install?
willing to help out a noob?
Ive read a few thread and also looked at youtube vids. and it doesnt look all that complicated.
Im going to super cheap today. get some tools.
My mates gonna come over too to help.
ok sounds like i should get it fixed up...i actually have 4 dings on my doors as well from retards who dont take car in car parks...one on each door...it looks so bad up close cause the touch up paint isnt shiny and smooth.
i feel like i shud invest in those door bumper things. but then uve got ppl who drive cars at different heights so it wont help much.
anyone know of a place i can go in syd for cheap touch up? or shud i get it all done by the panel beater whos going to paint and install my kit? (problem is thats going to be a months time...that guy might not pay up then)
We trying to do it now. Hard part is getting the shocks off first. We still trying to undo it. We don't have a spring compressor.
Ad from what I see. I don't think a spring compressor will fit.
I called a mech friend. told me to just undo the bottom bolt. and the spring will only pop out about 1 inch or less. so it wont hit the bottom thing i was worried about. and i wont need to use the spring compressor.
i will use the spring compressor anyways. ( found a way to clamp it on )
If i get it done. i will make a DIY :) stay tuned:)
Bad luck man...man maybe it's a good thing I didn't take my Euro out on NYE haha =S...one accident after another...one in each state...I could've been the one in QLD! But yeah if he's willing to owe up then go for the repairs...I know your feeling man, owned 3-4 times in the rear end by people who can't park isn't fun. At least you were at the scene when that happened! Mine all have been hit and runs =(. Anyways all the best with the repairs mate.
Good luck man!
^yeah you only need to compress the springs if you want to change the springs. otherwise its just a matter of taking the old one out, and putting the new one in
hey kwang have u been able to get in touch with paul from bodykitskingdom at all?
hes not responding to any of my emails
he shud be back from his "emergency trip" (which coincidentally was the week of christmas)
need my mugen lip naooowwww
ah its ok just got a reply from him. says hes got a backlog of emails to respond to. also mentioned he found alot of mugen wing retailers but not manufacturers. but will keep looking cause theres alot of demand
sounds like business is a boomin'
hi guys,
I got them installed,
Went to Ben from touge tune. i would highly recomend him!!!
1 Problem,
The shop didnt send me a full set. so i was missing 2 spring adaptors. ( the gold circle bits you put when your using the oem upper mounts.)
so now the fronts are just sitting on the rubber.
We couldnt put the stock back on because we already took up the springs to use the oem mounts.
but the cars so low, looks hawt!
http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/5489/img0309nj.jpg
http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/6471/img0314os.jpg
http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/8876/img0315od.jpg
Hey people who installed tein super streets. Did you get 2 or 4 spring seat adapters?
mm nice how much is the drop?
1 finger gap left.
http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/9899/img0317mu.jpg
only problem is . tein didnt pack the box properly.
so i got only 2 spring seats.
at at the moment the cars driving on 2 rears with spring seats. and the fronts without.
so all i can do it drive carefully. until they send me the other 2.
i just contacted www.advancespeedshop.com and they are forwarding the pictures and all that to tein to get a replacement
but the thing that sucks is. i have to do the installation again.
Ben said he will charge me a little less . but its such a pain. Tein shoudl have done it right the first time. i guess this is the difference between tein JP and tein USA
looks so nice
im still waiting for a tracking number for my tein springs, the seller hasnt responded for a week. getting worried. but theyre closed fri - sun so have to try to contac tthem again on monday. sigh thank god i paid via paypal
nopes, didnt know it was missing til we installing it. and by that time we already took off the original springs so we can use the oem mounts.
so we just installed it because we didnt have a spring compressor machine to put back the oem shocks n springs together,
The fronts are loaded up pretty hard. so it can try to hold the spring tighter.
the ride quality isnt too bad. I can still go over speed humps easily which was surprising. i did a test on chatswood westfield carpark. n no scrap or anything going up the ramps. so im happy with that.
i might raise it to 2 finger gaps tho. 10mm more, coz im prety sure over time it will drop abit more. and this will be a daily.
i got a reply today
(took them a whole week to ship it out wtf)
its via ups, but for some reason the tracking website says:
Last Location:
Arrived - Philadelphia, PA, United States, Friday, 01/07/2011
Horsham, PA, United States 01/07/2011 11:02 P.M. Departure Scan
01/07/2011 9:40 P.M. Origin Scan
United States 01/07/2011 5:49 P.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS
sooo...i have no idea why it got moved from horsham to philly, hopefully its like a centralisation movement to be flown overseas.
and my address is written as "Suburb, Au" no state :S hope it still gets here ok
ive contacted the seller to make sure its all good cause the UPS website allows for the sender to update the delivery address before it arrives.
fingers crossed. so excited tho! XD
got your springs yet furythree?
I msg another dealer also heeltoe, he says the kit ment to have only 2 rings. liek what i have. and generally at the fronts.
seems weird tho. didnt get 4 thou the manual says installed fronst n rears~~~
weird...
not yet, but the tracking details said it has moved again to louisiana but has been there since the 9th. oh well at least its moving. dont need it urgently anyway
also just bought the mugen rear lip kit off paul today.
so everything shoudl arrive together roughly at the same time. right on schedule. 2 weeks into the new year and all ive been doing is spending spending spending :p
Anyone have details on how the hid auto levelers work?
coz mines shining really low.
is there a way to raise it abit.
according to tracking website, my mum just signed for my springs
yay!
Awesome news fury
alright guys,
My cars the lux model. so it has auto leveler.
After i lowered the car. my headlights seem to be pointing down. .
The auto levelers are working because i tested it just now. and it did mov up n down.
Is this the knob i turn to make it higher?
the yellow orangy thingo. its very tiny!
http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/1278/img0363d.jpg
http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/3078/img0364vw.jpg
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/7503/img0365fw.jpg
wow our headlights move?? never knew that lol
omg i never knew that. its automatic too. but not sideways right
so if i lower my car i have to adjust it?
hmm....speedo cluster with a touch of red...from the type-s models...not sure from where...
bout half way down the page.
http://tsx.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=797653
anyone got the current honda nav maps software?
Yo TurBice....i have fiddled around with my headlight this afternoon and...here's how it goes..
in that picture, that is the adjustment knob. Use a 5mm socket and twist it:
Clockwise brings the beam down
Anti-Clockwise brings the beam up <---this is that you will need to do to bring the beam to shine back up
Playaround with the adjustment until you think it is reasonably shining far enough. Make sure you are parked on level ground and adjust both sides so they form an even horizontal line
:)
hey guys i saw in the internet that u can look under ur hood or something and find a paint code, with which u can take to autobarn and they can make a spray can with the exact same paint colour for resprays?
ive got like door scrapes on four doors on my car, and its getting pretty unbearable for me. the touch up paint brush is too coarse so the touch up area is darker and extremely noticeable.
any1 know if this is true? and will the paint be metallic etc? do i need this thing called primer or something?
Hai Gaiz
lol sorry i've been too busy lately...especially helping out with the floods around BNE/work. Anyways good to hear you got ur springs + the rear lip off Paul Fury! wooo :D
Looking forward to seeing them put to the test :).
btw if you want the colour codes:
BU - [NH743M] Buran silver metallic
CB - [NH731P] Crystal black pearl
PO - [NH737M] Polished metal metallic
CW - [NH624P] Premium white pearl
Hope that helps :).
I haven't personally got Autobarn to spray stuff for me but I know they sell colour-matching paint in the spray cans (for smaller quantity). I'm probably not gonna go with Autobarn coz I have a mate in the signage industry and has connections to get Genuine Honda paint :P. I think I'm gonna be getting the Modulo rear bumper soon, once I figure out what car I want to replace my daily driver with...Also building a new pc to replace my current one...just too tied up with things lately!...Need to conserve money :(( Otherwise I'd be finished with doing all the things to my Euro by now! I've still yet to tint the car. Haven't driven my Euro much lately, still haven't reached the 10k mark! lol
