Anyway, here's what I worked on today. Stripping some redundant wiring from the track toy. Feck I hate auto electrics!! Apparently that white grease they use in the door connectors is carcinogenic (he says after swimming in the stuff for the last 2 days  )

I bought one, well it was yesterday but forgot to post.

1996 EK with 124K on the clock! Already on coilovers and 16" wheels, with some tint.

Got a front strut tower bar as well for her today, and take delivery this week.

Plans are now afoot for the slowest Honda I have ever owned. :) But suspension and suitable seats are the first things to be considered.

Oh, and since its my first post...Hi everyone, lurked about for a few weeks as I was looking for the right car as a project. Thanks for all the info, and help, so far.

Ok lads need ur input on this, ive thought long an hard about the future of my civic, to rebuild and shoot for 400hp or to buy a new replacement, an frankly, im more so leaning over to buying a new car, more so a S14, not as a drifter but more so as a replacement as ive always wanted a Rwd turbo since ive gotten off my p's 3 years ago, an since than the civic build has progress more than it shoulda lol

As the car stands now it is making at 140kw with high boost an moddest 120 kw on low boost so its a fun little toy.... But the dilemma is that should try to sell the car as is, later on the year with the full custom turbo kit an all the goodies inside the car minus the amps an sub and bucket seat and with no road worthy?,

OR

Better off just parting out the car all together and selling the car for like 4- 5k with coilovers and rims?

strongly advise against building the civic more

all the money you put into building the engine wont make a big difference to end selling price and may even scare off buyers

iirc the turbo hondas that have been advertised on here with built motors dont fair so well

plus the more you mod that car it will become a dog to drive being fwd and neverending money pit. more power then stronger clutch bigger wheel/tyre coz no grip etc. etc.

cut losses imo

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/10/utebesup.jpg
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/10/semazanu.jpg

Finally fixed up the intake so it's not quite so tight anymore. Still a bit squeezie but it's finally sitting up nice and tucked feeding from all that cool air through the bumper.

A brake change. Old ones didn't have much on them, seemed like it's about time they came out. Just throwing some standard pads back in before I do a larger pad upgrade to the the 280mm

Lastly, I finally got the front diffuser/dust cover back on. Originally took it off due to scraping, but it's been sitting around and cars up a little higher now too. Going that it also helps a little with some downforce issues on the front drives.

Illegal and unsafe I would think..

Surprisingly, mod plate passed with flying colours. I have heard of rear disk conversion being required for mod, but the engineer advised me that the drums, because they're 220mm, were sufficient. However, he recommended a conversion.

Rear brakes are very important, they're there to relieve a certain amount of strain from the fronts and keep the car from lifting too much weight off the rear during braking. If you were to do continuous hard braking (track or downhill mountain road) just think about how hot the front brakes will get.

Honestly you will have more braking power by adding rear discs than just upgrading the fronts. I think if you look around you could probably pick up a 4 disc setup for the price of a big front upgrade or less if you're lucky..

Also if you check out the Brakes Direct website there is a video where their technical director explains the importance of rear brakes and why they should be upgraded with the fronts. If you wanted to hear more about it that is.

recipe for disaster hahaha

Quick update, was suppose to do a headgasket job, but seems like the head was warped causing the gasket to seep abit off coolant,, but no signs of gasket damaged sigh! Bore looks too shiny, no good, and signs of scratches on the bore, but not enough to make me worry, but because of the top of the bore, there seems to be heavy discolouration and slight damage, enough to put my finger nails in, caused by burning coolant or something else, so will need to be machined 20 thou

Plans are:
YCP 75.5mm piston
Skunk2 Rods 138.62mm
arp rods/bolts (already had head bolts in)
Machine, Deck, Hone block
Machine Head flat

That is it for now, D16 heads are good flow for upto 350hp, was planning on doing head work, but no point for my power goalsa and limted budget :(

Even if you get another temp gauge, you have to calibr8 properly again.

10-07-2014, 12:44 PM
Did this the other day but had to take off the rears because they rub my guards when I bottom out. Car is on King Springs which makes the fitment nice, but they are too damn soft and everytime I bottom out I rub my guards obviously. Need to source some coilovers but that means money which I need to save up for =\

Definitely needs camber because from the back it looks stupid as hell poking out so much. Don't know whether I should keep these or sell them for wheels that won't give me so much hassle. I got these relatively cheap so I thought what the hell, but now it's going to cost me more to sit them in suitably. Thoughts? Car is in the making... I don't know a lot about cars coming from sport bikes (bought this for the winter). Rest of the plans is to spray the moulds white, get a front/rear lip, and a new boot... long story short, it had a centre spoiler, last owner had silicon'd it on, tried to remove, ****ed up paint behind it all, now looks ugly.

Edit: Wheels 15x8 (+10 offset I think). Tyre specs 195/55/15 and 185/55/15 for each pair.

You didn't answer it. Can you tell what the differences are?
And outline any negative side effects there would be, as to which way the control arms face.

I've been hearing plenty of shit talk and trolling surrounding the way that LCA's are installed, yet no one has given any info, shit talk or factual as to what side effects could be had due to them facing differently.
