Rang NRMA yesterday and they said this Philips bulb is "Not legal for road use" The guy on the other end cant really explain what is the reason though...

When finding out if something is road legal though you gotta ask the proper authorities (eg vicroads, RTA) imo.

Ah lol! Are you sure the guy on the phone knew what HIR2 are ? It's not a commonly known acronym. He could have even thought you meant HID lol. And could he reference you to the appropriate section in writing... I have to admit Im not familiar with the RTA laws as Im in Vic. Would seem strange though if illegal being what they are.

Hey guys,

I just bought a 2012 euro and was wondering if the mugen replica kits from bodykits kingdom fit on the new face-lifted euro. If they do anyone know a good painter in Perth?

Cheers :)

i can say that the fuel meter is not that great... today i was thrashing it around the metro (60km/h-70km/h)... at 3/4 tank had 550KM till refuel. Hit the m5 (100km/h-110km/h) and jumped to 660KM till refuel. went metro (60km/h) no thrashing kept under 2000rpm and i got 600KM till refuel...

I only use the fuel metre for when it's 80-100km left on it. I'll get around 60-80km before I'm almost empty.

wth guys 14-20L??? i thrash mine to shit sometimes, ive never gotten above 12
lowest ive gone is 8.7~ and that was a stable figure for a few months
but as drove different roads it now stays at 9-10L after 4 and a half years

Also i stuffed up the door "touchup" (now a 40cm square "ding") AGAIN
i got it so perfect this time and blended but it fkn started PEELING OFF WTF. i primed it and dried for a week and everything!

i fixed all the scratches on my front bumper and side skirts tho
forgot to blend it in but since i got it right once, dont wanna mess with it again. as long as the colour is right and surface is smooth is enough for me :)
$100 down but learnt so much just from this experience

Hey Vaku,

Just bought the B pillar covers from the link you posted after seeing your pic, looks awesome! I have a MY13 Euro Lux. Its 100% stock at the moment, looking at changing the interior and rear license plate lights...you mentioned you swapped them out in yours and are happy with the result, got any specs on what you used and where you got them from?

I'm also looking at getting the drop in K&N filter soon...not sure about lowering or other mods yet.

Any other mods that you're looking at in the near future?

think i got them from jdmconcept special order.

however installing it is not that easy. you need to take off the whole steering wheel similar to replacing the leather steering wheel with the sports steering wheel.

Also need to take the airbag off without deploying it.

almost 2 months mate. i called my dealer and they ask me to reset my trip and try it again. i hope mine going to settle down though.

K24 can be pretty thirsty. Heck, the CL9 was tested as 9.9l/100km when it was on sale, and that car is over 100kg lighter than the CU2 which has the same motor. I find that a mixture of fwy and metro (not city) driving in my 6sp manual will average around 8.5. Just metro (when I say metro, I mean driving around town, 60km/h speed limits and lights every km or so, nothing like city) I get about 11-12l/100km. I would assume a CU2 auto would average 15l/100km in metro only driving. Worse if city driving is involved.

1six8

hmm...cant remember what mines is but i get about 700km on a full tank and that is with metro driving almost everyday and last about just under 2 weeks

not sure if the powerchip ecu tune has anything to do with it...but doesnt seem as thirsty as before...manage to get almost 900km on a full tank once or twice

20kw? Proven?
$$?

1six8
20-06-2012, 06:04 PM
has been proven on the tsx models i4 model which is the same as ours here n the states...with the sri /cai option you need to install a barometric pressure sensor chip to pick up the air pressure that is being sucked. It is pretty much like a limitor without it.

well...saving about $40 fuel over two weeks is something as well as nitrogen air filled in the tyres is worth it as the car breathes better / improved torque overall especially in the low and mid range. safer than messing with a piggyback system which I might consider later if a supercharger kit comes out...and does not void warranty.

20kw? Proven?
$$?

the baseline increase is 14 to 16kw on top of stock for the same price. if you have other mods like sri/cai and catback exhaust the gain is better for the same price. plus is cheaper and safer than a supercharger / turbocharger. it is 20kw min using 95ron petrol...bit more if using 98ron petrol.

Personally i think the second looks much better than the first one on a volcano grey vehicle, also the stock cu2 luxury rims have an +55 offset so you should be looking for something like around 35-45, also depending on your tyres also.

Silver rims matches really well with volcano grey, unless you are going JDM. Offset wise I think 35+ would be a safer offset for most and don't forget tyres profiles also plays a great role in achieving desired look.

Nice brake Set up. How does it drive now?

Thank you for your nice words. 6 pots BBK is gradual and easy to get used to. Braking is more more firm without being too aggressive. Ride on the whole feel more spirited during pick up. Some told me its due to the lighter rims while some say my right foot is going heavier on the pedal. Oh well, I'm a happy driver.

Anyone using BC BR Coilovers? Considering...

i believe they are around 700 to 900. Maybe bit more. might be more worth it to get the modulo one if you are gonna replace it. Depending on what color your car is, the color difference maybe noticeable especially on the red and white color.

any insurance claim? costed me $500 for the claim and $200 for the sports bumper.

my experience is to ask around various dealerships first, as they may have new bumpers sitting in their shops that were taken off cars that opt for modulo kits on delivery. If the dealer is reasonable enough, they may sell the whole bumper to you for much cheaper.

Are you running stock suspension?

If you're running stock suspension, those specs you'll have a bit of poke and look like a 4x4. If you plan to just lower it on springs, it should still be fine.

I'm running 19x8.5 +29 on 225/40/19 fronts and 19x9.5 +22 in 245/35/19 rear but I am lowered on coils with a lot of camber.

Up to you what you want to buy. Springs VS coils. I chose coils over springs because I wanted the option where I could adjust the ride height whenever I wanted to. Not sure on what brands you could go with springs on the CU2 but Tein's are a well known brand and you can't go wrong with their parts.

Don't worry, we all start somewhere. Just read around and take your time with research before you purchase things. Best to get the right part the first time around to save you hassle/time/money.

I don't actually have pictures myself to show my fitment. I can only link you to pics that others have taken of my car and even those aren't head on shots. Think this is the best one I can find on Facebook that shows the fitment.

-6 rears (which will eventually be going back to -4 or so when I have the money) and -3 in the fronts.

Natural camber before I got the camber kits installed was -4.3 rears and -1.2 fronts.

Yeah, the side mouldings makes it a bit too aggressive for me. I like the line that extends from the tail lights to the bottom of the bumper on the standard/Type S model. Hard choice if I should repair and repaint my scratched rear bumper for a few hundred or just purchase a Modulo one.

I have Magnaflow 14829 fitted. Inlet is 2.25 and outlet is 4" which i think is perfect fit to the bumper. Nice sound but still a bit quiet. Looking to run 2.5" piping from cat, replace the resonator and split to 2.25" to the mufflers.

Would you happen to have a clip of your exhaust? I'd like to get a setup made but want it quiet and not too droney while cruising, and a little loud while I'm going flat-chat.

Here it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vjp6-qE7gUA

It sounds much deeper in person, no rasp whatsoever. Cruising is great, not annoying at all. But it is still a bit quiet for my taste.

My plan has changed and we decided to keep the CU2 for a few more years. Still loving it.
