How do you actually use the shifters :o

inflyt247
13-08-2011, 11:17 PM
If you're in drive, click the paddles down/up and it will do just that. Once it senses you're driving normally it will go back to auto.

However, shift into [s] mode and it's just like a clutch less manual.. Although I haven't used that mode much just yet....

Is anyone interested in buying a brand new genuine Modulo front bumper? Please let me know.

Edit: Honda is currently having a sale on the full Modulo kit for $2,799. This includes the front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper, spoiler and sports grille. I'm after the rear bumper + side skirts only thus I'm asking if anyone needs the rest so we can split it. Sale ends real soon.

How much is the bumper?

euRo_noob
15-08-2011, 03:59 PM
They're only selling the kit as a whole... if we're after seperate parts, it's just normal prices :( I asked how much it'd be for the rear bumper + side skirt and he said $1,400. Also, if you were interested, I'd think about buying the whole kit then just parting out that front bumper for you and I'd keep the rest/sell the sports grille and spoiler.

engine oil...not petrol
wat do you think happens during a service? a honda mechanic takes apart your engine, gives it an overhaul, then reassembles the parts and runs a full performance diagnostic on it?

its mostly just oil change, filter change. check engine doesnt assplode, brakes work/arent worn/are worn so they can upsell you etc

While I can do the servicing on my car myself, which I've done on many occasions on previous cars, and can even do a more thorough job, the fact remains that I am neither a qualified, nor authorized "service centre" and would therefore fcuk up my warranty, not to mention lose out on any potential resale value by not having a service booklet stamped by dealers or authorized service centres. Sad but true.

Hi, I'm interested in fitting the Modulo kit to my car.

May I ask who offered you the price of $2,799 for the kit?

I want the front and rear bumpers + side skirts, but without the wing spoiler (I prefer the Ducktail version).

I sent an enquiry through to the dealer, and got this response:

"In regards to a Modulo kit for your 2010 Accord Euro in Volcano Grey:

"Honda only offers it as a kit (Front & Rear Aero Bar, Sports Grille, Side Skirts and Wing type boot spoiler) and don’t allow us to change the style of the boot spoiler
The price of Parts is $3580, in the kit form.

"If you would like the Duck Tail type Spoiler we would have to buy everything individually which would greatly increase the cost of parts to $4284.

"The labour to Fit these items would be 6 hours at $132 per hour for a total of $792.

"Thank you for your enquiry."

Does anyone know what's the best way to go when buying the Modulo accessories, and then having them fitted?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Tony.

Hey guys, I posed this in the "No Cu2's In Aust?" thread but I think I'll probably get a better response here... Thanks in advance!

I'm still in two minds of what to do. The only thing I would want to do is put some 20's on it and lower it slightly so it won't look like a 4x4 if I do put rims on it.

I don't really know much about the lowering of cars so I thought I would ask some advice before I go any further (maybe I should post this in the Cu2 mods thread??). As I said I don't wanna slam it, just a modest drop to make it look better with 20's on it. Can I lower it just using Pedders springs all round? My Lancer is was dropped just using Pedders springs all round and it had no problems at all, and the ride was still pretty good. Any advice would be great.

Is there anything else I should know bout lowering a cu2 on 20's?

think the main worries are speedo and camber issues...

I assume the speedo would read slightly slower than?

well...camber issues can be fixed by camber kit and the costs adds up.

i dont think it is just a bit slower...from what i know 19" rims would be the appropriate maximum size as the speedo reading seems to be almost spot on...say reading of 99km/h when driving at 100km/h as opposed to 96km/h read out when driving 100km/h...not exactly sure but it is there abouts.

plus by lowering and having camber issues would wear out ur tyres sooner than normally would...plus the cost to replace a single tyre is approximately low $400 per tyre....it adds up...plus found out that the prices of tyres have just gone up recently when i had to change all 4 of my tyres after 3 years...

got mine on teins ss damper kit with edfc kit with the front and rear lowered 15mm and 10mm respectively...anymore than that and camber would start to become a issue....and i am still running the standard lux rims with one finger gap on front and rear.

if you can get coilovers that would better than just springs depending on how long u gonna keep the car lowered plus gives u flexibility to adjust the height and damper depending on ur situation...

inflyt247

I just got the car so I plan on keeping it for a few years yet.

What are some decent coil over brands to look at? I'm not the sort of guy to go sourcing parts and that, I'd rather line it up at a work shop, tell them what I want and let them do there thing. Just like to research so I know a little bit of what I'm talking about first.

I'm not looking at going all out lowering it and slam the car, but I don't want to do it half assed either. How easy is it to adjust the height of coil overs?

i initially looked at the modulo suspension and spring kit as well as the mugen ones but they were just shockes and springs set and did not offer flexibility plus the cost of them are not that justifiable compared to coilovers in regards to the price of buying them...
but the costs of installing them are cheaper than coilovers as you would expect coilovers need a bit of testing and setting up to get to work how u want it...

there are few...teins...bc...and a few others which i am not too sure if they make them or not for the cu2. plus with the high dollar late last year, a full tein ss damper kit itself shipped from the usa would be around the $1400 mark shipped. as i had the edfc kit installed with my teins coilovers, the process and setup took longer and was bit more tedious and costed more than just the coilovers installation. And the price varies...had mine corner tuned, setup by a track specialist and someone who knew their stuff and did it properly. and i can tell u it was not cheap...but worth it.

adjusting would dependign on how much u are adjusting it...5mm toreance is fine without any need to do a balance and alignemnt test. 10mm or more you would as camber issues will come into play and few other factors...to adjust it properly would be ideally done at the same place that isntalled ur coilovers but would not take long at all...

plus with springs only u may find that ur car is lower but still feels bit bouyant especially when driving through dips in roads and similar situations...

i think there is one or two members who have 20"rims on their cu2s and a few who have also the teins ss damper coilovers... and some who have just went with the springs options...

1 finger gap would be decent enough for lowering...

if u decide to use teins...speak to a company called fulcrum in your local state area and they would be able direct u to a authorised reputable installer and just a note the installation would be under warranty. if u buy the parts locally, then the parts and installation are fully covered with warranty. but if u buy the parts say from the USA, then the only thing covered is the installation....just a piece of mind if something goes wrong...

get teins like everyone else
the price and quality is second tonone.
go to ebay then ask sellers for a better deal esp on shippping

u can go for the coilovers or just springs like me.

im considering19''s but hard to get wheels that size, ad speedo issues.
i think 20s on a euro is excessive, but neccessary if you lower your cari got a kiton mine so have serious height issues lol

is there a way to calculate the speedo diffwith biggerwheels?

http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

the tyre size is the determing factor , so having 19 rims doesn't make a difference when talking about speedo issues, other than that tyre sizes that closely match stock diameter tyres may be more rare in 19 and quite expensive.

You could choose from any of 225/40/19, 235/40/19, 245/35/19, or 245/40/19 all being well within tolerance. Not sure the 245/35 would match the 98 load rating though.

There aren't many issues really.. as long as you're realistic and do your research... at the end of the day there are really only 2 issues to consider.. safety and legality.

thought this might be useful for those who are thinking of removing the amber bit on their headlights, got my headlight lens removed from the housing at a place that specialises in headlight repairs in Melbourne metro area.

Since I replaced my headlights with the UK clear indictor ones, thought I give it ago as I was not game enough to do it myself plus didnt have an oven big enough.

The place is called Headlight & Heaters in Abbottsford, VIC. Costs $40 exc GST to do one of the headlights, that is to REMOVE THE CLEAR LENS ONLY and $75 excl GST to RESEAL IT PROPERLY WITHOUT ANY ISSUES PLUS WARRANTY ON THE WORKMANSHIP should anything go wrong.

So far only took the lens off as was planning to do few retrofit mods to the headlight and few other things. Atm, took apart fully only one of the headlights and if time permits and what I can source then only I will put it back together.

Just thought might be useful for those in VIC who are planning to do this mod.

so what is the middle one? which one is stock? where do u get the left one from? i want purply for Parkers!

http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

the tyre size is the determing factor , so having 19 rims doesn't make a difference when talking about speedo issues, other than that tyre sizes that closely match stock diameter tyres may be more rare in 19 and quite expensive.

You could choose from any of 225/40/19, 235/40/19, 245/35/19, or 245/40/19 all being well within tolerance. Not sure the 245/35 would match the 98 load rating though.

hmm so i have to worry about, odo, tyre diameter, rim size, offset, width, and now this load rating thing too? did i miss anything?

Yeh you have to worry about all that and load rating. Load rating is how much weight each tyre can support and it has to be equal or greater to the rating of the tyres your car came with (the 235/45/18 on lux rims have 98). This is all about staying technically legal. You won't compromise safety or anything if you go to 93-94.

do cops have some magical tool to measure load rating when they pull u over or something

is there a way to calculate how much odo is affected with different overall wheel sizes?

Well its one of the easiest things for cops to check if they are looking for a reason to get u. The load rating the car came with is always shown on the door jam or near there and the current load rating you have is shown on the tyres themselves.

Easy way to calculate speedo diff is use this tool...

"Coolant heats up the throttle body, making the air entering the engine hotter. No coolant entering the throttle body makes it cooler, the colder the air traveling into the engine the better your engine performs. "

ok yea the wheels looks better and the extra stuff u get like auto lights and bluetooth and usb is good, head lights are nicer(but i wouldnt go 'wow') and the blue strip isnt even a DRL (to me "whats the point?").

the chrome on the boot, to me is real tacky, like a subaru impreza MY11, holden epica, holden barina.
i dont know why they smoked red the rear lights. seriously. WHY?

When I see a euro passing me I always think "drools" but when I see a facelift one I'm just like 'mehh'

each to their own. It just feels as if they dd the facelift just for a facelift and it was a 'good enough' situation.

Also, its not that i hate it. There is just nothing that tickles my fancy (if that makes sense)

Chrome on the boot contrasts excellently against a darker colour like the black Euros. IMO, it looks superb on the black, really sets it off. I do like the Euro Luxury's bi-xenon headlights *drools*, though I agree with you with the pink tint to the rear lights.

Chrome on the boot is not just tacked on, i checked. The rear lights look good on white, i tend to think they will spoil darker colours.

The complete interior trim is different (seems better quality) on the base model

Hey guys,

Sorry, I know rims and wheels have been discussed many times before as I've been following this thread since 12x pages but back then, I didn't really pay attention to the specs as I didn't know much (I still don't, therefore the questioning). But if I search, there are just too many results and I want a more refined/specific answer.

Anyways, I wanted to know what would be the 'best' rims specs for 19". I want a flush look, my car is sort of low. Picture for reference:
http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/9468/img1231qa.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/560/img1231qa.jpg/)

I've been told to go 19x8.5 + 38 front and +35 in the rear. I know of a guy, running 19x9.5 +45 all round but I want to go a lower offset. What would be the lowest possible offset I could go? And should I just stick to a certain width all round or could I go more wide in the rears?

I've already gotten my front guards rolled as they were rubbing/cutting my tyres.

Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.

Edit: Also guys, what is the difference between the sizes of progress RSB's? 19mm and 22mm? What would be for our cars?

just out of curiosity...just last night I noticed a very faint light shining from both the passenger and driver's footwell area...looked and found out that there are footwell lights...that is the light blue colored footwell lights.

was wondering if any other owners noticed it. My ride is a 2009 CU2 Lux Navi model.

Will try to take some pics over the next few days when I get time.

Yeah, turn up the brightness on the dashlight and it gets brighter in the footwell as well. If you have the accent lighting that also gets brighter with the dashlight setting.

What's everyone's opinion on RAY GT30's on a white CU2? I've been suggested to go those rims as I'll have about 81mm dish in the rears at least since our cars can't really go for aggressive offsets? :/ unless someone can help me out.

Thanks.

Brings new meaning to being "OEM baller"..........

Dam.......they are pretty good though. I regularly went to OP, have been to two wakefield days and will still managed to get 40,000 out of them. I'm sure potenza's wont last as long and grip would have gone off alot earlier overall..

didn't plan it very well and ended up just taking these as they were the only ones in stock...............should have ordered some dunlop stars.

Those wheels will fit fine. I don't think you'll need to roll anything? But I'm not an expert on knowing when to roll or not. You MIGHT have to roll the fronts. The rear's should be fine. Are you lowered on anything/how low is your car?

19x8.5 ET +35 fits fine with 245/35/19 as long as you dont lower yr car too much.
19x9.5 ET +35 will need guard rolling and camber at around -3.0 t0 -3.5 egrees to fit.

235/40/19 will do the trick for the 9.5.

19x9.5 ET+22 will need full flat guard roll + PULL. without these, u will not get those wheels to clear your guards unless u are on stock height and dont go over bumps too quickly

Roughly how much negative camber would I need to run? And the 9.5 +22 is only for the rears, not fronts.

Roughly how much negative camber would I need to run? And the 9.5 +22 is only for the rears, not fronts.

ALOT!

i know its for the rear. impossible for front anyways.

im guessing -3.5 to -4 deg. depending on how stretched your tyres are.
Then again, there are no tyres narrower than 245mm in 19inch that will satisfy the load rating of stock tyres.

235/35 is in the region of 87Y XL <----- XL = extra load, should be around 650kg/tyre
225/35 well......85W maybe? no idea

your call on using under rated load ratings. if a tyre blows under heavy cornering/potholes, 1st thing to go off will be your wheels, and followed by possibly hubs. and your fuel tank sits just around the rear axle. it will bottom out and rupture :)

if you are correcting anything more than (+) or (-) 1 degree, you will need all 3 arms or at least the Toe arm + Camber Arm to get the setup right. Remember: incorrect Toe settings will wear off your tyres way quicker than camber

Was thinking the same, a quick hack would be to put a small monitor with HDMI input on top of the dash and use a smartphone with HDMI output to drive it. Get it to reflect on the windshield and it could work.

Some Nokias have a simplified in-car interface for GPS, music and calls. But then you'd need to flip the image so it'll show the right way round.

I was thinking. Remove the center speaker. so it will have a small hole.
This is where you can fit the HUD and hide the wires. all behind/under the dash.
so it will be clean with nothing sitting on the dash.

Anyone here has a stock CU2 grill lying around in their shed?
Preferably the MY12 three strip but prefacelift is also good.
PM me if you're keen on selling...

hey guys,
shit it's been a while since i've posted something,
i'm planning to get a set of wheels with the following specs:
18x8.75 5x114.3 +35
and my cu2 is currently on Tein S Tech Springs.
Just wondering if those wheel specs are too aggressive and if guard rolling is needed?
Will invest in coilovers at a later stage when i have money lol..

Here's a recent photo of my car since it's been like last year since i've last posted haha.

Haha it's a tiny as gap. If anything, it's less than a 1cm gap between the hood and grill.
Anyone wanna help me out with my wheel specs issue?

More aggressive wheels spec, more respect. hahaha

I think it all depend again which tyres you go for and how low you will be sitting. I would think that they needed to be rolled. Its +35, meaning sticking out 20mm from +55 stock and your rims are 8.75 compared to 7 stock. So that's a total of 3.75cm out from stock wheels.

Btw, this is the first time hearing that they have 8.75. I have only come across 8.5 or 9.

Nice spot! But... does this create any gain etc on the CU2?

Not sure what do you mean by gain. but if you mean power gain, then no. Throttle controller's about adjusting the sensitivity of your throttle.

Had mine set on middle setting. Besides getting a much better instant response from the throttle, the gearbox seems to hold gear alot longer in "D" mode (kinda like in S mode) This means, alot more fun to drive now.

I had a similar device made by Pivot on my FD and it did improve the lag throttle response but I doubt it will gain dramatic benefit on CU2 since I cannot feel a severe throttle lag, if there is any it's nothing compared to FD.

No not power gain of course... its a throttle controller... What I meant to ask is "Is it worthed to put it on CU2?"

I think you sir has answer my question :)

You will be surprised to find the lag after you have the throttle controller ;)

I think as a overall, its more worth it on a manual car (doesn't matter if its CU2 or CL9) than a auto car. In manual, since all gear shifting is manually controlled, a throttle lag will be annoying when the car isn't doing what you have just inputed. But in auto, everything's pretty much done for you, so the lag isn't as noticable. Hope it makes sense.

So......is it worthwhile to have......yes its still quite nice to have in my auto cu2, but its not exactly essential.
