Sprayed dettol antiseptic spray all over the plastics, twice and wiped everything down. Dash, passenger+drive side plastics, glovebox. Only takes 1 line of text to say it but it took forever.
Cleaned out the fuel cap area
Unscrewed and took out all the speaker covers and cleaned them

Nah, just re-fit the standard coils on the koni's with the spring seat lower - i already have clearance issues where i park my car at home, plus i wanted a bit more comfort. Its down around 10mm in the front and 20 or so in the rear to take the rake out of it.
Drives good and i can still drive across sydney's shit roads without wincing!
Kings will be up or sale this arvo if i get a chance to clean them $150 for the lot, super lows

So I desided to buy some new wheels so i can run some bigger tires for when i build my b20 vtec and for drags and so on
Seen some wheels for sale for $260 5x wheels, 15x7 in size.
So rang the bloke he said they had some gravel rash... offered him $150 cash and we agreed on $160
I went to pick them up and relised they were 16x8 stoked now looking at painting them.

Ripped out the carpet.
Whats the plans with the car bud[/QUOTE]
Getting the smell out of this used car i paid too much for is priority #1
After that, progressively doing almost everything black. All the light grey stuff, i want to black out. The dark grey of the interior I can live with..
I've taken LOTS of photos as I've gone along so, there'll eventually be a build thread =D
I'm happy with the stock EK seats, just not the ones that came with the car. I need to find some used ones in good condition..
After that, I might try to get a rear seat delete kit, or replace with other ones that are in good cond. that dont stink.
I called knox auto carpets but they dont do carpets for EK's, only EG and prior >_< so I'll be trying to find a place that can do my carpet and headliner for a reasonable price (i know I can DIY, but if the price is semi reasonable I'll go with it)

This is where I got it from:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/250883533534?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
To be honest I wasnt expecting it to be a genuine type r knob for the fact that it was only $30. I noticed the item location was Japan, but when I tried tracking the item it came up with "Hong Kong Post" which made me think... Interestingly they went through all that trouble to seal it up in a clear plastic with genuine Honda stickers as well. Anyways, it feels quite solid and durable so hopefully it will last.

im pretty sure its safe lol i think its only like a 15mm or 14mm no bigger then that but i heard its alright to run on an ek1 without any dramas but anything bigger then you would need to get a sub frame reinforcement brace eg,asr etc
i went for a good road test today and it seems fine the handling difference is amazing even for a stock bar, before i put the rear on i was only running a GLi 22mm front sway bar and that help heaps cause my car is a cxi= came with no front or rear swaybars lol and with the rear now it sits pretty flat in corners and takes them pretty good compare to having just a front sway bar.60 bucks well spend for the lot xD

y u no earth back to battery?
No need to brother all you need to is find a safe spot to put a srew or bolt and sand back some paint and bolt it to the car. using a ring terminal.
The other trick with stereo gear is to run the cables in different spots or you will get noise and problem
shorter the earth wire the better
eh, earthed mine back to the battery and all my wires are hidden and don't get any noise interference. amp is bolted to my back seat and wires put through the back of the seat, under carpet and up through the gap near glove box.

yeah if you get no noise, you cant complain.
the best way to run the wires are...
speaker wire together.
remote wire can go with the main power.
and rcas with them self.
the noises you can get are reving sound though your speakers or subs
they can be hell anoying.
if you enter sound comps they can pic up these noises which could cost you point
so if ya can do it. Do it
if not do ya best lol

Doesnt really fall under today.. but i bought my 97 ek4 last weekend as my first manual car..
Loving the sound of the b16 crossover.
1 Previous owner immaculate interior / exterior (Minus the expected small dings of a 15 year old car) full log book history and came with:
- Cold air intake
- Full header / catback exhaust 2.5" through (Loud as but remedied by buying a adjustable cannon silencer)
- King springs
- 17" Rims .. Which mind you are for sale as i think they are too big (oh and they scrub alot... --')
- Aftermarket Headunit / AMP / 6x9's
- Type R style grill
Plans:
- Front and rear lip (Bought and are being shipped)
- Better 16" rims
- Colour coding of mouldings / lip / grill
- Foglights
- Blacked out headlights
- Coilovers

Had my EK serviced & wheels aligned.
Planning on getting tail lights like 2BeSeen's next week, however.. I need opinions!
My EK is a dark green (I'm sure you've all seen it - fairly common Civic colour).
Should I go with the Black or Chrome housing?
I'm not a huge fan of the Chrome, but I'm worried the black will blend in too much with the dark green and look odd, or bland, even. Opinions?

in my opinion, ek9 tail lights would look the best on your car, but i don't think the dark altezza lights would look bad at all. i would go dark over chrome.

Well, one of the best suggestions that I've heard is the bolt that holds your back seat down.
I've used one of the bolts that holds on my tail lights, and it's worked well enough.
Do you know how to disassemble your back end? (All plastic moulding, boot floor, spare tire and back seats)
*edit*
I just headed outside and had another look, and here are the other good spots I saw.
Where your spare tyre goes, there is a bracket that the long bolt you use to hold it in place goes.
There are pre-threaded holes that'll be solidly welded in place under the little plastic discs 300mm on each side of your boot latch. I believe these holes are intended for anchoring child seats to.

Hey man.. i appreciate you going out of your way to have a look.
ATM mine is bolted next to the boot latch. .thats what I was talking about.. but the position of the sub and the amp (amp is mounted ontop of sub)... makes the grounding cable from the latch to the sub look messy because its in the middle of the boot.. so ill have a peak at where the rear seats bolt in and bolt it to there as its probs a better place as its way more hidden
cheers!

Sounds good. You know how to pull out the upright parts of the back seat? It makes accessing that area a ton easier.
Btw, I'll be rebuilding my boot floor to house a full size alloy spare soon, and when I move my amp around again for that, I think I'll use those ones on the back of the car. Do you know the spots I'm talking about? They're not right next to the latch, but like I said, 30cm on each side. I'd take a photo, but I couldn't be bothered working out how to post images. ;)

you don't need to change the rad support however, you'll need to modify it in order to fit the fl bumper on properly. you'll need to cut a little bit of the rad support (with an angle grinder or similar) in certain areas to fit the bumper on so that it aligns with the other panels. i think you'll also need to drill a couple of new holes on the rad support as the original holes will not line up with the holes on the fl bumper and you won't be able to screw it in properly. a little hard to explain but i hope this makes sense.
EDIT: alternative way is to probably cut the bumper instead of the rad support...but i think you will still need to drill new holes on the rad support.

Haha, yep, I finally managed to track them down from Idealseat Company - $149 for the pair delivered.
I thought they didn't make genuine. do they come in other colors?
Yep, genuine Recaros - they sent me the brochure and off memory I think there was black, blue and red... I'll try post up the pic when I find it or just email them...
Only thing is the velcro on the back of the head pad doesn't stick to the SR3 alcantara, but it's simply a matter of getting a black strap and velcro sticky thing from Spotlight, running it through the holes and should be all good to go.
The padding isn't huge in them, but see how they go - good thing is you can always unvelcro the head pads and add more padding inside if you need it.
Oh, should keep the gf happy too - she won't keep banging her head on the back of the seat anymore LOLZ :)

Performance vs Looks, so u choose lol....
Teins were made for stock shocks so they wont kill them, super lows, hit and miss with stock shocks... heard ppl blowing there stock shocks in a month of use with super lows and vice versa
IMO go for Teins, cause they are rated, personally driven cars with both, teins crap over kings...
yeah thats true, and teins are most likely more durable anyway considering their reputation and compatability with stock. I'd be running oem shocks so i think i'm leaning toward s-techs

yup... Not hating on Kings, there are fine for DD, but once u start pushing abit... u can tell difference between kings and teins
yeah, will want that extra ride comfort and enhanced (from stock) performance also, looks like s-tech it is!

This is a bit misleading - King super lows drop an Ek around 50mm where the S-Techs drop the car only 30mm - obviously the lower spring will reduce the life of the standard shocks quicker. Kings do make just a "low" which works just fine
Edit: I don't know why i bother defending kings really - no one is interested in listening!

This is a bit misleading - King super lows drop an Ek around 50mm where the S-Techs drop the car only 30mm - obviously the lower spring will reduce the life of the standard shocks quicker. Kings do make just a "low" which works just fine
Edit: I don't know why i bother defending kings really - no one is interested in listening!
good post backed by facts not opinion.

Eagerly waiting for my Gli Cluster to arrive in the mail, so my CXi finally has a tacho!
In the meantime, replacing power steering fluid this weekend, pulling my door trim off to try and stop the window control arms from rattling, installing a Pioneer head unit & trying to find out exactly where my squaeky clutch comes from!
Also needs a good wash, but rain is on it's way this week, so im not sure if there's any real point..

Nice, you got a good attitude, attention to detail, fixing little squeaks and knocks is a good idea, once there gone you feel alot better about the car, while you got the door trim off its a good idea to spray the rubber window rails with some silicone spray just incase they have dryed out on the inside, not only will your window function better but you will increase the life span of the power window motor (if they are power ) less strain..
Took my car for a drive toda noticed that my vtec would not engage, oil pres was fine had a good amount of oil in the motor, coolant was good, so the tps was gone, we tryed recalabrating it, so i bought a new one today and the car drives so smooth now :)

May I ask where you getting the tacho from? Need one for mine as well.
Got mine from eBay.
eBay seems to be the easiest place to find them. Found one EK at U-Pull-It that had its cluster removed already & none of the wreckers I contacted had any. If you need a manual cluster try the American eBay (eBay.com - not .com.au), all the clusters on the Australian eBay are auto.
Also trying to identify a sort of clunky rattle that seems to be coming from the rear left wheel/suspension when driving over bumps or pot holes. I may just be paranoid, because it's not loud & I can only hear it early in the morning on the way to work, when everything is quiet..
Or it may just be my left side skirt rattling, because the 'clip' that holds it near the back wheel is broken, so the skirt hangs a bit lower than the other one & can easily bounce up and down. Anyone recommend something to glue the clip back together? $50 super glue that can fuse a gorilla's hands together?

Hey mate check your rear camber arm on the side that is making the clunky sound.. (make sure its sitting correctly) have you changed them or taken them off for some reason ? and this is might sound silly but is your wheel on tight ? lol
Best thing to do is if you know when it started happening, try remember what you did maby new suspension lca's etc and go back over it more then 3 times to make sure everythings tight and sitting how it should.. it could be possible that something has come lose..
IMO i dont think the its the skirt unless its like badly hanging off the car lol ( if it is the skirt use industial grade double sided tape to hold it on, it WILL work and your not running the risk of snapping ur skirt off if you decide to paint it one day.. (if you use some sort of super glue.. )
good luck post up what it was when u find out :)

Just above the rear left wheel arch.
No paint scratched off, there's just a small dent there.. As if someone's come along and slammed it with their knee.
I'm peaking though. Could only notice in when light was shining in the right direction.. So I don't know how long it's actually been there.

Are you taking about my car or yours? Mine has had some rough moments before I had it... If it's yours, you have my sypmathy, they're freakin expensive to get repaired...
Hi dude. Do you mean $140 each for the roadstone tyres? I hope not :)
Yes, $140 a corner... Why? If they last a good 30-40,000, and keep their handling characteristics well, I'll be happy.

Yeah unfortunately thats quite a rip off for a chinese budget tyre.
I know its too late but next time ask here first or read up on the tyre threads here beforehand :)
For that price you could find a japanese or korean tyre of higher quality and design

Well its up to you, what you think looks good
Majority here will say get a standard one with factory lip.
Have a look through this thread and see what grabs you then we can help you find the one you want

Yep, $2500 full outside respray. The guy is a mate of a mate but go see him and see what he can do. His called Phil.
But like always, at this price there will be small imperfections so I wouldnt recommend it if you're real OCD about a perfect paint job... but nonetheless, he can spray any colour. He did this car with 2 coats adhesive to bond the paint to the panel, then 3 coats of championship white and finished off with 2 coats clear
