Just like the EK Thread i'd like to start one for Integras only :) So here it is..



What did you do to your Integra today?

Today i actually bought my first car! Its a 97' Gsi. I fixed a rattle in the drivers door and connected the steering wheels horn up, tried to fix the headunit (But its ****ed) So just took it out.. and lastly for the day gave it some new oil. Thats about it. Lots more to do on it, i think ill give it a good clean tommrow.

Today didn't get as much stuff as i would of liked to, but had a crazy night and a bad morning.. So i wasn't in to good condition XD.

Firstly a mate was over and we ripped all the stickers off the windows and took the dogey seat covers off.
Now there's alot more dogey things that he's done to it.. Firstly he said the sunroof was leaking at some point.. So he has gone and siliconed it up.. Also siliconed and lightly painted the taillights black..

So my current project are getting them lights cleaned up. Also look into the sunroof.
Also today, something weird happened to the cars immobilizer. It ran out of battery so we put a new one in and now i don't need to press the immobilizer to be able to start the engine 0_o

Owell. Doesn't phase me at all, quicker to get going now ahahah, that's about it today :)

-Timing belt 2x -.- Wasn't done properly first time, causing the valves to hit pistons etc, then during the process a nut broke, so that was another 2hrs or so getting that out/retreading.
-Took roof out and fixed the sunroof (What a job LOL)
-New steering wheel, floor mats, wipers, interior light
-Bought some clarion components and a few accessories. :3
-And a decent in/outside clean

Next week new tint and rims!!! Almost done for now! :D

Also considering stickerbombing rearview mirror, Anyone had any experience?

yeah man, BC is pretty much exactly that. my friend has them on his S14, great handling and awesome quality for $1200. only thing is they were really stiff for a bit until they wore in, but I think thats coilovers in general.

if $1200 is still a bit too pricey, maybe consider a second hand set off the parts for sale section? sometimes there are good deals on suspension there. :)

The reason I grabbed another fender was because i damaged the original.
The fender liner caught on the road coming down the bottom of a hill, pulled the fender inwards where it meets the front bumper. I bent it carefully back into shape, applied some anti-rust to where the paint was chipped.
It still lined up fine, and is definitely fixable. Just jumped on this fender to open up my repair options. plus the white is an awesome change ;)

Thought i'd take a photo if you were still there after I got the P/S fluid today :P

On that note, changing the PS fluid sucks major **** if you don't have a hose long enough -.- All another learning experience. Steering feels much MUCH better now.

And yes, use genuine Honda PS fluid. Comes in 1 litre bottles @ $18.50 each. 2 was just enough to flush the old out, and refill to the max line.

Still undecided. At the moment, just maintenance, little niceties here and there. As far as performance, I think I'll end up selling the GSi, to move on to a Type R / S2000 / WRX.
I don't think I can bring myself to spend big $$ on this model Teg.

In the meantime, she's a brilliant car. This is my second, used to have a '95 GSi, the same colour as yours.

Umm got em ages ago at bunnings man. Doesn't have to be the exact right size, you shove them in anyway so get em a bit bigger than the hole. The plugs i used are skinny in the middle and larger on the two ends so there's no leaks (think theyre called grommets?). Dont even need to measure imo, there isn't that many sizes of plugs available

Spent an hour or so in the freezing cold last night adjusting my headlights. It's amazing how much better night driving is! Seriously recommend doing it if your's are out of spec

Of course the bulbs are amber. I can still see mine through the clear housing during the day. It isn't enough to make it look like im constantly indicating though, which is what amber HOUSING would look like.

The parkers and indicators are seperate. When you turn it on, the parkers (yellow one) are constant and its more to the side. The indicators (amber) are more towards the front. So if you get LEDs itll just be the same just the yellow will be more white. If you dont like seeing the amber bulb thru the clear housing you can get clear bulbs that flashes orange.

Anyone know where i can get a good deal on tyres? I figured it would cost the same (if not more) to get the tyres imported/buy separately then get them fitted, balanced and an alignment. Tyrepower in nottinghill does excellent work and has great service but they want $163 a tyre and $60 or 65 or an alignment -_- this is for 205/45/16 kumho ku31s. All other stores i've called up are around the same price too

Yeah 4 wheel alignment. Just so i have a report of how much camber i've got and to adjust the toe so as to slow down tyre wear as much as possible. When i did a bit of calling around, the price should be around 50-70 for the alignment (one place even wanted 90 or some shit).

Do you fit your own tyres Lukey? I'm gonna make a big fuss at the store if they scratch the rims on any of them or chip too much paint off my nuts lol

If you get them to balance them, ask them to put the wieghts on the innerside of the rim too ;) Don't worry to much about them scratching them, I left em with my brand new buddyclubs and they came out perfect condition.

Also see if they have nitrogen to fill the tires up, only costs about $4 a tire (Jaxx quickfit) :P probably already know about this. Hahah

tyre pressures depend on what sorta tyre profile and width ur running.

and if you check ur tyre pressures regularly you dont need to waste money on "nitrogen". it only takes a few minutes at a servo, but note servo things arent always super accurate

FWD, lower pressure for more grip, higher in the rear so they slip easier going around corners. Free improvement to handling, even if it's only minor, understeer sucks hard.

Fuel prices will go up no matter what. The demand for it is so high that they can pretty much put the price as high as they like. Petrol prices for consumers doesn't fluctuate anywhere near as much as it does per barrel.
But anyway, I've found wednesday to be cheaper but these days its really hard to predict.

I just wish my corners were less oxidised, they'd be much prettier. They look great on their own, but because the lows are only 4000k, they look very very blue.
