Looks good mate but did the shop know that the part was missing? If they did, they shouldn't of installed it in the first place.

nopes, didnt know it was missing til we installing it. and by that time we already took off the original springs so we can use the oem mounts.
so we just installed it because we didnt have a spring compressor machine to put back the oem shocks n springs together,
The fronts are loaded up pretty hard. so it can try to hold the spring tighter.

the ride quality isnt too bad. I can still go over speed humps easily which was surprising. i did a test on chatswood westfield carpark. n no scrap or anything going up the ramps. so im happy with that.

i might raise it to 2 finger gaps tho. 10mm more, coz im prety sure over time it will drop abit more. and this will be a daily.

i got a reply today
(took them a whole week to ship it out wtf)
its via ups, but for some reason the tracking website says:
Last Location:
Arrived - Philadelphia, PA, United States, Friday, 01/07/2011

Horsham, PA, United States 01/07/2011 11:02 P.M. Departure Scan
01/07/2011 9:40 P.M. Origin Scan
United States 01/07/2011 5:49 P.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

sooo...i have no idea why it got moved from horsham to philly, hopefully its like a centralisation movement to be flown overseas.

and my address is written as "Suburb, Au" no state :S hope it still gets here ok
ive contacted the seller to make sure its all good cause the UPS website allows for the sender to update the delivery address before it arrives.

fingers crossed. so excited tho! XD

Yo TurBice....i have fiddled around with my headlight this afternoon and...here's how it goes..
in that picture, that is the adjustment knob. Use a 5mm socket and twist it:

Clockwise brings the beam down
Anti-Clockwise brings the beam up <---this is that you will need to do to bring the beam to shine back up

Playaround with the adjustment until you think it is reasonably shining far enough. Make sure you are parked on level ground and adjust both sides so they form an even horizontal line
:)

hey guys i saw in the internet that u can look under ur hood or something and find a paint code, with which u can take to autobarn and they can make a spray can with the exact same paint colour for resprays?

ive got like door scrapes on four doors on my car, and its getting pretty unbearable for me. the touch up paint brush is too coarse so the touch up area is darker and extremely noticeable.

any1 know if this is true? and will the paint be metallic etc? do i need this thing called primer or something?

fury - i have definitely used the matched spray paint from Autobarn before for my White Pearl Euro (with the pearl and metallic effect). Result was acceptable. I think you will need a primer only if you can see bare metal. good luck with the repairs.

lol sorry i've been too busy lately...especially helping out with the floods around BNE/work. Anyways good to hear you got ur springs + the rear lip off Paul Fury! wooo :D
Looking forward to seeing them put to the test :).

btw if you want the colour codes:
BU - [NH743M] Buran silver metallic
CB - [NH731P] Crystal black pearl
PO - [NH737M] Polished metal metallic
CW - [NH624P] Premium white pearl

Hope that helps :).

I haven't personally got Autobarn to spray stuff for me but I know they sell colour-matching paint in the spray cans (for smaller quantity). I'm probably not gonna go with Autobarn coz I have a mate in the signage industry and has connections to get Genuine Honda paint :P. I think I'm gonna be getting the Modulo rear bumper soon, once I figure out what car I want to replace my daily driver with...Also building a new pc to replace my current one...just too tied up with things lately!...Need to conserve money :(( Otherwise I'd be finished with doing all the things to my Euro by now! I've still yet to tint the car. Haven't driven my Euro much lately, still haven't reached the 10k mark! lol

lol u didnt measure the drop when u adjusted the coils?
is it lowered more than using springs alone?

TurBIce
18-01-2011, 05:00 PM
I measure by fingers:)
ahahahaha

when i just went off what was stock height. then lowered all corners accordingly.

when i first had it on. it was on teins recommended settings. and that was wayyy too low for daily ( im soft)
that had a little bit of the tyre hiding under the guard on all corners.
so now i raised it abit. 10mm. so thats an extra finger gap :)

fingers the way to measure:)

im not sure about using sprins alone. coz i never had just springs.

TurBIce

good price mate, new set is about $1500.
my only concern is that we never know whether its really done 4000km or 40000km?
and i m not 100$ sure, but i thought the modulo kit is usually in white colour, where as the 'mugen' one is the black ones. have a look around.

Hey, this is actually my auction on Ebay. I added new pics today.

To answer a few questions... it really has only done that few kms. I can provide a professional installation receipt showing the date of install (aug '10). It is not Modulo brand or Mugen but rather HFP. In Aus and SE Asia for instance, they call some honda accessory parts Modulo (see website), although Honda aus never brought the suspension kit here. It is simply a difference in branding name used in difference markets. In the US market, HFP is the brand, and in Asian markets its Modulo. This kit is from the US.

See this post for intance about branding http://www.uaeboost.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8242. Thats not to say the setup is identical. Honda don't release spring rates so i cant say for sure. It is a bit stiffer than stock though. I can't say if Modulo is as I've never tried it . There could be slight variations in tuning, but the quality of the parts is exactly the same. Any other questions at all feel free to PM me.

I have been thinking about getting coilovers myself, hence bit more info like that sure helps.
But can you tell me then, where do you source the HFP coilovers? were they from suspension city? was it a competitive price?

Thanks:) Only the installation was done at Suspension City. They cannot get Honda accessories. They only deal in aftermarket, such as King and Eibach springs, Koni etc. I have relatives in Canada and I got them to buy this from a dealer last year and send it over :)

Just added some pics of test fitting ofthe rear lip

it sags a bit so u cant see the reflector. even after i propped it up, it still needs to go up a bit higher. will see what the mechanic says this week

also note the crack. luckily it wasnt in some awkward place. ive taped it together from flexing outwards anymore. luckily its on the underside and shudnt matter too much after install.

and i test fitted the side skirts again. after removing the double sided tape, the thickness of the top edge was enough to slot into the gap under thedoor. still dont mind slicing that edge off completely tho
will look nice with paint.

love the rear lip, but contemplating whether shud wrap the bottom edge that juts out between the exhaust tips with carbon fibre vynl or not. because i remember the normal mugen lip is one whole paint piece, but one of the special mugen versions (the red one) had that piece in carbon fibre. black on grey would be a nice contrast. but its going to be a pain wrapping it so may just paint the whole thing first then wrap over it if i decide to later

how did the fitament work out? did u need to resort to any 3m double sided tape?

i dont get what ur doing with the front tho? looks customs, did u ditch the type S lip?

also Paul emailed me saying he was able to source a replica mugen grille. i know he had one already, but this new one is an EXACT replica in FULL CARBON FIBRE. not wrapped, not cheap black plasticy edge (which replaces our nice white one). but looks pretty identical to the original (like youngster's and sanyuh's). but more pricier than the previous one obviously. (i cant remember the old price, direct from manfacturer was about $60 so i think paul was selling for like $100) new one is $140 + shipping + profit margin im assuming. but alot better build quality and include emblem.

thanks

front still has some gap. it should be elimnated with some double sided tape

rear is fine. i overcut the exhaust tips so theres some gaps. im not too happy about the exhaust tips fitting perfectly like i had on the OEM bumper. i will need to add double sided tape

im doing my version combining the mugen half bumper and mugen full bumper. also added some of my own details to it. yea its definitely custom like my other work.

im keeping the type s rear permanently because i like that look. the front i might switch off an on. for sure ill be putting the custom half bumper when i go to meets while the type s front lip will be daily driven.

Haha it's the underside but if you look at it you can still sorta see it from a specific angle. Yeah I dunno I've been planning to get the lip kit for quite some time now...still considering as I haven't tinted my car yet + spent quite a lot lately =_=...

I'm looking at the Cooper S or......and when I win the lottery - 135i or M3 =P...Drove the Cooper S whilst I was down in Sydney for holidays and instantly fell in love with it haha. The drive was also amazing, packs so much power for such a small car =D. But I'll see...I'm already struggling with decision making as it is loooool...if only money wasn't an issue D=.

Man I dunno if I can afford paying off a house at the moment! House pricings are just ridiculous =\...Maybe if I was getting paid $100/hr working full time then I'll consider investing in a house =P hahaha

cooper S is a chicks car....dont get it.

also getting my springs installed wednesday.

and my insurance just expired today. havent renewed it yet cause i dont need the car anymore except for weekends (new job is 12 mins away from home via bus lol)

i just spent all night looking at policies to buy. i can lie and buy bingle.com for $660 (using uncle's name, and no mods) or i can list new mods (bodykit + suspension) and pay $960 (still using uncle's name) but then i figured if im going to lie about the driver, really, im only covered on theft and vandalism (unless they allow u to claim for under 25 yrs old even if u didnt list them as a driver, cause it could have been a one time thing) so really, no point in listing mods right?

gargh, installing mods just opened a whole new can worms for me...cant decide which route to go. St george's insurance actually lets u state the value of the mods you have, i put $1000 as the mod's value to replace (cause if i have an accident, i dont mind reverting back to stock anyway, if its third party, then they will replace it for me anyway) and they only charged me $15 extra premium.

but really, the different between fessing up about mods or not is like $350 premium

cooper S is a chicks car....dont get it.

also getting my springs installed wednesday.

and my insurance just expired today. havent renewed it yet cause i dont need the car anymore except for weekends (new job is 12 mins away from home via bus lol)

i just spent all night looking at policies to buy. i can lie and buy bingle.com for $660 (using uncle's name, and no mods) or i can list new mods (bodykit + suspension) and pay $960 (still using uncle's name) but then i figured if im going to lie about the driver, really, im only covered on theft and vandalism (unless they allow u to claim for under 25 yrs old even if u didnt list them as a driver, cause it could have been a one time thing) so really, no point in listing mods right?

gargh, installing mods just opened a whole new can worms for me...cant decide which route to go. St george's insurance actually lets u state the value of the mods you have, i put $1000 as the mod's value to replace (cause if i have an accident, i dont mind reverting back to stock anyway, if its third party, then they will replace it for me anyway) and they only charged me $15 extra premium.

but really, the different between fessing up about mods or not is like $350 premium
and it really comes down to whether a) they void claims if u dont tell them, b) cause i dont want the mods to contribute to value of car anyway, so dont wanna pay margin for it
Lol i know it's a chick's car but fk me it's a fun car to drive - takes corners so damn quick! besides if i was to get it i wouldn't pay for all of it coz my mum n sister will need to use it too lol...

cant even fit one finger in that gap! (it looks like theres a space, but the tyres are tapered at the edges, so when u go stick ur finger inside, the tyre is actually inside the wheel arches)

(will post before and after comparison of back once i have pics taken from same angle. the only one i have atm is one with the mugen rear lip...which blocks the view of wheels completely before springs lol!)

Tein SS tech - $305usd shipped
install: 4 hours labour - $280 (incl wheel alignment - will have to go back after a few hundred kms for springs to settle in)

atm there seems to be one positive and one negative camber wheel on each side of the back wheels :S

the moment i got in the car, i was like "Whaooo! i can Pheeell eet! its lower!"
i wasnt after the whole crazy slammed look. just wanted to close the gap between the wheel arches, which made the car look fugly. The teins went beyond my expectations!

i used to be able to see the black springs from under or side on from the car. But cant anymore lol. for once i wanted to show off the green coloured springs lol at the irony.

Welcome to the DUMPED euro crew fury. Looks much more nicer than mine only because your tyres are a lower profile due to the luxury wheels. I have the base model euro which means I have the smaller standard 17 inch wheels. But gotta love the tein s techs. Like Andrew (nester jester) said to me earlier in the thread when I dumped my euro. "makes you think: how the hell was I driving around without em?!" very good photos fury. Looking forward to more mods hehe.

looks kool............how much is the kit including the suspension itself?

Thinking about it though - I think these kits are used for highly tuned race cars where they can give immediate feedback for ontrack suspension setup/tunning.

On the streets...........softest to hardest wouldn't be that wide enough a gap would it?

The kit with suspension shipped was just under $1600. Even the suppliers at Fulcrum could not believe it.

Anyway, got a really good installer to put it on. But the motor that came with the kit for the rear coilovers were a problem. Some minor mod need to be done to get it to fit and work without it banging on the rear seat frame underside of parcel shelf.

But was worth it. Had it corner weighed, balanced and alligned and the works. Apart from installing the coilovers the edfc kit was the hardest to install and took the longest. Would need a really good installer to install it.

Soft is just a tiny bit harder than factory but without the rolling of the car. I like hardest but would not use for too long. So far it has not settled yet and will bring the car back for a free tune and check in 3 months or 5000kms time.

Nah, his excess is $1150, that's why he lowered his premium. This is normal in the insurance industry.

Not 100% sure if it's in my head or not but I'm had a few occasions now where I have felt abit more engine kick back when in a low gears from quickly coming off the accel pedal.

Cars got 25Kkm on it now.

I was thinking of filling up the engine mounts with a fairly firm compound in the next month to give the front wheels abit quicker response in power delivery. Having said this I have no idea if it's at all possible as I haven't even looked at the mount design.

something like below. had a friend do this on his EM1 and it was fantastic.

man after lowering the car ive been noticing a "clunk" noise as i drive out my gate

i have this stopper that sits upright about 20cm or more off the ground, so when the auto gates close, it will be stopped by the stopper. i parked my car over it today, and realised that theres this cylindrical tank thing near the front half of the car, that resembles a muffler or something. its in between the front wheels and mounted slightly offcentre towards the driver side.

i think this has been wacking the top edge of the solid steel 2cm thick plate/stopper as i drive out (the driveway dips downwards, so it reduces the gap between the car and the ground.

the only way to avoid it it seems is for me to drive dangerously close to the right side of the driveway (since its off centre and the plate is dead centre) thereby avoiding each other.

but ive already "clunk"ed it 3 times. its a very quick gentle flicking noise. scared that i may have damaged it :S tho nothing seems to be wrong atm

also, it could be the arm that connects the wheels to the steering/suspension thats hitting it (cause its a flicking noise) because thats also dangerously close.

i would think that if it was the cylindrical thing, it wud be more that just a quick noise, but more of a scraping noise. esp since its long and is about 40cm long.

anyway. totally paranoid about driving out my driveway now lol

My name was already on the policy, my premium is $590 and excess is $500 + $650 for being under 22 so $1150 TOTAL Excess if I'm at fault.

I know that exact feeling...my driveway is pretty poorly landscaped...a bit like:

_/ (but obviously less steeper) lol...it doesn't loot steep at all but it's coz there's a "dip" in the driveway which my euro's front lip has hit a few times...most of the times is the rubber under the front. Euro's aren't "that" lower, it's coz it's such a long car which means there's a higher chance of scrapping the front. I'm assuming that's the case coz my Jazz's bumper is the "same height" but has no problems down the driveway haha.

anyways all, I went for a mini photoshoot last Sunday...got some average photos but less of my car coz I was the photographer haha. Will go back to the same place next time with my mates to get a better shoot (I was sharing a tripod with a mate coz I forgot mine - NOOB =[ - Oh and yes my car's windscreen was 'meant' to be clean but I also noobed that too haha)

OH MAN
i just tried adjusting my headlights by turning that yellow little knob

firstly: its freaken hard to reach! you have to move the coolant tank to get to the driver side one. and the other one is blocked off by the battery and i cbfed unscrewing the battery in case i mess things up

secondly; its freaken hard to turn! its like glued on or something
i dont have one of those hexagonal holed wrenches so i had to try and use 3 different types of pliers and man it was a bitch to turn

thirdly, it wudnt turn! even when i finally got a grip on the thing, i heard squealing and looking at the orientation of the the edges, i noticed it did move. but the headlights didnt move at all!

how did u guys manage to adjust yours?

you are correct, if you take off the rims for ur euro you should see a enkei logo (a very small one).

Hey. Yeps. If u look at my post. Its a few pages back on this thread. I have taken pics of the knob.

It's fine to turn. Do not disconnect the bat or u can turn the headlights on to aim.

If ur in the Lanecove area anytime soon I can do it for u if you want.

in other news I finally bleed the whole brake system and pedal still seems abit soft for my liking....specially when compared to the CL9. I looked at the booster vs the MC and the MC looks so dam small for a 4pot system on the CU2's............

overall brake feels a tad firmer............might have to look at changing pads once they wear out abit more.

So far it has not settled yet and will bring the car back for a free tune and check in 3 months or 5000kms time.

wow corner balanced...........i like your thinking!!...........not enough ppl appreciate how well the CU2's are set up. At the rate I'm going (car itch i mean) I might be getting suspension soon.......but am worried all the aftermarket stuff at too hard in soft setting.

My 09 TSX is TOTALLED...........

As I was going on a freeway on ramp @ 40mph, there was a pick up truck in front of me and all of a sudden I drive over this huge ass rock. It's the most painful sound I've ever heard.

I took the car to a mechanic and he said the gas line is leaking underneath and there's major sub frame damage. FML!

Estimated repairs was $4,000 USD but insurance decided to total it.

I'm so lucky my son wasn't in the car because it could've caught on fire or probably exploded.

imagine running over a rock/boulder that's the size of a soccer ball @ 40mph while being lowered

God defcon! After all that efforts... :(:(:(

So where's the damage? underneath the car?

ya it sucks

severe sub frame damage. theres a hole on the floor so you can put your hand through it

the structural integrity has been compromised and insurance felt that it wasnt safe to even repair it

insurance paid off my lien with honda for $22k USD and they cut me a check for $6k USD to get another car

i originally got it for $29k USD plus tax/licenses

the market value of the car was $26k plus $2k in taxes = $28k minus $22k payoff = $6k check

[QUOTE=buddah51au;2968475]I would appreciate some opinions on which of these 2 wheels you guys would think would look best on a pearl white CU2

http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/oo325/buddah51au/sc22_main.png

much prefer the Enkei Budda .. but will they be wider than the standard 18"?
the BBS to me looks a bit blend.

Lemonhead, they are the same size as the OEM 18's - 18x8. The only difference is the offset, OEM is +55, Enkie's & BBS are +45. The crazy thing is that it will cost $610 to replace my damaged OEM 17, yet the Enkie"s are $320 each.

+45 will sit even better flushed
i read in some threads that the factory Honda wheels are also made by Enkei? but $610 does seem a bit too much for a factory wheel.
post some pics once they are on!

Enkei manufactures different wheels in different countries.

The OEM Honda ones are made in Japan + dealer mark up = EXPENSIVE

The lightweight racing lines are mostly made in Japan and cost around $500 each, except Fujin / SC03 / SC05 where they're made in Taiwan.
'Made in Japan' is carved on the face of the wheel and so is visible. Eg: PF01, GTC01, etc..
http://www.enkei.com/racing.html

The other Enkei wheels are made outside Japan and hence a lot cheaper. 'Made in Taiwan'.. is stamped inside the wheel with a sticker, and so hidden :p

I've had PF01 (Japanese made) and Enkei SC13 (Taiwanese made), the quality difference is quote noticeable and so is the price difference :p

You can check tirerack.com to see where they are made from.

As you know natnat, buying wheels is a very difficult choice & i have looked into a number of options. Firstly I was looking for a set of OEM 18's with no scratches or gutter rash, That was unsuccessful. I then sent 2 online applications to JDM Concept looking to buy a set of SSR Vienna LM9's, I received no reply to either application which tells me they are not interested in my Business. I have visited every tyre dealer in the area & they had nothing that suited my taste. Next option was searching online, I liked some of the RonJon wheels from the states, but importing was not a feasible option. So it came down to a set of BBS or Enkie's & they are the 2 wheels that I asked for thoughts on.

ok dropped my kit off at the panel beater today
spent about half an hour examining the fitament
he needs to slice off the top edge that slots in underneath the door otherwise there will be scratching.

and the left side where i scratched my car 2 weeks new apparently has pushed the side skirt up a bit so the fit is a bit tight there, and he needs to slice off the top edge more there (or hammer it down at the risk of cracking the paint)

the rear bumper sits too low so that the red reflectors dont show thru the holes. hes gunna have to hold it up with a bracket and screws so that u can see them. personally i told him just to cut the bits that were preventing the kit from sitting up higher. but he seemed reluctant saying that it would look unproffessional (not that i cared, and its MY car lol...plus whos going to look UNDER my car)

the front hes going to stick it down with polyeurothane. in fact i think hes using a combo of double sided tape where space permits and polyeurothane to stick the kit to the body + brackets in the troublesome areas.

i thought normally they just use tape + brackets + screws to fit kits, never knew they used polyeurothane (i think thats what he said, or some sort of silicon) to use as a sort of adhesive to stick to the car

seemed like a pain to do otherthan a simple spray + fit. so didnt bother haggling him down too much. $700 all up.

hes going to prep the parts first, then he will get it sprayed AFTER its fitted. because he doesnt want to risk having to make adjustments after spray. cause that will scratch for sure.

sounds ghetto, but at this stage i just want it DONE.

i gotta say tho, after fitting all four parts on the car for the first time, the car looked so damn good

I also really like lemonhead's modded russian style grill better, but i dunno how to do that mod myself :( might keep the leftover paint as a future mod :)

overall, very excited that my car's finally coming together.

Hey i was jut wondering what you guys have done to your CU2'S mods ect?

Well I bought my 18 month old Silver 2009 Luxury CU2 two weeks ago 2nd hand, with:

full Modulo kit
Front Aero Bumper
Side Skirt Set
Rear Aero Bumper
Sports Grille
Rear Duckbill Spoiler

Leather Sports Steering Wheel
Sports Pedal Set
Leather Gear Select Knob
Factory Window Tint
Windshields on all windows
Metal-Look Door Sill Garnish 4-Piece Set
Metal-Look Steering Wheel Garnish
Metal-Look Interior Panel Set
Metal-Look Speaker Ring Set
Accent Light Set
X-Pack Paint Protection, Leather Protection, etc

The guy before me really went to town! The car looks very hot, but I would never have paid the silly money he paid for it new. My guess is he paid $12,000 extra. The dealer put an extra $5000-$6000 on the used car price, jacking it up to almost $40000 - I drive a hard bargain - my final deal probably included $2000 or less for all the extras! $35,000 all up less the true value of my trade (about 9,000).

I did pay extra for the extended warranty though - many years back I was "duped" into taking out an extended factory warranty on a new Toyota. In the 4th year, after almost zero warranty problems, the automatic transmission blew up and cost Toyota $5000. In the following year the car suffered a complete electrical breakdown and the transmission blew up again! Over $10000 more to repair - didn't cost me a cent. I like factory extended warranties.

When I got the Euro home, I connected a multi-power-adapter to the cigarette lighter, to temporarily power various items until I could replace them with permanent alternatives: GPS, phone, portable Bluetooth. That will disappear in about 3 weeks.

I just bought a 7" Window-mounted GPS with AV-in on eBay for about $120 delivered. Advice on forums was it would be really crappy - well it puts my last GPS (which spontaneously cracked!) to shame - better maps, faster response, easier searches, much better POI list (even includes my own home-based business - wow, that was a shock!). I'm about to receive a wireless reversing camera from China, which will mount above the rear rego plate and connect to the reversing light power, sending priority video image to the GPS unit whenever the car is put into reverse.

I'm about to get a high performance air filter - I've been told by another CU2 owner that it just about compensates for loss of zippiness caused by the extra weight of the CU2.

I'm also adding a Bury modular phone kit and voice-controlled Bluetooth.

Finally, I'm replacing the very unsatisfactory front split speakers with a pair of decent splits which can make real music.

The installer for all the electricals will create a permanent power connection for the GPS/Reversing camera screen (or any future unit which might replace it) so the last of the cables will be hidden and the multi-point power adapter can be relegated to the glovebox.

I'll take some photos and put them up.

wow thats a bargain, funny thing is, my cu2 lux euro without any kits is $35k market price. so ur cu2 lux with all that! (same age) for the same price makes me feel gipped (because i can just sell mine and get urs technically speaking) but then again at the same time, from your point of view, ur car which has more is worth less
the only way to win is to not sell it lol

i would like some pictures of your steering wheel. sounds pretty awesome
and im surprised with all the money the prev owner threw into it, they didnt get the seat upgrade. i heard that the euro has better leather sports seats u can upgrade to

how many KMs on the odometer btw?

and how much was the reversing camera that you ordered (and where from)
Do u plan on getting a inbuilt gps system installed?

for the air filter, ur getting the KN air filter for the CU2 right? if so good choice. i can vouch for that extra zippiness

I really do drive a hard bargain. And I was in the right place at the right time. The car had just arrived from detailing - had not yet been advertised - so an immediate sale would have saved the dealership $2000 in advertising. And I played hardball - basically described all the Modulo stuff and internal trim as "useless rubbish - worth heaps to the guy who put it in but almost nothing to me". They very quickly recognised that I was being truthful and that I was ready to buy, but at my price, not theirs. And the secret to buying at the right price is to mean it when you say you don't care if you buy today or not - because they know that if you walk out the door, they have less than an even chance of making the sale.

I would like some pictures of your steering wheel. sounds pretty awesome
I'm more taken with the sports pedals actually - never would have even considered them, but they are terrific - practically impossible to slip on them.

I'll take some photos inside and out once I've had the rest done.

afaik there is no factory seat upgrade (I could be wrong), and all the upgrades he put in there were factory installed (apart from the protection pack). I have no complaints about the driver's seat - it is far better than the electronic controlled leather seat that was in my old Mazda 6 Luxury Sports.

I was far more surprised that he didn't go for the Nav version and didn't add in either the Honda or an after-market Bluetooth. Seemed like it was all for show, and then he either got bored with it or couldn't meet his repayments.

how many KMs on the odometer btw?

22400km

and how much was the reversing camera that you ordered (and where from)
Do u plan on getting a inbuilt gps system installed?
Reversing camera was a whopping great $26.99 including shipping - the manufacturer warns that shipping takes much longer than you might expect. I can vouch for that based on other stuff I've received recently from China. I don't expect it for at least another week, possibly two. Here is the current eBay listing but price has gone up to $29: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180630504539&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

There are no after-market inbuilt GPS units that I've found which include a 6-stacker CD, which I "need" - I'm a classical music nut. In any case they are all very expensive.

My 7" window-mount unit is pretty good, as I said, if a bit big - I've got it mounted dead centre, barely above the dash, where I don't find it blocks my vision. Because of its ginormous size, it takes only a glance to read, but it is a bit ungainly. It cost me $122 at auction but it's typical final auction price is more like $150 including delivery. The supplier says it works brilliantly as a reversing screen in his car. I'll only know once everything is installed. I'll keep you posted. Here is a current auction by the same seller: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/7-HD-CAR-GPS-Navigation-FM-Bluetooth-MP4-MP3-4G-/170615097335?pt=AU_Electronics_GPS&hash=item27b973c7f7

Yes I'm getting the K&N installed tomorrow - just the drop-in filter, not the full air intake, which I suspect would make life difficult in the event of a warranty issue.

Cheers,
Warren

congratulations on the purchase Warren, like biggame said, if you haven't done so, remove the intake resonator which is located on the right hand side of the car (when you are standing face to face with it) behind the front bumper (which needs to be removed temporarily), and hear it roar! It kind of sounds like a WRX in my opinion, orgasm to ears! Surprising that just a simple removal of the resonator does so much difference in the sound.

The reversing camera certainly is cheap, but I'll only know HOW cheap once I get it. If it's a case of $29 for a camera which barely works, vs $200 for one that works really well, maybe $200 is the bargain price. Hopefully my $29 was well spent.

Here you guys are removing your air intake resonators to hear the roar of the air flow, and I'm having discussions with car audio installers about suppressing engine noise and undercarriage noise into the cabin! Go figure! I guess you can tell I'm not really a rev-head. I love the power and the speed and rush, but I've never cared for the noise - I'd rather be cruising at 110 with the barest hum surrounding the car and the Brahms First Piano Concerto crashing down around me.

You never know the circumstances with a 2nd-hand dealer vehicle
- maybe the guy traded up to a new Legend and had just as little sense on the dollar as last time
- or maybe the car was repossessed and the dealer picked it up cheap at auction

And someone else may have bought it without bargaining and paid $39,990 instead.

Man what a shame!! All that hard work :((

The largest the rims come in is 18"...which is probably still a good size, don't know why they look so small in the image =S...

I do like the Mugen Bumper, but I figured...I got quoted $390 for a respray on my damaged bumper plus about $250 for the replica lip + spraying ($150-200 I'm guessing)...That's about $800 already...whereas the Genuine Modulo Bumper is only $660 painted!...Can't really go wrong with Genuine Honda Paint Matching either :P. And there's not many Modulo kitted Euros in Brisbane that I've seen, maybe only 1 or 2! So it's still sorta uncommon :). Hope that justifies my decision!

Grill mod ayyy...Like Andrew's (nesterjester)? I'm pretty sure he had a thread on how he did his a while back. I could be wrong :S

I could be wrong :S

if u get the bumper painted together with ur front repair stuff. u save on labour and paint. as opposed to doing it over 2 different sessions. save on fixed costs. but yeh, the difference will only be like $100ish so a genuine modulo wud be worth it for that premium

and yeh, nesterjester's grill is waht i want. gotta find that thread!

the next real mod i wanna do is the grill mod. hope one of you guys (lemonhead?) could post a more detailed set of instructions on how to do it. think its a good time cause can get the grill painted with the bodykit

hey fury, I found Nester's thread for you.
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?138961-CU2-Grill-Overhaul

the only difference with my own DIY is that I have kept the Honda badge on. That mainly requires some putty work and sanding to fill in the side hole where the middle grills go.
I also actually bought a whole new grill for the project, so I still have the OEM grill that can re-use in the future.
Have a good look around with different dealers. I managed to get a while new grill - chrome, badge, rubber etc for just $100. It was probably taken out from a car that was sold with the Modullo grill. Otherwise a brand new set of grill will set you back ~$450..

oh awesome

im more interested in ur grille i think. i was liking the no badge then slap on mugen. but after seeing nester complain about there being a gap after u remove the badge...me thinks its less hassle to just leave it on?

do u have pics/tutorial of how u did it? or just more pics

also, how do u actually remove the grill? i think i want to carbon vynl wrap the chrome pieces isntead of spray

and theres no mention of what mesh you guys used

the CU2 is one of the quietest car in its class. it'd take huge efforts and money to make it sound like and go as fast as a stock MY2011 WRX, which now comes with proper quad exhaust (from the sti line).

so best to leave the CU2 mods at candies to the eyes level :)

removing the intake resonator will just make dirt / leaves to go into the intake box easier.

i was cleaning my CU2 a while ago and i found a piece of leave inside the air box! and that's with the resonator there.

i think the oem filter is made of dry cotton, so not sure if it's too happy with excess moist and extra dirt.

k&n panel filter is oiled, and so is injen CAI, hence it should technically repel water and moist, while cotton would just absorb it.

but with Injen CAI i preferred to avoid driving my CL9 in heavy rain, that's why I only use k&n panel in my CU2.

i think he has the mugen grill as well?

could u also ask him how much it is to paint the wing while ur at it?

and maclovin, im getting my mugen kit installed on sunday, ill let u know how it goes. its $700 but my kitt is half from another supplier and needed to be modified to fit (plus my left scratch pushed the skirt up a bit, reducing the gap between the door, so needed to cut a bit off the top of the kit)
the guy is a contractor, who hires out a spray booth etc etc. has done this stuff before and contracts panel beater work for my mechanic family friend

For sure man, I texted him and asked when he's got some time for me to drop by :D. I'm not sure how much the painting for the wing to cost, I doubt he'd know too coz he doesn't do it himself. Best to ask the panel beater you went to for your kit :P...I'm guessing $150-250? Coz I think nesterjester got his ducktail wing painted for $100/150. I'm pretty set if I wanted anything painted...kits wise coz my mate has access to a spray booth and said he can probably get Genuine Honda Paint at trades price :D.

As for the Mugen Grill, Paul's getting a couple in next week! Carbon Fiber ones :) Will post photos as soon as I can get them!

fyi: A Grade = I'm assuming is the top replica quality...unless there's "S Grade" too haha

wow thats a bargain, funny thing is, my cu2 lux euro without any kits is $35k market price. so ur cu2 lux with all that!

They delivered the wrong model air filter - took a week to get it exchanged! Finally put it in yesterday. Definitely makes a serious difference! So does keeping away from Shell 95 Octane - that stuff is just hopeless!

I've lined up my hardware for a serious electronic makeover:

Bury CC9060 IQ voice-controlled Bluetooth
Bury Series 9 Modular Base and Active Phone Cradle for HTC Desire
JBL MS-8 8-channel Digital Sound Processor / 8-channel Amplifier
Alpine MRV-F405 4-channel Amplifier
Schneider SPA 6000x mono block Amplifier
Hertz HSK 165 splits (new model) for front doors
Infinity 652i coax speakers for back doors
Infinity 652i coax speakers for rear parcel shelf
Infinity 452i coax speaker for centre front shelf
Phase Linear HD-12 sub-woofer for boot
SSL 3.5 Farad stiffening capacitor

Now it's just a matter of getting Juerg of Auto Acoustics to put it all together, with some Dynamat, cables, woodwork, sweat and ingenuity.

Piece of cake!

So today was a test fitment and the front lip obviously doesnt fit well around the foglight area. i trimmed around it and it looks good to me.

i got my s techs today and will be installing them tomorrow along with my LS460 tips.

i will be sanding down the lip tomorrow and paint matching it. also probably do a debadging while im at it

ill be putting 3M tape to get rid of the gaps and i still have to use a heat gun on the front lip since it warped on me when it was sitting in the garage.

Sooooo farken happy today!
More pics tommorrow, my iphone overheated and died and corrupted most of my photos today after i took them :(. probably couldnt handle its awesomeness

but its now SOOOOO LOWWWW. i actually couldn't get out of the driveway! scraped the left underside already (like graze completely invisible cause its on the underside)

but yeh, teins + kit = lowwwwww

i ended up having to REVERSE out of the driveway (i have a VERY LONG CURVED driveway, so this is harder than it sounds)

Also, the side skirts cover up my Massive dent and graze completely! so no need for $800 panel beater fix just a $700 bodykit install :P

Now i want a new grill now and painted calipers!

bad news tho was that i had to go out in the arvo and didnt drive my euro cause i was supposed to let the polyeurothane set. so i drove my mum's lexus...then reversed into a pillar sideways (reversing out of a carpark) and totally smashed her door ><. i cringed so hard, ruined the rest of my day.

so finally did up my car and fixed my graze...but totally ruined my mums and grazed hers....all on the same day

oh well ><

I took better pics of the kit. theres a few particular angles that make it look so good and agressive. i had too much glare today,so u cant really see it that well. shame my fone died.

I am however, a bit worried about when i have to go on driveways, that nose is gunna scrape for sure. perhaps bigger wheels? may lift up the car a bit? but at the same time, if i took it to a shop to get rims fitted...dunno how they are gunna jack up the car on those big lift things....because the side skirts hang low under past the undercarriage i think...so those lifts that holdthe car by the bottom through the sides may ruin the skirts :S

overall, very satisfied with the job

WHOA MUGEN!!! That's awesome. Very nice pics.

Btw I got paint from Autobarn, caliper paint gold and clear. And if u open the trims to your door and connect to power source the courtesy light in the doors. It shud work. I didn't install myself but that's what he told me. And I'm in Brisbane

Loving the kit. U gonna change the grill?

Sick ride Fury, the mugen kit is clean as hell. Cant remember if you have the tein spring or the SS, but if its the SS, try raising it up 10mm or so. It will still look nice but a bit more practical. Where did you get that red honda sticker btw?

lol yeh. its awesome. i didnt realise how well it would turn out until now

i think my next investment will definitely be rims. i need 19 or 20s cause it would serve to fill the wheel arches better but at the same time lift the car up a bit to reduce scrape issues. plus look badass of course

anyone know of good places to start?

Awww furythree mate!!! Looks friggin awesome! Now you need the Mugen Spoiler ;) and possibly Mugen Grill hehe. Well done :). Btw the side skirt you got is the one you got from China right? Coz it's different to the one Paul has.

As for the rims, how much you willing on spending is the question ;) (on just the rims itself, no rubber) haha

On other news...I should be getting my new bumper this week...will keep ya all posted :D
