Today

Installed Xforce Twinloop with 2inch Mandrel Bent piping + High Flow Cat (ballistic)

Installed a breather fliter as the previous just had a the rubber intlet hanging in the engine bay

Installed a Pod filter for the lols!

Should've gone for a full under body diffuser if you want to see a noticeable difference in grip/downforce/track times. Canards don't do that much in terms of angle of attack and their main purpose is to re-direct airflow/ create a seal for the diffuser.

However, they do look awesome :)

Tape up the ply and use it for a mould, fibreglass over it in a few layer then separate the 2 for a fibreglass diffuser.

i've realised alot of the guys up in the states do the same aswell, i thought the ek4 rear seats were in good condition, but the bottom half has 2 ciggy burns and top half is mint!

i find the ek9 rear seats boring and cxi-ish looking, hence the change over. haven't got time to get around installing them!

Been busy the past few days working on my ek........

Picked up a OEM ek hood bra fitted it and on the same day ****ed up my front lip getting out of my sisters driveway LOL wanted to get a new lip anyway OEM time :)

Pic was taken at my sisters place which is a work site atm due to renovations...so after that decided it was time for new lip picked up an OEM ek4 lip. I think it looks much cleaner and the fitment is 1000x better than the knock off ek9 lip.

Looks much better :) Then on the weekend i picked up and installed new hardrace front lower control arms with harden bushes, hardrace front and rear endlinks, hardrace bushes front and rear and I decided while it was up in the air might as well replace my front brake rotors with RDA dimpled and slotted rotors.

Car feels heaps better to drive now and those combined with my upgraded rear sway bar has made a huge diffrence in the way the car handles. I also fitted up my new ceramic coated valve cover but I took no pics as the bay was dirty lol. Last night i turned my attention to the interior. I installed a new fastline shifter and chequered sports gearknob, new steering wheel (96 type r no srs), ek9 cluster and some carbon dash bits.

lower the front rings that hold the spring preload if they are base adjustable... and if theres literally no space.. pull out the spring rings so that the spring itself sits right on the shock base when on the ground.

You're not sitting on the bump stop are you? If they have a progressive bump stop it might be worth replacing it with a shorter/firmer one first.

Well anyways i resprayed my guards a couple days ago and only got around to buffing it out. Will buff other side and hope it turns out good. Though accidently sanded the edge too much but no biggie hope it can be fixed :\
Pretty good job for a novice haha. And dont mind the gap between the guards and bumper, haven't secured it well yet.

Picked up a genuine Mugen airbox from a dc2r and had a new 70mm intake pipe made up to match my S90 throttle body. Gonna spray the pipe the same colour as my circuit hero spark plug cover.
Also replaced my 3pt strut bar with an OEM dc2r one and installed my bolt boys dress bolts, aswell as some baby spikes :)
I am very happy with my engine bay now LOL.

Well anyways got genune ek9 headlights couple days ago :)

Brought her a few weeks ago and have done the following just to get her running and sounding right.

New upper control arm bushings
New air filter
Drained and changed oil and filter
Pulled off and cleaned throttle body and IACV. Bloody filthy
Tightened accelerator cable
wired in rear speakers
Put in 2 grommets to stop massive puddle forming in my car which made me rip it out and remove all underlay and dry carpet for a few days so drove around with the dash and 2 front seat in it, lol.
New drivers side headlight
Adjusted tappets
New rear parcel tray
New floor matts and car seat covers
Flushed coolant and re filled


It has a lot of dents so looking at new panels and spraying it myself in the xmas holidays.

That's all I could think of for now.

yeah sold it i found out that the rear left quarter pannel was replaced, the whole left side was repainted and the engine was really ****ed that's why i sold it i have no choice man and if im gonna repaint it and rebuild or replace the engine gonna consume me a lot of $$$ and time so i decided to sell it luckily i found this silver fresh body fresh engine 148k on the clock and im the second owner (if the gathered info was correct ahaha) and on the ride this silver one has heaps better man when you are at the stop light you wont even notice that the engine was running,, so i will stick on stock the engine for now my plan is gonna put some coilover drop it and front SIR and rear skirt i also remove the trunk spoiler due to paint damage and repalce the whole boot lid with black one and gonna re paint the hood with black.. what coilover are the best man.? mattsrea gve me an idea but i computed the total expenses the total amount is like a price of proper coil over so im confused he gave me koni yellow,GC coilover,adjustable tap hats.. yeah so what do you think man..? btw here's the car now

Spent the rest of the day taking out the Recaros and CTR rears to re-wire/heat shrink speakers and amp... OEM seats to go back in as Recaros and my rear dont agree with each other.

Got a few PM's about fixing the "red"

It only worked on the bonnet and the passenger door... I went thru 4 coats to get it that good but the 4 coats actually removed the worn out clear that was on there so that bonnet you see is bare paint. Once down to bare paint then used Meguiars Cleaner Wax to remove the swirls that the Swirl X left in the paint (ohhh the irony... lol)

The rest of the clear on the car is still hard and intact and could not be removed by hand with the Swirl X so it still is pink. When weather is good again might get a DA polisher to see if that works or even try to wet sand and get the clear off the rest to get rid of the pink...

I dont care about going down to the paint as I only wanted it to look good for a short time while I save up so I can get a respray done. Also gives me the opportunity to experiment on different ways to treat and restore paint.

If facelifted ej8 you mean by 99-00 ej8 then no lol. Its a Prefacelift ej8 which has been facelifted using oem parts :)

Coupes are nice but hatches have more options especially them wings...so many options compared to coupes. For coupes its either ej8,em1, mugen rep wings. Others like ferio and all that are hard to find.

Ye I meant did u facelift a 96-98 ej8 ;p. I've face lifted my 97 Ek all oem parts. It looks wicked btw. Are those genuine ek9 headlights?

Hahaha yeah yeah oh nice. Seems quite a few people facelift there preface :)
And yep their geniune ek9 headlights. When i first got them it was in the worst condition likr beyond repair shit so what i done was bought a set of oem ek headlights for $40 off a mate took both ek9 headlights and normal ones apart and swapped out the covers and resealed it back :) bringing it back to life :D

Hosed down and scrubbed off surface rust and then polished the lips...

If they fit up well might refurb/replace the bolts and properly mirror finish the lips

Picked up OEM Access Rear lip for my car from an ozhonda member, will paint and chuck it on friday or sat. This means my replica type R lip is up for sale.

This weekends effort: illuminating the boot of my EK1 hatch. Springs put under the parcel clip screws to provide power, copper tape around the ends to contact the springs, 3528 warm white LED strips tucked out of the way into the gaps of the back half of the parcel shelf. Parcel shelf clips in and out without any wires!

Only downside is resisting the urge to play "I wear my sunglasses at night" every time I open the rear hatch in the evening now :)

I'll try to remember to take a shot later tonight - needless to say its more than adequate brightness wise :)

Should mention too, the power comes off the stock boot light ... so switching the boot on or off controls the parcel shelf too when the hatch is opened ...
