Ill never understand why people wanna pay that much and go through the trouble of opening the lights up when you can just drill holes for free in 10 minutes.

Because drilling a whole
Doesn't prevent water from getting in your car.. And drilling a hole is not a preventative.. Just hides the prOblem .. Which will Most likely come Back to bite you In the ass when the cOnstant moisture behind your tail lights starts to cause rust that will
Not be visible and cause damage in the long term.

Goodluck with that Charliebrown.

Replacement radiator cap. I'd replaced the 1.3 Cusco with a 1.3 Mugen as I had a little coolant collecting on the fan shrouds under the filler - wasn't hoses. I noticed that neither was a good fit, instead of lining up parallel to the radiator when on, they twisted a little further. Bought a 1.0 genuine Honda one and noticed the grips were about 2mm longer. fingers crossed it was just dodgy non-OEM. Opened up my air-box - time for a new filter. It's ducted to the lower grille rather than using the factory resonator setup - I need to run some coarse mesh over the inlet pipe I think :)

300 bucks worth of E30 parts arrived for the BMW from the US (cheaper buying and shipping than buying in Aust) on Friday - sadly I won't have much time to play with either car for a few weeks as I have a 2 day conference coming up followed by HSC prac marking which kills my weekends.

So am I actually... as I didn't really want to do it... and the new owner could tell I didn't want to let it go, but had to due to my current position.

I sold the car and original engine for very close to the asking price - Which was obviously why I let it go. I'm not going to comment on exact prices, as the new owner is a member on this forum. But it'll more then likely still get about.

browsed this guys store on ebay to choose what colour and kind of sleeving i wanted Furryletters ebay (http://stores.ebay.com.au/FURRYLETTERS/_i.html?_nkw=sleeving&submit=Search&_sid=481644496)

but emailed him to order directly. dmiller108@comcast.net

his direct prices are very cheap and shipping costs next to nothing from the US and only took 2 weeks.

bought this kit of adhesive heatshrink (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/180837987736?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649) from ebay

and to de-pin the plugs just a $3 set of tiny screw drivers from a hardware shop

- Decided to replace the old and worn bushes in my car, so i bought a full hardrace kit.
- Finally found a good condition set of rears to compliment my 5 stud conversion (already had the fronts).

Hey Guys, bought my first Honda the other day, a white Integra VTI-R, so keen to get it! Completely stock from an old lady, 180*** on the clock, full service records, nothing wrong with it for a bargain price. Even still has the OEM tape player ;) shame I have to wait 2 weeks till I can get it though.

What sort of mods do you guys recommend for this model? I've already booked it in for a full exhaust system with an Xforce twin loop muffler and ordered a CAI. I was thinking of getting some king springs too, or should I just really blow the bank with some coilovers? Also, do you think this lip would look good on white? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Carbon-Fibre-Front-Lip-Spoiler-Integra-DC2-Type-R-/120743635766?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c1ce1ab36

I was thinking of getting some king springs too, or should I just really blow the bank with some coilovers? Also, do you think this lip would look good on white? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Carbon-Fibre-Front-Lip-Spoiler-Integra-DC2-Type-R-/120743635766?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c1ce1ab36

Congrats on the great buy dude.

In terms of mods, it really depends if you're willing to open up the engine or not. if just bolt on's, then your CAI and full exhaust with headers should be quite nice. the Xforce twinloop (barrel type) cat back is actually pretty damn good for the price (I have one too), but the Xforce headers aren't really special at all..

Keep this in mind about king springs, if you put ANY significantly lowered springs on your stock shocks you will get terrible handling (worse than stock) and blow your stock shocks very quickly. for lowered springs you need to get lowered shocks to match. but then you're creeping into coilover territory ($ wise) anyway.

keep in mind even though coilovers provide superb handling some coilovers are quite stiff, even on the lowest shock setting. for daily driving (if stiff suspension bothers you) Buddyclub N+ are pretty good, they aren't too harsh at all on the lower settings.

That lip will fit fine provided your VTi-R is a 98-00 model.

I'm happy to open up the engine, are upgrading my cams worth the money?
Yeah, I've heard that about the Xforce headers, so I asked for hurricane to be put on.

I don't want it significantly lower, just at the moment it's height makes it look like a hairdressers car, I was thinking only around 1-1.5" drop. My last car, the previous owner dropped it heaps but didn't change the shocks so it was the most unpleasant ride driving over anything that wasn't brand new tarmac. I'll check those buddyclubs out too :)

Even with 1.5" drop you will be out of the old stock shocks operating range. also when it comes to king springs they usually come in Superlow and Ultralow. I can tell you from experience that Superlow is easily enough to kill your stock shocks. just a warning! haha

Well first off, that is for a JDM front integra, and second if it's for a Type R (this does not include "Type R style") it wont fit.

What you need to be looking for is fitment for 93-97 (non-JDM) integra.

dont ruin such a good example of a car, put some nice wheels on, good coils, but if you want to keep it clean id stop there. Then just engine mods dont put the wing on, IMO it will look shit/fanboy.

Oh okay. Well my intentions for the VTEC controller were to be able to change it to the optimum kick in after I get a dyno with my next exhaust, cams and intake so I can then change it to where the dyno tells me. Also to make it kick in higher when on freeways and stuff to save fuel.

what cams you got? when using bigger cams you would usually set the changeover to around 6000rpm.

but you cant just put in large cams + change vtec point = done. your engine will need to be tuned to get the performance othetwise itll probably be worse than stock.

this is true it does shift, but your shifting it to higher range, thus losing your low/mid range torque.

Yep thats better :)

it's the Low and Mid range torque you lose, depending on how much bigger the cams are. if it's only a mild increase in lift you will retain, and depending on the cam design, increase mid range but lose a little bit of low end torque.

however if you have big lift stage 3 cams you will lose a fair amount of low/mid in most cases as the power band is much higher up.

Finally got my 2.25" cat-back made up by Carline Mufflers in Gawler (SA).

Used a Magnaflow muffler and resonator I bought from the forums, very happy :D

Sick. How does it sound Jake? Post a clip!

Mandrel/press bent, stainless or mild steel?

Surprisingly quiet in car, but a nice tone from outside.

Press bent mild steel with stainless from muffler to tip.

I recorded it with my phone but it sounded terrible, so I'll wait till I get a decent quality vid and chuck it on youtube :)

Definitely getting it tuned after my cams and before my controller. They're only stage one cams, just to add a little bit more of a punch up high.

Your best chances with the paint blending would've been allowing them to paint with the car available as a whole, so they would lift the front part of your fender a few shades so that it matches up with your front bar.

Tuan94
15-10-2012, 01:50 AM
Yeah, he told me to just bring the bar in (mates dad). As previously mentioned, would a cut and polish be able to match the paint? Or do I just have to live with it like that

Mates dad did it for $250

Mates dad did it for $250

for about $300-$350 you could had got it done with colour match lol. epic 50 shades of white.

getting the same colour code is easy but getting it colour matched is a different colour. Only way to make it blend is to get it sprayed again.

They're steelies.'Rim' is just a misappropriated term, however. What makes an alloy wheel more of a 'rim' than a steelie?
